  • How to repair a dead battery and extend it's life. I fixed a more than 6 years old dead battery with an Intelligent Pulse Repair Charger. I bought it on Amazon. It has some special features such as desulfurization and pulse repair charging. You can fix an AGM/GEL, WET, and Standard lead acid batteries.

    After first 2 charges and no light I felt disappointing ☹️ but when you put 70ml water and light showed up a little bit I was like 👀🤔 and then when light started getting stronger and brighter I jumped from happiness 👻🤩👍

    Amazing. I didn't know that you could get to the cells in this way. I have just successfully rejuvinated an old battery and saved money. Cells were very dry. Thank you.

    Another great video. Keep it up. Unfortunately you can not add water to gel batteries. How much remaining capacity has the repaired 30 Ah battery ? Real test would be to discharge with 1.5 A constant current and see how many hours can perform? compared to the factory rating 30Ah / 20Hr

    Very well done video explaining how to use this charger and how effective the charger can be. Including the relevant instruction page for each step you took adds a lot. A question: the six year old battery where you broke the top to expose the small caps. Was that a supposedly "sealed" battery? If so, I assume that it was not designed to be refilled and recharged and repaired the way you demonstrated. So you took a battery that would have been thrown in the bin and gave it new life? Bravo!

      As per manufacturer's instruction, we have to throw it in a recycle bin. But this is like we make an antique car to run for few more years.

    Thanks so much for your video! Found it because I had just received exact same charger and also trying to restore dead sealed 12v. I'm only getting 0.2V from my battery though and when I connect the device it just flashes the battery symbol and never enters pulse mode or DFS. Just pried it open and found the caps but not sure how much good that will do if I am getting no current from the charging device

      Some chargers will not start to charge unless the battery has some voltage output. You can get it to start by attaching the charger to the dead battery and then using booster cables to connect another good battey to the dead battery for a couple of seconds to fool the charger into starting.

      Try tapping the battery on the ground to knock down any debris that might be shorting it. Repaired a battery that did just that, just a few quick taps on the floor pulsed it for 24hrs and now it takes and holds a charge for at least two or three days.

    does it work on lawn mower batteries ? Amazon says in their description it works on lawn mower batteries, having to charge my automobile for a dead battery that is reconditioned. Hoping it will recharge it during these cold spells we're having right now. Cold, then a hot warm up. It's taken it's toll on the battery itself.

    Is this an AGM sealed battery? Mine shows 12,7v but not crank(5 yrs old).
    70 ml water to each cell isnt too much for a dry - maintenance free battery - that is supposed to not have extra liquid out of the sponges or it will absorb - evaporate?

    • @SKILFULLIFE
      @SKILFULLIFE  6 месяцев назад +2

      Gel type sealed battery. The excess water after absorbed completely by the cells will evaporate. But, there should not be too much water.

      Add some distilled water and wait for 10 minutes, see the water level, if it needs more water, add more until it stays on the right level. Then connect the battery charger and start with repair cycle, also leave the caps off. Once the repair cycle is done, it will automatically start charging cycle.

    • @richardlouie2922
      @richardlouie2922 2 года назад +1

      You may have to run the repair cycle multiple times with a discharge cycle in between each repair cycle. The repair cycle stops once the battery has been overcharged to approx 15.85V so if the battery is already 'full', the charger will stop the repair cycle early.

    Interesting video, but I would have preferred a verbal narration rather then the background music. Using repair mode probably raises the voltage level to 16 volt spikes like a Noco Genius 5 and 10 or CTEK charger uses when doing a repair or reconditioning, which can boil off electrolyte.

    • @richardlouie2922
      @richardlouie2922 2 года назад +1

      The 10A has more available current to charge the battery but most people will rarely use that as the 10A is really only available for charging if the battery is close to empty. However, the 10A does have a desulfation mode which the 8A doesn't. IMHO, while the desulfation mode is included, it may not run long enough to do much good. Besides, according to a white paper on high-frequency pulse charging (ie the repair mode), that does desulfate batteries rather effectively as well.

If it was that easy, Trump would still be president of the USA and all of his moronic, self absorbed neophytes who hopped on his bandwagon just to get likes on Facebook left by other neophytes who bent over to grab their ankles as Trump assumes the position as he gleefully dropped his trousers while singing "This is how I make America great again, one asshole at a time."
