Hey Jolene… it’s all good. Chad builds customs! Period. If I wanted to watch someone ‘restore’ a car, I’d be tuning into a different channel. Do I agree with every modification that Chad comes up with? Of course not. But his passion and thought process intrigues me, so I keep coming back to see what he’s up to. And his imagination never disappoints! Keep at it Chad. I’m just an old car buff and I get to live vicariously through your show. Love it!
A 34 Ford being the "most modified" means that original condition cars are rare and will retain and gain value because original and unmessed with cars are great investments. However, it is your car and it's too late to go back because the originality has been lost. Sometimes, classic and vintage cars should be left alone because they are becoming more rare. Sadly, your 34 Ford will become just another 34 Ford custom. It's not negative, some of its advice.

I’ve been watching Bad Chad for a few years now and it seems that his skill level is going backwards. He’s always in a rush, he wants to do his builds on the cheap and most never get finished and he doesn’t invest in his workshop or his tools. But what really bugs me is his total disregard for health and safety, not only for himself but Fina and Jolene also, basic stuff like masks and safety glasses are very rarely used. In the long run it will catch up with him, a chunk of swarf could blind him in one eye or the dust or welding fumes could lead to copd in the long run..he’s not much of a roll model for kids watching the show. The pair of them do need to take comments seriously because at the end of the day we are the ones paying there wages
I totally agree. Personal protective items are an absolute imperative, wearing a mask or goggles might not be comfortable but you might regret it later in life. Jolene I don’t think you realize your argument for modifying the car is actually an argument for leaving it alone. So many have been modified and destroyed there cannot be much you can do to one that hasn’t been done before. Also since so many have been modified an unmodified car makes it that much more valuable.
Why wouldn’t you just enlarge the holes in the wood instead of grinding the pins. The pins are in the right place from the factory. And Jolene if you’re reading this comment , it’s just that “a comment” not a criticism. 👍👍🇨🇦
How many times did Chad say that the older guy was the wood guy who knew more about the wood than he did.. But yet every time the guy tried to suggest something different, Chad politely disagreed with him.. And that’s why so many people left him..
You are correct that these cars were very popular to customise but most were either half rotten already or it was when there were alot more of them around and not so original. Seems there is becoming less and less of these cars in this kind of condition so people have opinions. I could care less what you do with your cars but people criticising aren't haters or unhappy in my opinion. NO different then going to a car show and YOU see a car in a colour you don't like and you criticise the colour....does that make you a hater or a miserable person?? Last I checked it was ok to agree to disagree. Kinda shallow of you to put everyone in the same catagory because you don't agree in their opinion. Theres a problem when YOU want to silence opinions. It's called cancel culture. If your confidence level is that easily swayed by thoughts and opinions of others then you really wern't that confident to begin with. YOU cannot cancel your way to happiness. There will always be things in life that hurt you or make you feel insecure and unhappy and unworthy but manipulating reality isn't going to make you feel better, because it's not real. People grow from being criticised, they harden themselves to the controversy,to hard times, to the mean opinions, and they become invincible and untouchable. You don't need to silence the opinions of people who you don't agree with. If anything it should harden you not make you delicate. jmo
Basically, the only people who appreciate those cars anymore people like yourself that are in your 80s most people don’t even know what that car is nowadays other than the old fks like yourself.
I'm only speaking for myself but I think a lot of the controversy stems from the fact that anyone with a certain amount of skill and ability knows that when Chad customizes cars, it's a bit of a train wreck and he is far from the artist that he thinks he is. This is why it's upsetting to a lot of people. He takes a nice car with a lot of possibilities and pretty much destroys them. Yes, it's his car and he can do whatever he wants but real car people just want to puke.
Chad, when Derrick speaks take a deep breath and try and understand what he's saying before you brush him off. His suggestion about using a rat-tail file would have been a better option than using a die grinder.
@@MarkBindley-uc6zh If Derek had brought a rats-tail wood rasp with him, he would have used it. He wasn't too convincing in the expectation that Chad would have anything suitable. And, notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't have used one, I don't think Derek told Chad not to use the die-grinder. Mostly what I heard from Derek was ' yep - yep - yep ' !!
Use the comments you want and throw out the rest, right. Many commenters are car guys, fabricators and the like. When making content you open yourself up to criticism. I personally would have left the 34 alone and I am a Street Rod guy. Here's where I am going to jab you and Chad. Most car enthusiasts find a project, restore the project from ground up, Street Rod it or just get it running and drive it. Sadly, Chad is just a metal fabricator, he's not a mechanic, not an upholsterer, glass man or electrical guru. Many of us watching probably have more and nicer equipment than BC. We don't want to broadcast our projects across the web for money. It's monotonous and degrading to say the least. Nobody's perfect and everyone makes mistakes. But please don't blame your viewers for the snide comments. If it bothers, you both and don't take heed. Close the Comment Section.

