I'm so glad this video allows for comments. This is exactly the kind of videos I wish I had access to coming up. The whole industry needs more video series like this. No theory, no arts interpretations, no hidden sales agenda. What is the job? how do I do it? This is how you train competent technicians. These videos will be seen by a very very small group of people, but those who do will have been given a masters class on the subject. I don't know Libby, but she should be congratulated for providing this public service to the industry. 👏👏👏

The Spot Map was so helpful, saves confusion, and time. I normally would be involved with changeover, getting to the FOH desk with moments to spare to speak to the spot ops with specific instruction for REO's show. Libby and her preparation in this way made my life way easier.

Thanks for all your kind words of appreciation. Comments were left 'on' for this video alone by accident (because I really don't want this turn turn into either a fan- or flame- fest) and will probably be turned off for subsequent vids, but I appreciate the support for these ongoing efforts of mine! Stay tuned, & see you all down the Road.

This is a great series of videos Libby. Thanks, its very valuable information. I think it will help a whole bunch of people. My spot calling days are probably over but I really appreciate hearing talented and smart people speaking. You have great logistical and people skills. Cheers/

Very much appreciate the ability to post a comment. As someone else has mentioned, this series is nothing short of a Master Class for LDs. Your down-to-earth series should appeal to folks in ALL areas of production. Although I've not had the chance to work with any large touring shows for the last 40 years, I found this entire series to be positively fascinating. I look forward to more...I find them enjoyable and relaxing. If you ever tire of the rigors of the road you will make an outstanding lecturer & teacher.

I am now retired after about 35 years in the industry. I now am volunteering with some Community Theater groups. I am attempting to train some high school and college students in the dark arts of theater tech, those things they will not learn in college, but are essential to getting and keeping a job in our industry. Your videos are indeed a master class. Not just for lighting, but for how to think about production and coordination with the people you encounter every day while on tour. I will be sharing these.

I'm delighted if they help your student apprentices. That's the whole point of this exercise, and it's gratifying to know it wasn't wasted time, Micheal. I commend your volunteer training efforts!

Libby! These videos are great. I'll never forget working with you, years ago at the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield OH near Cleveland.
I appreciated your talent and professionalism. From expanding the house 120k parcan rig with you, to the focus, and finally having the honor of being a spot op for you on show. You're on the list of mine for top notch LDs, and that's over my 15 years thus far in the buisness.
Thank you for carrying the torch all these years!!!
    -Victoria, Cleveland.

I am not an LD or spot operator ( not yet), so I found your series very informative about what I should expect from a professional. Please continue.
