    "...And.. Oh well... She's a character from the books in case you want to play as her". Hahaha!! Super funny that you didn't want to say Night Bitch's name out loud! XD

      just fyi, i personally don't have a problem with it (IRL i curse like a sailor). it's just a lot of families watch my show, so i'm sensitive to that :)

      @@rahdo not really a family game, tho is it? Haha But whatever pays the bills, i guess...

      @@KXC42069 i wouldn't recommend this for families, no, but how will they know if they don't watch the video, so i try to keep the videos family friendly even when the game isn't necessarily...

    Nice rundown. Just ordered it... and it was on sale! Kick-Ass is the comic that got me back to reading comics 10 years ago, so I'm thankful you picked it to cover.

    Not only the tile sound already promising but the game mechanic is so lovely done , so much connections to the movie theme :) time of day, daily problem and being a hero is just sound like a game for me.

    The symbol on the event card you use as "kill 2 minions" actually is "reduce spawn track by 2"

    Thanks Rahdo.
    Quick question, between this and CMON's last worker placement you did 'Way of the Panda', which is a better game, and why? thanks. :)

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  5 лет назад +2

      way of the panda is less than ideal with 2, so for me KA is the better choice. but if you're playing at higher player counts, or don't like hard hard co-ops, panda is the better choice :)

    I didn't know there was emphasis on the personal life and not just being a superhero. I am suddenly much more interested in this. But it is dark so playing this with my daughter and family around is a miss. Also the combat seems so generic compared to the rest of it.

  • @Jukejointjeze0n

    Its so strange that you would run this down, and not look at Street Masters. (Personally, I think SM is a better game.)

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  6 лет назад +5

      what attracted me to the game was the equal emphasis on the player hero's personal life. street masters doesn't have anything like that afaik

    • @Jukejointjeze0n
      @Jukejointjeze0n 6 лет назад

      Steet Masters does have a "Story" mode, but it only explains backstory, it dosnt provide much player choice in this area.

    I did not like this game. I reviewed it on my channel and did not recommend it. Mostly because it has so many points of luck mixed with extreme difficulty and 3/4 of your time is spent shuffling cards and resetting the board and so little time is spent actually playing. Also the game did not need a giant board with giant cards and minis. This could have been a 20$ game with tokens since the minis dont add to anything. I was so disappointed.

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  6 лет назад +10

      i saw your video actually, and you're making a big mistake while playing. you said that as your training track rises, you lose the lower bonuses as you earn the higher ones, but that's not the case. they're cumulative. so if you've been playing as you described, you're making the game much tougher than it's supposed to be :)
      the minis are cool, imo. but it is a game from cool mini or not, so no surprise there.
      i'm not sure what you mean about 3/4rs of the game spent shuffling and resetting... if you're talking about setup, i didn't find it too bad. but then i don't meticulously separate every single token type into a separate pile like you're doing... i just put em all in a bag and dump them into a pile and grab them as i need them, so setup is pretty quick for me.

    • @Memoriesofwe
      @Memoriesofwe 6 лет назад

      @@rahdo yeah I have been making it much harder on myself. I will try that and see if it makes a large difference. I did think the setup was a bit excessive but only because the game runs pretty short and a long set up for a short game seems counter to what you would expect. You are right about the 3/4 thing, I shouldn't be hyperbolic. It isn't as bad as that what I was referring to is every round you have to scoop up the store and the action cards and redo new ones. Same thing with beating 3 event cards and having to put out boss ones. But the game is so fast as I move here and play this and then next round...so it feels like you spend more time shuffling and dealing than you actually do strategizing. Also, I love the minis. I just dont think this game needs them as there is so much wasted space on that board.
      I think I am more harsh on this game as I really wanted to love it and I found it underwhelming. But I did say it is like a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. So not Bad more in the above average mark.