I’m going to bet he took Saturday and Sunday off from making videos and relaxed a bit . Just because you’re watching a video on the weekend does not mean they worked 🤣🤣. They rarely ever film live.
Chad is all about building cars Jolene is truly all about just making the money so you can bet the 5-day vacation they had was strictly for money and look at the view when they came back on, they made more coming back for that one day than they did with they had to work the 5-days.
Jolene, tell Chad to go watch KillerKustoms video from the other day on how to successfully cut a windshield with a saw. They reference Chad, lol ............ but they actually have success unlike Chad's failed attempts. Chad can learn something, he can take what he likes and throw the rest away, lol.
@@Barrett50-j4h Wasn't plugging any other channel. I've watched Chad try to cut a windshield and also tempered glass with a saw to no success. The guy on that other channel I referenced had success doing it with a saw so maybe Chad can use that technique with the foam step in future builds if he cares to watch it and take from it what he likes and throw away the rest. Why are there so many nannies on this channel? I've personally cut numerous windshields using Pete Hagens rotozip method. I take what I like from U-tube and throw away the rest.
On the outset of this show we used to get the full process, ie, buy the vehicle, chop it, style it and put it together. Having done the chop, the body fill ,sanding and paint job took the vehicle to a completion . The comments then were mainly like and dislike of style or colour but with all said ,you had a completed displayable vehicle. During this period of creativity you made the decision that , " due to the drop in viewer strength" that people did not want to see the full process and, that you were discontinuing the finished product. Since then I think we have seen one vehicle completed, chocolate brown with myopia. But the comments were generally praisworthy. The "hate" that you describe in comments seem to have onset at the point where you decided that the viewers did not want to see completion and the executive decision was made without even considering the 75% of viewews that Did want to see the whole process. (It was still a good proportion of your viewer strength at the time [ 250k then]. You have encouraged, with marketing strategies, the troll element to fire the comments section. Sensationalised headlines and negative projection are also a big pull to onboard viewers. It is an age old technique, tried and tested. But, it does not hold a true capacity and,the reflection is the onboard of viewers that only view so that they can shout at you, plus those who are ired by the lack of completion and want to see a completed project at the outset. Just a statement of facts. 👍
Sometimes, there's the right tool for job. And not everything has to be forced, a metal file would be safer and produce better results on those windshield pins. When that grinder makes contact and kicks it's unforgiving. In my opinion you have an experienced word worker helping you. I'm 3 generation wood worker an enjoy being creative, along with metal working experience. You've got your hands full just figuring out how to contour and connect you materials. Like it or not Jolene, you and Chad are "influencers". Not just entertainers. That means a certain percentage of your audience is there not only to learn how to do things, but also to learn to do them correctly. Commenters criticizing something doesnt make them "haters". Taking a zip disc grinder to a complete "survivor" 34 Ford Cabriolet and destroying the window frame and windshield glass because you're in a hurry shows disrespect for the car and deserves comment. Especially when a preponderance of the audience is already suggesting keeping it untouched for investment either by holding or flipping for a profit. Its their opinion and they should not be called haters for expressing it in a comment. Obviously, its your car, your choice. But if you dont like the comments, just turn them off. On the otherhand, you have already stated that comments, positive and negative, generate revenue for the channel. So, what's the problem? As for the reaction to the "Carson Top", Im pretty sure that initially Chad inferred that the entire top would be made of wood. I dont think a Carson Top with wooden framework was thought to be a bad idea. Or maybe it was Cuz freedom of speech..

