Steelseries Rival 600 Anniversary Review EDIT: (DON'T BUY, READ DESCRIPTION)

- Опубликовано: 12 янв 2019
- EDIT: SADLY I have gotten MANY reports from viewers that the new side grips are coming loose already. As I am in a colder country I don't notice it as much but if you are in a hot environment the glue comes loose much faster. So be careful or just don't buy!

Why do I watch reviews after I purchase the items lol
Because nobody can Wait for the reviews to come out. Also to verify if others support your decision. This is what people do when they want the best value for their money. I do it all the time
Sander Cokart fair, got the mouse btw. Amazing
Also the RGB is updated, I feel like it has a lot more option now, then mentioned in the video but the video is a little older haha
I wonder how much they changed...to my eye not a whole lot
Bruhhh. I thought you'd have a couple hundred thousand subs. My word I got a shock. Best of luck to you! I loved the vid :D
Awesome!!!!
That means alot to me 🥰
Hey great review !! Now considering buying it..Thanks and good luck !!!!!!
Thank you!!! Sorry for late response busy working. :)
I like your videos mate, i just bought this mouse and cant wait to try it, ive been using a logitech G402 since my mouse broke and feel relieved to have this on the way now, cheers
You're welcome mate!
I love reviews that have some age behind them. Much more reliable than 'first impression' reviews.
Question- After a year, how are the surfaces? Anything I've owned with silicone gets gummy and sticky.
Yup exactly so don't forget to recommend your friends ;)
I thought of buying the logitech Hero but becuae of what you just told me ill go with the rival. Thanks! You deserve more than 100k subs
Thank you! With your continued support it's possible!
Enjoy the side grips falling off within 4-6 months!
Already mentioned
@@insanity4082 well i can say this is true..i bought my rival 600 last year and the side grips have fallen off already...switched back to the g502 hero...sad
this mouse is trash ive owned for a year
I love your channel keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!
You really give depths in your video BTW that is nice
Thank you I do it with pleasure!
Lived with grips coming off for a while now but it became unbearable, although I love the mouse itself. I just contacted support a few moments ago. How they solve this issue is going to determine whether or not I'll buy a SteelSeries product again.
Most likely you will get free replacements.
I know this sounds cliche but thank you so much for making this video i just purchased this mouse after some saving (broke high school student and all) and was hoping to not regret it. Your video was so much more in depth than any other video i could find not just showing the mouse but the whole software attached with it and all again great video earned a sub and a like 👍🏻
Thank you!! Appreciate it ^^
Any further questions I'm here
You will regret it if steelseires didn't fix that glue problem...
@@sh1r4ko73 got the mouse yesterday and ive yet to have any issues
@@corymccloskey1709 No but steelseries uses a glue that can melt at body temperature so unless they've fixesd that problem at their factory you'll have to buy new grips (as an example i had to replace my rubber grips with hockey grips)
Now of course it took me quite a while to melt nltice that I was melting those grips (3-4 months actually)
Mine are still fine as you can see haha
well cant you just sniff the glue and after that reglue the sidegrips?
Sooo i can set the mouse button 6 like 0 or something on my keyboard and set 0 to yeet a nade ingame?
Yup
My right click on the mouse clicks but doesn’t respond. Only responds when I click it on angles or when I press very hard on it. Can I pry open the right click? Or will it break it. Any solutions?
uh.....probably gunk under it. Try and disassemble it
Nice review, does it always come with a mouse pad in the box when sold?
At checkout with steelseries!
Not at retailers!
Sander Cokart thanks
I bought rival 600 after using the Rival 700 for more that 3 years (2.5/3 years I think)
I like the Rival 700 but I can't say I am satisfied. First of all the mouse is extremely heavy, it took me quite some time to get used to that.
The most important thing to note is that my rival 700 is actually a fire hazard and I'm not even joking. One day I left my PC on for 30-45 mins and went out to do something, when I returned I immediately noticed heavy electrical burn smell from my room. I went to check everything, unplugged every single thing in my room, of course I never thought the mouse was the problem. I put my hand on it and it was so hot that it burned me, I don't know what type of plastic Steelseries is using but it wasn't melted. So I unplug it, place it on the balcony and waited for a few hours before I tryed to see if it's dead. And it was. After two days I tried again and it worked, the only thing is that the oled display or whatever kind of display it is got fried. Searching Reddit I found people with the exact same problem sa there are Rival 700 mouses that might start a fire sometime lol. Still works fine to this day and gets slightly warm which is pretty nice during winter
I hope rival 600 won't turn the same for me
Great review
You're welcome !! You don't know how much it means to me that you love the review ^^
"Gets slightly warm which is pretty nice during winter"
So its a feature not a bug?
I live in California and I’ve had my rival 600 for 3 years now no issue no grip getting loose no issues at all.
i have this mouse for about 1 and half year now.
this thing was awsome until the glue under the sillicone grips started seeping out.
now and again i got that gunk on my thumb and the two programmable buttons.
it's a mess to clean up.
I also know they fixed it.

