- Welcome back to the channel!
In this video, I go over installing a fresh Bosch 034 distributor that was rebuilt by www.vwnos.com.
The Pertronix distributor laid down on the owner yet again and after weeks of waiting, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Bosch (which I wasn't aware that they were available).
If you are looking for quality OEM parts for your air cooled VW... be sure to check out www.vwnos.com.
And no... not paid to mention or what have you... just tired of garbage parts and when you find a good supplier, you let others know. Lol

VW NOS is the place to Go. Marcel is indeed a great communicator, knows his business, and can provide what you need to get you going. I too have purchased a Bosch 034 for my 64 1641 from Marcel and sound get it installed in the next few days. Can't wait to see the results!
It was a night and day difference. Still running like a top. I'll have it back here for service and valve cover gaskets in the next month or 2.
It's a dream to drive now, thanks man!
Glad we finally got it sorted out!
Another good one. Thanks dude
Appreciate you watching!
Back in the day, the 009 was the way to go. I like all the oem stuff on that machine. Those were so ahead of their time and still on the road today. I never had the luxury of having an alternator so on occasion when the voltage regulator would fail, you could enjoy the smell of rotten eggs right in the cab. LOL
The 009 can work well but it really doesn't like the 34 pict 3 carb. Performance wise, the 034 gives more advance up front to get moving because of the vacuum. I'm surprised it was a goto since it was never meant for road going engines. The 009 was made for generators and such that stay at constant rpm.