Joline can tell me about building 34's forever. I've got 5 right now. I've had about 15 in my life- all hot rods. That cabriolet was restored - just needed cosmetics. This cabriolet was one of 4000 built. Most were cut up years ago. This one was stock, and will never be again. Sad,so sad! You could get the same results starting with a 5 window. Starting with this car cost you $25,000
Does having a 1936 engine make it still original? The 34 had a Babbitt bearing motor. The 36 motor had traditional newer style bearings. So how can this be considered original, just needing cosmetics?
I can appreciate and disagree at the same time. When posting on social media you have to accept that you will get the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just remember that even the bad and ugly are watching are making you money to have the things and lifestyle you have. If you didnt get their comments they wouldnt be watching and your cash flow would be very different. Every watch and comment is a cha ching in the bank account. Sometimes negativity comes from a place of unhappiness or jealousy or because they dont have to look you in the face and do it anonymously. Looking at from a point of view that all comments give you ideas, perspective of others opinions and a lifestyle people would like to have will go a long way. The both of you could learn to not presume what is going thru someones head when they comment or why they said what they said. Everyone has their demons and knocking someone on a platform or making them feel less than with your words is showing that fame and wealth can give tunnel vision towards others. Always remember where you came from, especially when giving speeches during your broadcasts.
@@Barrett50-j4h, not sure how you think I took her comments personally. I dont comment positively or negatively to his decisions. It does not matter to me they are his cars not mine. I can also appreciate the business they have grown and prosper with.
Just hanging a label on something doesn't make it so.........Carson tops are not made of wood. They are supposed to blend in with the auto when installed and not look like an add on.
Had you actually watched and paid attention to the video you would know that only the frame for the top was going to be made from wood. The actual top is going to be fabric.
Absolutely! If the metal pegs are 5/8" in diameter..... drill the holes in the wood 3/4" in diameter. Mark the center of those holes on the wood and mount the metal plate in alignment with that centerline. Centerline to centerline. The hole in the metal plate is all that holds the wood where it should be. Very good advice davidbickford.
And in the end the Chad will do pumps to suck the dust out of the ground! Sad for the people and the dog who are in the workshop, and what a bad example given to the inexperienced spectators...
Misaligned locating pins is not a pb for Chad. He uses a grinder and a hammer to make them fit ! I'm sure Jolene can explain it is the right way to do the job !
You have absolutely not a single viewer that does not have an opinion. You should appreciate the fact that some like what you are doing and some question it. In many cases they are critical of a specific thing within the entirety of the project but not entire project. Reprimanding viewers or belittling them may not be the way to go!

Keep in mind when you talked about all the modified vintage cars, yes back in the day when they were more common they were modified but most of what you see customized today are cars that are in terrible shape or scrape worthy not an original complete car like this that you are literally destroying whether it looks cool in the end or not, love all the custom work and what he does but this really shows the perspective of how you both appreciate classic and vintage cars and that you don't. From now on when you see classics customized ask them for a picture of the car before they did what they did, guarantee that 90% or better were not complete and as original as this
Joline I have to agree and disagree, the classic 34 are hard to find complete like this one, yes back in the day you could find them sitting around but not now. so yes people would make hotrods out of them became most aren't complete cars, now I could understand cutting up one that wasn't, I don't care what people think if I'm negative or not I'd rather be truthful then out.
No, they totally get it. Because the 'skirts' brought on overwhelmingly negative comments, their ego's got damaged. So they decided to 'chop' that very fine example of a 90 year old car in a childish and passive aggressive act as revenge for their damaged ego's. They knew that car enthusiasts and/or historians traditionally attempt to preserve such 'survivors'.

