THOUGHTS ON THE MIXSTREAM PRO
This is Numark’s new all-in-one controller and it works off of the newly updated Engine 2 DJ software from inMusic (the company that owns Numark and Denon DJ).
As its name implies, the Mixstream Pro allows DJs to play from streaming services. You can stream from services like Beatport, Beatsource, Soundcloud, and Tidal. You can also stream from your dropbox account. It has onboard wifi and does not require a computer. It’s a stand-alone device.
For this mix, I’m playing music from an SD card. It also has two USB ports for music sources, one of which I used to record the mix with its built-in recording feature.
Selling for $600 USD, this device certainly is impressive.
The Mixstream also has internal speakers which I love. They are pointed towards the DJ which make them great for jamming alone or to use as monitors. They are loud enough for a small party in a dorm room or hotel room, but you would want external speakers for anything more than that.
The pitch faders on this device are very short. I thought I wouldn’t mind them, but they are a bit annoying.
My biggest complaint about the Mixstream Pro is the lack of control for effects. You get, echo, delay, flange, and phase but there is no ability to control the wet/dry on these.
Instead, you get a paddle-style switch to on or hold which has become popular for battle DJs but is much less useful for someone mixing house or techno. As you might guess, the flange and phase sound cheesy.
Hopefully, they will address this in a firmware update offering more effects and control. One option could be to use the filter knob and turn it into a Pioneer-style color effects knob.

Game changer in DJ tech.
I recently purchased the Mixstream Pro and wanted to share a mix so you could see it in action. It's a very capable device, though I hope they improve upon its FX settings.
Great set....is the mixstream a good deal?
@@robertomanuelmelocarvalho4582 it's a good deal for what it is, for sure. For me, I think I still prefer using a Pioneer controller with Rekordbox software because I prefer using a laptop to DJ. If you have a laptop to DJ with, I'd still suggest using a controller with Serato or RekordBox. If you don't have a laptop or just don't want to use one, then the Mixstream is an excellent option.
Did the ever update the effects so that you could adjust the parameters?

Hi Helado. I'm not sure if I will buy a power bank for it. I might just DJ from my porch and that has power outlets. It's winter now so no outdoor parties. I also may sell it as I own so many controllers. We shall see!

this controller read bpm variable for example 90-130 and show the change of this bpm in the screen?
What did you use too get the audio to sound clear through camera
My set up for this video is as follows:
Main camera: iphone 12 mini
Second camera: Akaso Brave 4k (crappy action camera)
Audio: recorded inside the Mixstream Pro on a USB drive.
Then I use a free video editor (Davinci Resolve) to sync up the audio recorded directly from the mixer to the two video tracks. So basically, you aren't hearing any audio from the camera. It's all directly from the mixer.
I could have used something like the Roland Go Mixer and record the audio straight to the iphone but my Go Mixer stopped working for some reason.
Can I save my cue points, loops, and grid edits with tracks that are streamed?
I no longer have the unit so I can't say from firsthand experience. But I googled the answer and Numark says yes. Link and text are listed below.

Hi friend ! what do you think of the numark mixtream, is it reliable and robust??
i sold it a long time ago because I already own so much gear. It seemed like it would be reliable, but it's not as sturdy as something like the pioneer xdj series.

are the build in speakers loud enough to use it as booth monitor in partys?

They would work as monitors for a small house party and it helps that they are pointed at the DJ. Depending on the overall volume of your mains, they may get drowned out easily. I mix so much inside my headphones so it's not something I've tested out.
@@LeftCat my last gig was a bday party in a bar and they were 2 crap speakers in the end of the room and me djing on the other side of the room. I think a Controller with build in speakers would be good in a Situation like this😂

Cool. Love this deck. Pretty basic but solid set. Maybe learn some basic scratches? Shorter cuts work better too but obviously a lot more work but it gives you a lot more opportunities to do some killer transitions! Def subbing though!

I used Davinci Resolve for video editing. It’s free and amazing. Lots of tutorials on RUclips for it too.
