How wonderful that your principal subbed! In the 37 years that I was in the classroom that NEVER happened-- I think they would have cut off a limb to avoid that 🤣🤣🤣. It's hard to be out-- glad you took a day to be with family.
I mean not his first choice - we don't have a ton of subs right now - but he had a great attitude about it and did what needed to be done! My kids were super excited for it I think!
Honestly, I've been watching your videos since late 2018, and the more I watch, the less I understand how people at your last school were so unaccepting. You are SO relatable, bright, and fun. If I worked at your school, I could see you being fun to talk to and inspirational. I feel like you're the teacher next door - the one who could be anyone's friend. Keep doing you!

I love how detailed this all is as a teacher, but if I were a sub this would be so intimidating 😳 I would be so freaked out about missing something or doing it wrong.
I never care if they get to it all!
As a former sub (now teacher), I would absolutely LOVE how detailed and organized these sub plans are. I always prepare very similar sub plans myself because it’s so much easier to sub when you know all the details. 😊
@@sarahdee4475 that's kind of what I was thinking!!!! Plus when it's more a free-for-all I feel like classroom behavior suffers....at least in the lower grades 😂

That is soooo cool that your principal substituted for you…. And I would so do the spook - a - ly pumpkin poster for incentive when I am gone….. So very helpful! So happy you were able to take a day off to spend with your family…… ❤️

Good call on letting your children know that they were gonna have a guest teacher for a day and preparing them for things to look a little different and getting them on the same page .
It sounds like your students love you and I don't blame them but being straight with your students gets you a long way with them in keeping things running even somewhat smoothly and they are not confused or disappointed .
Keep on handling it like a CHAMP !!

I just received my secret stories decorative squares. Did yours come unlaminated? Did you laminate them?
I laminated them with the school laminator since they were so big. The only reason I did is because if I move classrooms in a few years, I didn't want them to get messed up