The error in your argument, that the 32-34 Fords were, in the 50s, one of the most modified cars, is that in the 50s, only 20ish years after they were being made, and there being a pool of many to choose from of the 275K that were built, there were alot of them available! The 50s were 75 years ago! Most of the 32s that get modded today start out as rust buckets that aren't drivable and aren't complete and are a mess! You guys took a complete original beautiful example of a car that has survived over 90 years and destroyed that! It's hardly the same thing! Chad is a controlling narcissist who is his own worst enemy. You guys do whatever you want to do. But is it still working? Good luck.

He's older and stubborn and and she is young and naive. Insulting your viewers is not a winning strategy, especially when it's regarding personal opinion. There are no facts to your projects, just preferences.
The only issue I had was the Modifying, Cutting and Customizing this 1934 Ford in such good Original Condition because there are not very many left in such Original Condition as this one was. As soon as it was cut into and modified everything it stood for is now gone. The original patina its long history everything is gone. Again, it's only because it's very rare and hard to find a car in such Good Original Condition as this car was in that's why it's really hard for us car lovers to see it being chopped up. When something as rare and Original Condition as this 1934 Ford it should be taken care of nurtured and enjoyed for what it is and shared for the world to see It's the kind of car that sits Proud at car shows and showing off it's beautiful luster it's (Original Condition) It should have never not ever been Chopped or Customized in 2025 in any way. The huge difference being customized in the 1950's is there were so many of them then but a handful today. I think the comments from all the thousands of car lovers from around the world speaks volumes about what a rare gem this car was, but we all have a different opinion about it. I guess we all have different styles and ideas, but would you want to see mona Lisa's hair pink.
What they did in the early days of hot rodding in the 1950's and 1960's doesn't mean it should be done again 2025 , Original unrestored 1934s are ultra rare these days !!

Tu ne paye pas leurs salaires
I totally agree. Personal protective items are an absolute imperative, wearing a mask or goggles might not be comfortable but you might regret it later in life. Not using a workbench is a big mistake, his knees and back will pay the price. I just want to see you guys enjoy what you do but remain healthy. Please take care of yourselves.

@@philippeparret-dr8erWe DO pay his salaries, so He could show a little Respect, and show some safety in the workshop. My sons, and grandchildren watch him !!.. I d really be upset if one of them said,-Chad does it this way !!""-- then get badly hurt...
Oh stop it safety sally, Instead of crying just stop watching.
He gets paid by comment, like, sub etc. you could've wrote your message in one word comments. That'd help pay for safety equipment 😂.
Jolene I don’t think you realize your argument for modifying the car is actually an argument for leaving it alone. So many have been modified and destroyed there cannot be much you can do to one that hasn’t been done before. Also since so many have been modified an unmodified car makes it that much more valuable.
Listen clear thom go save one and do it up full body off resto, no one is stopping you but you.
Why wouldn’t you just enlarge the holes in the wood instead of grinding the pins. The pins are in the right place from the factory. And Jolene if you’re reading this comment , it’s just that “a comment” not a criticism. 👍👍🇨🇦
😂😂😂 amateur hour
Exactly, only one hole to adjust as the other is fitting already.....
@ yeah he’s getting hard to watch. For a professional, he makes a lot of amateur mistakes. Common sense doesn’t work for him.
If anything it should harden you not make you delicate. jmo

Why don't you just watch something else. There's lots of other ones you might like.

Damn what a cluster getting 2 pins to fit in a piece of wood!
When you find one of the few remaining originals, you are a custodian. So, Jolene, I don't agree with you.
You're only a custodian if you want to be. When you buy it, it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it. He's not running a museum.
Cutting up this Ford is a great business operation, it will bring back a lot of comments and bring in more money than the car is worth!

