I saw them for the first time at Madison Square Garden December 18, 1973 I believe this concert at Anaheim was five months later of course on the same tour I had all their albums up to the up to that time but when they opened up with hoedown and Toccata and then this masterpiece tarkus people around us could not believe what we were seeing and of course the absolute unbelievable quad system which they’ll never be the likes again. Show me years later my friend met an engineer who helped with ELP‘s quad system from what I gathered from him Emerson demanded the best of the best when it came to Quad and they got it and the sound and you know the rest the only crime if you call it that is why they didn’t film this brain salad surgery tour but the live album is one of the best live albums ever recorded you folks and Anaheim California we’re lucky that they recorded it there but it would’ve been just as good at Madison Square, Garden this era of music will be studied many many years to come and also one last thing aquatarkus keyboard players agree this is the best analog synthesizer solo ever recorded that’s a fact like in that show the No brag just fact take care everybody we’re getting healthier hope everything gets better stay safe God bless Emerson Lake and Palmer forever
Big run-on sentence there, Dude... :) Right agree- and it took months of live playing to flesh the Aqua- part of this song out- it was real hit and more miss early on. Palmer is just astonishing- nothing on Earth like his playing here.
I was there with my girlfriend who would be my wife. I haven't seen anyone comment on this but there are clearly parts of the live album that were not performed at the Anaheim concert. Whether things were altered in the studio or other parts of other concerts were added I have no clue. I can't be the only one who has noticed this!
they gave so much to us
Keith and Greg, God bless your souls. And long live to you, Carl.
Still listen to this performance to this day. Love it. Thank you.

Not many rock bands could match this talent level. Especially live. ElP were the shit! ☮️
I can think of exactly one band as talented but in a different manner: Kansas. ELP are my number one and Kansas number two
Merci via ELP 🎵🎹🎹🎹🎺☘🎶🎤
Emerson was a genius.
that s an all out assault
Wasn't this on an official release?