@@SanderCokart here's hoping i still have warranty
Was plannin on buying this mouse today for £80, but after hearing about the glue issues am having second thoughts. Would anyone still recommend it?
Yes I just bought it mines coming Tomorrow, so I would still highly recommend buying it. I live in England, and not many people have glue issues, you can always replace the glue with stronger adhesive
Mine just broke after 6 months sensor is working but nothing is responding
Damn.... unusual
can you please help me with buying mouse should i buy this or logitech g502 hero or g403 or g203 or old g502 and great review btw
I am only familiar with this one, but considering steelseries has the same sensor with an addition depth sensor....I'd go with steelseries
@@SanderCokart thanks bro
You're welcome!
I already know ur dutch cuz i am too nice job man i bought the mouse 1 week ago and i love it
Great! But there are glue issues
@@SanderCokart bro just glue it back lol
True but eh free replacements
Hey what would be the best way to clean the 600? If you have cleaned it before that is
Just water nothing else and just hold the grips in place don't rub hard use smooth cloth
Rubbing alcohol
Wait I don't understand why they send weights like who would lift up his mouse. Can you tell me more about it
I said in the video that some people do it when they have limited desk space, also some people lift it up to adjust aim or to stop tracking completly
Many people play at quite a low sensitivity so may not be able to completely turn around in one swipe.
My palm sweats a lot during gaming so I used 2 sidepanels in 1 year. you can purchase them at the steelseries website for 10 € and the delivery is pretty fast. I personally dont care if the glue comes off after a while, when the sidepanels are replaceable. Imagine they were not. I still like the mouse, because it fits well and its precise as hell when playing fps.
You can get free replacement too
Hey did your buttons feel a bit heavy at 1st?
No not at all...
How do you like it now? Have you moved to new mice such as the model o or is this still your favourite?
I still use this one, no reason to swap. I ain't not reviewer with so much money he has a closet of different mice for different situations haha (yet)
Sander Cokart do you think this mouse is good for fortnite? Should i get this or logitech g403 hero? Mostly gonna play fortnite/apex/csgo
It damn well should be having 2 sensors one of which is legendary. How ever it had to fit your particular hand.
does anyone know what another mouse with 3 side buttons?
Sadly...can only think of Moba mice. with like 8 buttons on the side.
which shud i buy , rival 600 vs logitech g 502
Hear alot of good things about g502. Depends if you want more mouse liftoff contol
I NEED HELP!!!!! I cant find a solution to my problem. I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE MOUSES and they BOTH HAVE PROBLEMS!!!! The first one stopped working 5 mins after plugging it in. The 2nd one worked fine for 3 days then just stopped working. Losses calibration every 5 seconds. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Engine, created new configs etc etc etc and SteelSeries wont offer any solution to the mouse losing calibration... I hold down the CPI button EVERYTHING AND NO SOLUTION. Turned off all power management options in windows...... I LOVE THIS MOUSE but its such a major let down breaking in less than a week of use even the 2nd one I ordered.....
I'd first check your USB connections in that case. Or your system in general. This shouldn't happen. Plain simple.
Sander Cokart thanks for reply. I tried everything.
Where did u buy the mouse from?
Yeah it's probably the USB
Have you ever had the weird feeling when gripping the rival 600, when it feels "dry/dusty", but then it's fine when your palm gets sweaty???
Nah I only sweat from armpits haha not my hands.
@@SanderCokart Am i the only one with hairy palms then?
@@filipfilipache4204 your not the only one 🙈
@@FMK1317 Glad I'm not alone, I switched from rival 600 to g305. The g305 is better for my dry hands.
Ive been using the mouse for around 2 years all you have to do is go to a PC place and ask them to remove the glued on side buttons and it works GREAT the only flaw is fixed
so is it really worth it or should i go for the Rival 300?
i mean i heard a lot of bad stuff about the materials used and that the rival 300 is nearly the same!
The rival 600 adhesive issues have been solved according to customers. As far as I can tell by my comments. you should take a look I also made a video about them being fixed, it's a great mouse tho, what is the price of the 300 in your region?
@@SanderCokart i mean im in Egypt so im not sure if you'll be familiar with the currency but it's not really expensive :)
Ah like so, wel do whatever you prefer the extra sensor is neat
I have both and to quickly sum it up, get the Rival 600. Stopped using the Rival 300 because I had severe sensor "spin off" problems. Replaced it with the Rival 600 and cannot look back at the 300. Both are good mice, and if anything I actually prefer the Rival 300 shape. But the problems I encountered with the Rival 300, along with the better/updated sensor and technology of the 600, I would definitely rec the Rival 600. Cheers
Anfurns1 thanks for the reply ❤️
Do the side grips always come off. I'm about to buy the mouse but I'm scared they'll come off
They will come off b one day
do u accidentally click the third mouse sidee button?
Never haha it's too far away to accidentally got the 3rd side button
After using this mouse for 4-5months and I already feel glue from side grips and they are going to falling down every moment.
Sorry man
Is it still good for third person shooter games or no?
Depends which one, it can definitely handle.some AAA games
I miss battlefield heroes :(
i was lucky to get the rival 650 for 83$ instead of 119$, that was a damn good deal
I just bought it for 50$ :D
@@malikkhiat6221 nice ! was it the 650 on amazon ?
Neat!
Im so blessed that I bought this mouse for only 49 euros brand new
That's awesome!!