Sometimes, there's the right tool for job. And not everything has to be forced, a metal file would be safer and produce better results on those windshield pins. When that grinder makes contact and kicks it's unforgiving. In my opinion you have an experienced word worker helping you. This cabriolet was one of 4000 built. Most were cut up years ago. This one was stock, and will never be again. Sad,so sad! You could get the same results starting with a 5 window. Starting with this car cost you $25,000
Right on..😊
Does having a 1936 engine make it still original? The 34 had a Babbitt bearing motor. The 36 motor had traditional newer style bearings. So how can this be considered original, just needing cosmetics?
Right now it's not worth much..
One original just sold on Mecham Auction for 30K
Who cares, you can sit there and speil about how many 34s you have chopped, but Chad can't have a go at the one he bought? Who cares!
Derrick “make the hole in the wood bigger” Best advice!

This is golden! I appreciate this, I've been saying this. Very recently. I finally had enough. I'm here for the gold, I appreciate this channel. 100% God Bless Jolene and Chad. From above. Your channel shines through.Incredible people. Incredible story.
Need to take your own advice take what you want and leave the rest
at least you know it was meant for you
What you say about the old Fords is true. But the difference between them and Chad is that Chad gets these dumb ideas and makes ugly unneeded changes to his cars. I'm sure it's a challenge for him to tie his shoes in the morning. We all have an opinion. I'm a very person. He builds junk from junk and never finishes any of it. Don't feel bad for me I'm happy go lucky. I'm not embarrassed to voice my opinion. If you don't like our opinions. Maybe try to make the cars a little nicer. Lol
What does your mother think of this? I'm sure she can give you a hug and help stop those tears
Yet you watch it hahahaha
Of course we are going to feel sorry for you, Mr Happiness, in denial. As for Chad's shoelace challenge, haven't you seen his elegant solution ? I damn sure I wish I was the guy who invented zip-ties !! From the ' useless information ' file, - - When I was quite young, I met the fellow who invented Velcro. Now THAT would have been some achievement !!
I think Chad should've done the opening monologue instead of Jolene. That would've been entertaining.
Hello Chad and Jolene. The 34 is Chad artistic desire to entertain the viewers.... not to please every individual taste. You viewers must understand that its Chad and Jolene projects and they allow us all to enjoy a interesting fun and creative ride! Like Chad said....take what you like or throw away what you do like! So please have some respectful thoughts and questions and enjoy what Chad and Jolene have to offer.
Chad and Jolene I am appalled on what I read on here so rarely do I comment. I've been watching since day one I've learned so much from Chad . It motivated me to get off my butt and build a car. This is what's wrong with this world people judging other people. Keep doing what your doing some of us love it. People giving the rude comments are looking for their two minutes of fame, period....
Good luck.
I watch at night to relax and enjoy, and once I'm perfect I'll start to judge but until then I learn and get other ideas about fabrication , thank you both ! Prayers
We have a right to have our thoughts like both of you
Jolene is just as bat shit crazy as Chad! LMFAO!
You don't like it don't watch
@JoshOwings-ih2ob 😂
Laughed your ass off, huh ? No wonder your shit is pouring out !!
Jolene is brainwashed and is missing the point 4000 1934 Ford Cabriolet produced and this is Canadian survivor car!!! Yeah hopefully one day someone will return this car to it former glory and Un-Chad the destruction.
Hey when fitting your builds just get a bigger hammer!!!
I believe she is either brainwashed or scared of him.
He's older and stubborn and and she is young and naive. Insulting your viewers is not a winning strategy, especially when it's regarding personal opinion. There are no facts to your projects, just preferences.
This content is 100% filtered and trust me it dont make a difference
There were only 4000 of this body produced..
I'm a car lover and I enjoy seeing it modified. There's nothing special about the look for that car anyway. In fact, I think it's ugly
Dang, cars getting chopped on a car-chopping channel. Whoda thought !!
That piece of wood was cut by a beaver !
Chad accomplishes things with the tools we all can afford.
Use Emery tape on those pins,by hand and keep them perfectly round 🎉
HAVE NOT WATCHED IN A WHILE, BUT I GET A FEELING SOMETHING IS UP.
What they did in the early days of hot rodding in the 1950's and 1960's doesn't mean it should be done again 2025 , Original unrestored 1934s are ultra rare these days !!
Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done either
