    I have painted my set thus far. I have warmed up quite a bit to the stain. I like the plainness and detail is less. It is more about the person represented than the carving

      I agree wholeheartedly. That danish oil and wax has a timeless feel to it.

    Put a small cup of water on your white board to dip in then you won't have to keep reaching across your left hand.
