Forgot to mention but I was also getting the VIP xp bonus here. So if not VIP you won't start quite at 26 by turning in all epic sagas with ship buff, voice and sovereign XP pot but will still get a huge benefit.
Axel do you think this idea came about as a result of a lack of available content in the lower epics? My group struggles with this range of questing every time we take 20 🤔
@@AxelAlexK hahahaha yes. I guess I mean that SSG needs to make sure the next expansion provides more content for levels with fewer available quests…and well-balanced gear that suits most players and rivals the stuff at level 10 and 16. I’m a pretty new player but even I see that there’s a serious gap and thank you for offering us a way to be more successful 🤍
@@r8chlletters There is a lot of content at endgame compared to early epics but honestly I have never thought of it as much of a problem since you can in epics run stuff at a wider range so can just run the endgame or mid epic stuff at a lower difficulty if at 20 and you don't want to run house d/red fens/house p/motu/ect. But yeah hope this helped you. I have been thinking of making this video for a while so the idea isn't related to that.
I would also recommend not powering yourself directly to 26, get yourself to 23 where you have most of your solid abilities using the smallest available of the sagas and slayers which will get you there while cashing in at least your Pirates of the Thunder Sea, Perils of Cormyr, Menace of the Underdark, The End of Eberron, The Planeswalker's Path. This allows you to safely redo those lv 20-21 quests to restock those sagas for another life, and gain plenty of exp to probably get you towards 25-26. Then cash in your Gianthold to play through that and restock its saga for next life. Use the saga exp to super charge you to the highest level that you can still get full exp bonuses for running those saga quests again. It would feel like such a waste to plow through to 26 and then have it hurt your exp to do that lower level saga content again because you can't enter Reaper or are too high lv to get bravery for EE. Space out your saga exp gain so that you are constantly boosting yourself rather than over shooting
I ended up farming a L20 set of Epic gear from Saltmarsh which is letting me tackle R1 as a L20 for Gianthold L24 quests with relative ease but I can see both strategies helping your lower 20’s Epic levels.
Thanks for the Vid, Something to think about tbh, I have done this in the past but only to claim guild renown so I did all heroics and Epics I think there were 27 of them altogether, I claimed the sagas to get my guild up 7 levels which took me to lvl 70 where I was able to get all buffs and 5% xp which was nice. Forgot to say, the only thing i don't like about Epic TR's is having to redo everything from lvl 1 again, why can't they make it from lvl 20.
I save all my sagas during a heroic life and turn them in after sharn 2, drinking an xp pot at the end of reach for the sky. Then I run wheelon which usually nets me lvl 20. The pot persists through reincarnation, so I can go 18-5 with only one pot per life.
I agree it is a good strategy. I was farming reaperpoints and epic lives at end game and was using the sagas for the next epic life. Otherwise that end game saga is wasted XP
Something I've wondered about but didn't really want to try in-game is what happens to Heroic saga rewards if you leave them until Epics and try to claim them at lvl 21+?
It treats it the same as the xp stones you get from daily free roll. I have also checked epic saga turnins at legendary levels and they work as well. (I'm doing 1-30)
I guess if you already have all the gear, tomes, and sentient gems and are just trying to speed through epic past life completions it's fine. Assuming you start the same quests over again and earn xp while earning the the saga completions it seems like a good strategy to skip those lower epic levels. Maybe I'll consider this when XP is the most important thing to chase down. I've actually been enjoying some older content while my character is at L20 with Epic Saltmarsh gear where I can tackle reaper mode on higher level quests for some extra challenge.
I have never read or heard of there being an exception, but admittedly have never tested. Either way I'm not sure why you wouldn't just go ahead and take levels in between claiming the sagas. I guess in the rare situation you'd want to take sagas to benefit from an XP pot but stay at a lower level to run stuff for bravery bonus or something a player may want to do this. Would have to test to see if you don't lose XP.
@@AxelAlexK In Eveningstar, where a lot of the sagas are grouped, I prefer to take them all at once. I agree it makes sense to take the level before going to another place (Gianthold to Eveningtar for instance).
@@AxelAlexK This is from the DDO Wiki: "Usually, once you reach "cap", the max allowed, all other xp earned is wasted. However, it is possible to bank more than two levels. Experience from Daily Dice, Monster Manuals, and Saga rewards is known to exceed banking cap, but even regular quests sometimes allow you go beyond the cap." I've done it before a few years ago, but lately I've seen you and another RUclipsr say that it doesn't violate the cap rule, so I was just wondering it if changed.
@@carsonfball4 Interesting. Hmm, the wiki can be wrong and that's a bit vague of an entry. Would have to test but I'd say just take levels in between claims just to be safe. If you or someone else has tested it recently, perhaps on lamannia, l would be interested in seeing the results.
I have a video suggestion although it's a bit negative and kind of a hot button but some of the nerfs that came out in the last year were absolutely BS ...I would love a 100% objective take on these

I’d add (as someone who struggles with content in the early 20s) that starting epics at 26 and running them above level is really helpful.

I've been doing that with ETRs for years, but with the number of Legendary level sagas, it's become much better.
Wow i didnt think of this🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻tyvm sir
Prepping the slayers is HUGE XP bump
Epic TR is kinda the most fun part of the game. You can casually get your sagas and slayers preped over and over
i bank all the sagas even heroic and i get to lvl 28 with my ship buffs, vom and a 10% pot
Great to know about the slayer as well. Thanks
great stuff, Axel!

Makes sense. Thank you for confirming it. Now I'll hold all those saga stones to get a bit closer to lvl 24 or or so when Epics starts to be fun :)

3:25 I thought saga xp didn't follow the max xp rule for the purposes of banking. Did that change at some point?

Oh and farming borderlands for reaper shards, it was the only opportunity in the game to build a killer lowbie
do pots pause in public like guild renown does?
Yes, for any experience potion.
Sadly.. once you've done all your completionist lives.. all that's left is maxing reaper.. 😞
I will be a bit sad when epic lives are done. I like playing in epics so much. Can always roll an alt and do it all over again though!
