Rubber Tommy Water Gun. It's Rainbow Theatre in London 1974 a year before Bohemian Rhapsody made them global stars

This was the first Thrash Metal song before Thrash Metal existed.
The Rainbow was one of the premier music venues in London in the 70s. Yes, this was well before Queen (or anyone) played in stadiums. When Queen first played to the 3,000 seats o fThe Rainbow, in March of 1974, they felt they had finally made it. This song is from when they played the Rainbow the 2n time, in November 1974.

I just love 70’s Queen 👑 learning to sing along with their lyrics is how I learned a lot of my English, with a English/Dutch dictionary next to the booklet of lyrics (way pre-internet) and I can still sing along to all of it some 30+ years later so guess it stuck 😉

Yesssss 🙌🏻 Thankyou 🔥 I love Freddie’s power and feistiness. Woowie, the four of them together, just amazing. Their versatility trough the years, it’s really amazing. In their huge catalogue is a song for anybody. Hope to see some more Queen along the way. Much bless and keep up the good work

The Rainbow that Queen was playing at in this was a famous venue in London- not the same as the one in California, but in the London scene, it was huge to be booked to play there.

I love these four smart talented musicians, the masters of live performances. Liar, White Queen or Ogre Battle live at The Rainboow would be great...

So good. This was the rainbow in London, but yea small, about 3500 seats. Some of their beet shows imo in the smaller settings.

Think you would like Liar and Modern Times Rock and Roll Live from the Rainbow 1974 as well. Freddie and Brian didn't want to be another boring band that stood there in jeans and t-shirts and sang just like the album. They went to Zandra Rhodes, a London designer and got these outfits made. Brian still has this shirt. It was the glam look of the time along with Bowie and T. Rex.

QUEEN 👑 Okay you’ve heard Metallica’s cover of this song which earned them a Grammy! Queen’s original version live at the Rainbow 🌈. Now watch James Hetfield perform with Queen Stone Cold Crazy at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert 1992. 🤘🤘🤘

    SUGGESTION:
"LIAR" LIVE AT THE RAINBOW, 1974
(The FULL extended version; there's an edited/shortened version floating around too.)
    YOU WILL LIKE IT!

Although the song is a pretty good fit for Metallica, overall their cover was pretty pedestrian in the sense that it didn't really give a new interpretation of the song, which a good cover should do ( eg guns'n'roses covers of Knocking on Heaven's Door and Live and Let Die, or even Metallica's cover of Turn the Page)

"Shooting people that I meet with my rubber Tommy water gun."
Metallica change the lyric "Here come the deputies, gonna come and getta me" to "Here come the deputies, gonna FKN getta me."

You should check out the "Trent Reznor Remix" of this song! That was the inspiration for Metallica to do Metallica! (or something like this ^^+gg).

Queen; "With my rubber Tommy water gun"
    Metallica; "fully-loaded Tommy water gun"
Grammatically 'fully-loaded Tommy water gun' doesn't follow from the previous line "Shooting people that I meet", but that's irrelevant.

Rubber tommy water gun. The only reason Metallica covered it was they couldn't write anything better. Love Metallica. LONG LIVE QUEEN!