If I put superglue on the side grips, will something happen?
Rather use warranty
The side grips will wear off quickly if you are using mouse in high room temperature.
hey man great video, can you give me an update do you still use it now and if you do is everything still good ? i am thinking about buying it it's 70 euro where i live, thanks
I do still have it I had to replace the side grips once what if I were you I would get immediate replacements for free once they break down, if they break down as SteelSeries has claimed that they have fixed the issue
@@SanderCokart nice thank you will do, also i have 17 x 9.5cm hands and i use palm grip do you think this mouse will fit my hands well or are they too small ?
that is almost same size as mine so no haha its fine!
@@SanderCokart For the record, I have just ordered replacements for my 600 that I've had for just over a year, and asked if they have fixed the issue. Their response was "unfortunately, no improvements has been made at the moment.", so that claim 8 months ago wasn't true... Well hey at least they're replacing it for free
@@JungleHunger sucks man

Yeahhhhhh oopsie
Can I bind or set mouse button 6 as left click hold toggle on and off?
I use it for survival games that require intense left clicking lol
You can set a macro on it yes
@@SanderCokart can you try it for yourself? I have a redragon mouse that has extra buttons but I can't use them for my exact needs. I would also like to have a keyboard button hold such as W hold toggle so I could afk in rpg games.
Skyrim does have Auto walk haha but I'll look yes
Could also use Auto hotkey
@@SanderCokart I find Auto hotkey hard to use so I'm dependent on the brand's software.
I used to have a Razer Deathadder and their software had that toggle feature. I'm assuming SteelSeries and other high end brands like Logitech have those features as well now but I'm just making sure cos its my second high end mouse to try with Rival 600.
My rival's right click is faulty ,luckly it's still in warranty 🤣so, I've to wait for a couple of weeks/month to get it repaired 😅
Happy for you!
my right click is faulty to DO NOT BUY A RIVAL MOUSE THEY ARE TRASH
I thought you are 800k . not 800! Good luck on youtube's wilderness.
Btw I already bought one like 1 day ago.
Thank you man! Appreciate it!
There is a lot of hardwork on this video tho
People think i am cheating, while I am using this mouse. why is that ?
please comment down below.
🤣🤣🤣 no idea 😉
Maybe it has good accuracy
im thinking of bying steel series rival 600
Might wanna hold off on that. The rubber side grips keep falling off for people.
if you just like the way your mouse looks then get a apple as all apple are crap but they look good and you can tell if someone does not know about computers when they have apple i look for a mouse that does it's job i have the rival 600 dont like it the buttons on the side are so little the rival 300 is a very good mouse i did have the rival 710 but that stuffed up the first rival that did that have some razer mouse but all are crap as the keyboards are crap too
I have no regrets at all when it comes to this mouse, although it didn't improve my aim like my gaming chair did :/
Haha ergonomics is key!
Lol
With the side grips you can buy them off of amazon
Still advice not to buy them in the first place uaha
Sander Cokart is there a other mouse that is like it
One with 2 sensors? No but Logitech has great things and razers new ambidextrous mice are nice but gotta love synapse software.
Sander Cokart they sell the replacement grips like the whole side panel both for 10$
This mouse is amazing! its so accurate, SteelSeries products are really awesome.

You obviously haven't gone in depth in the software. You have a lot of diffrent modes if you customize it properly. Good review anyways.
Im sorry I covered everything I could see as useful. Please tell me what I missed? Maybe I'll include it in year 2 review. 😅
@@SanderCokart I sure can:
- Although you did cover that there are individual lighting zones on the LED's, you did not show us the possibilities of them.
- In the colorshift option you can put on the "wave/rainbow spectrum mode" that you said were missing. Not only that, but this mode looks, imo, way better than on other mice available, as you can choose yourself which way the rainbow goes, and in what way it spreads (hope that made sense...)
- (This connects to the layer/lighting zones): You can stack the diffrent modes (Steady, Colorshift etc.) in the diffrent lighting zones at the same times.
- This is more of a "personal" thing, but imo you didn't tell us how good and saturated the colors on this mouse's RGB zones look.
I think you try tweeking that colorshift option a bit more, cuz holy sh*t does it look good!
Do you still like this?
Yes !
