    F4 repeats the last command for Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    Ctrl+d also duplicates if you have an object selected

    It's great to see you back up and running. I need to convert ranges with formulas to values almost daily. I right-click on the selected range that has formulas and drag it to where I want it and then choose Copy Here as Values Only,

    I use (and already knew) a lot of the tips you show in your video. But what I find a real time-saver as well sometimes is by using the QAT. I've put a lot of usefull commands in there e.g. Paste Values, Paste Formats, Clear Formats, Select visible cells, Paste formulas and many more. And easy to export those settings and import on another PC

    Hi Mynda,
    Those are very helpful tips; there is a typo in Tip 23 @ 4:22 cmd+t and the same in Tip29 @ 5:12. This command is for a table but is incorrectly labelled for the Freeze pane. I am interested in knowing the shortcut, however.
    Thanks a lot!!

    Monday, thank you again for another great video. I just purchased my first MacBook Air but have read the Excel doesn't have full functionality. Do you recommend purchasing a windows laptop instead? If anyone has recommendations please share.

      😬sheesh! If you want to use Power Query to automate the gathering and cleaning of data, or Power Pivot to model and work with big data, then I'd definitely get a Windows laptop. The alternative is to install Parallels on the Mac and install Excel for Windows on there. Not sure how annoying this would be though.

    Do you think, it is hard and time taking to adapt to the Excel in Mac ??

    • @MyOnlineTrainingHub
      @MyOnlineTrainingHub  8 месяцев назад

      Oh no! If you want to use Power Query to automate data cleaning and Power Pivot to analyse data, then forget the Mac. Or at least be prepared to install a virtual Windows machine with Parallels or similar so you can install Windows Excel.

    I love shortcut keys it cuts down on the need to move your hand from the keyboard to the mouse also, unfortunately, I am old enough to remember using computers before the mouse was a standard feature, I still find myself going for the old alt key codes to get to the menus or rather ribbon these days!

      Me too, although I also made my own personal ribbon for the functions I use most. But most users are probably not aware of that option, or they don't care. For me it saves plenty mouse movements (and therefore time) by itself to a level acceptable for me to use the mouse. Still, some short cuts are here too stay.

    • @roywilson9580

      @@ndeekaYes the ribbon has made it far easier to navigate to commands than the old way of doing it from the menu items where it might be three or four levels deep. I still find it quicker and less disturbing to my work flow to go for the keyboard shortcuts though.

    👍👍👍👍 F12 - wow I didn't know that. The new save as is awful combined with OneDrive as only hard disk folders are offered and none of the quick access links I set up on Explorer are available. thankyou - Thankyou - THANKYOU
    Control-a is vastly underused. Likewise ctrl-r/d which can also be used on a single cell to copy the cell from the left / above.
    You undersell F4. It does not only do the ctrl-y job of un -un doing. It repeats an action as well.
    So a formatting action can be done on one cell, then another cell or range and yet another with F4.

    I am confused with showing absolute and relative references on a Mac your video says cmd+t but this brings up the dialogue box for creating a table. What am I doing wrong

    • @MyOnlineTrainingHub
      @MyOnlineTrainingHub  3 месяца назад

      The F4 equivalent on a Mac should be Cmd+t. However, the cell must be in edit mode, or you need to have your cursor in the formula bar for Cmd+t to toggle absolute references.
