    Wow, some amazing shots; thanks for the tips. My only comment since I own an insta360 One X2: I've read plenty of stories where the 1/4-20 mount on the bottom breaks away from the plastic camera body, especially if there are side loads. Small rig and others make a metal cage for it that gives me comfort. And it's thin enough not to show up in the shot.
    I'm going to chase down that flightflix mount now: looks very cool.

    Absolutely loving the videos Joe, thank you! I recently bought an Insta360 X3 which I want to externally mount on my DA40. Are you ever concerned of the screw going into the camera (from the mount) to come loose with the air rushing by? I wanted to add some sort of safety wire to make sure the camera doesn't unscrew off, but the Insta360 X3 doesn't have anywhere I can attach a wire to. Thoughts? Thanks!

    As another option for the GPS use of phone. Have you seen insta360’s GPS action remote? Gets all the telemetry data as well as acts as a remote to turn on/off switch modes etc. I’m sure you are comfortable with the phone connection (given your use) but wanted to point it out if you were not aware.
    It’s a great improvement over their last remote.

    Hey Joe, thanks for the video! I have a question about which camera to buy. You suggested to buy the Insta 360, but then you recommended that the GoPro 360 has a better editing software in the app.(such as using your phone to pan and tilt to get the shot you want and it only takes 30seconds)
    Even though GoPro has the better in app editing software, would you still recommend the Insta 360? With the insta 360 do you have to do all the key frame stuff you were talking about to get the shot?
    Thanks for the help,
    Colton L

    G’day Joe. I just stumbled across this video and I’m glad I did.
    I have a specific question about the One X3.
    I recorded several of my flight lessons with the One X2, and found when it writes files it drops up to one second worth of frames. Did you find that? It becomes obvious when you are syncing and editing with another angle from a GoPro or Garmin Virb, which both chunk long videos into multiple files without dropping a single frame.
    Any idea if they fixed this on the One X3?

    • @Bananasssssssss
      @Bananasssssssss  10 месяцев назад

    Joe, I am looking to get fitted out with a 360 and would like to know how you like the carbon fiber telescoping selfie stick? Does it flex and move when extended out to the propeller area? Do you think it is the best choice?

      Flexes quite a bit on the ground but no flex at all while flying. I love it

  • @rosscomer
    @rosscomer 2 дня назад

    Great video, thanks for sharing! Couple questions:
    Do you leave the camera recording the entire time or do you turn it on when you are ready to begin shooting? I've got about an hour flight until I do the Statue of Liberty and Hudson River Corridor so that obviously won't work to just let it run. Do you only connect w/your phone and is it able to start up the outside camera?
    Any thoughts on wind and water at higher speeds? I toasted my first Insta360 X2 that was mounted on a tie-down and I went through some rain. I've thought about using a sport case, but the GoPro connection is plastic and I'm a touch worried it will break off (Cirrus SR22T so 180kts True is not uncommon).

    • @Bananasssssssss
      @Bananasssssssss  2 дня назад

      Hey! I Usually just press record and video the entire thing but when I did the Hudson River, I actually stopped at Old bridge and then press record, lol. 99% of the time, pressing record from the Mobile App works though.

    Great informative video; thanks. Question: Tail selfie chase view…have you experimented with positioning the 360 straight upright vs horizontal vs 45degree angle?
    The reason I ask is because I’ve been positioning vertical and found that at times the camera splits the rudder or part of it (GoPro Max).

    • @Bananasssssssss
      @Bananasssssssss  Год назад

      You mean the lens stitching?

    • @rickhiebert7352
      @rickhiebert7352 Год назад

      @@Bananasssssssss thanks for responding. Yes, with the camera in perfect vertical position, sometimes when the rudder is perfectly in that stitched center, it shows two rudders about 5” apart. So I was wondering if you’d ever experienced that or had played with placing the camera horizontal or even at an angle.

    • @Bananasssssssss
      @Bananasssssssss  Год назад
