I’m American and watching this, the one thing I noticed is the Mental Toughness the Aussies had, which was missing v Uruguay 4 years earlier in Montevideo after winning that 1st leg at home. To understand what that moment meant that night in 2005, you have to go back to the previous three trips to the playoffs and not closing the deal each time: 1993 in Buenos Aires v Argentina and the late, great Maradona in the 2nd leg losing 1-0 1997 v Iran, up 2-0 at home and couldn’t close the deal, ending 2-2 and the Iranians going to France. I could see that was a killer loss for that country. 2001 v Uruguay, winning that 1st leg 1-0, then going to Montevideo in that 2nd leg needing just 1 goal to advance and they get waxed 3-0. What a night it must have been back in 2005 in that nation to finally break down the door after coming so close the previous three cracks. Also, they had an extra player from above. I'm referring to Johnny Warren, the Australian Soccer legend, who passed away the year before and sadly never got to see this moment. They did for Johnny that night as well.

Redmayne's save had me screaming like a madman. But nothing will ever compare to Johnny's penalty to send us through in 05. I remember hurting myself so bad during the celebrations, but I didn't care.

The Greatest Game of Football Ever Played in Australia bar none.
Look at how young they all are.....
Atleast I am getting the impression that in Australia they celebrate football more than in United States.

Thank you. Have you got the Germany friendly from March last year?
+cocolocooz I'm looking for our World Cup matches, and I will be uploading all of the Socceroos 2015 Asian Cup matches soon. I'll try and find that match though, and thanks for watching!

No problems... thanks for watching SocceroosHD!
tears in my fucking eyes this entire world cup campaign was incredible right up until that Italian penalty... Aloisi and Schwarzer absolutely incredible ❤️🔥
i dont know who you are but if i was able to vote for you as PM for Australia i would!!!!!!!!
i was also hoping if you were able to have and put up the 4 games with every minute broadcasted on sbs of the 2006 fifa world cup socceroos games????? :)
Thanks for watching it means a lot!!! The 4 games of the 2006 World Cup is what I'm striving to find so stay tuned!

Australia's greatest sporting moment...yup up there in the top 3....what momentum the boys carried over to Germany...irrespective of what people think about the game vs Italy...we should of won that...then quater final vs Ukraine..who knows...who knows how far the socceroos would have gone in the tournament...just imagine Aloisi taking a penalty shoot out kick against France in the final

man what an emotional moment. Schwarzer take a bow, absolute monster effort
Being French i did not want Australia in the same group, i think people are ruling them out far to early, look at what happened to Luxembourg and OZ is far superior to Luxembourg, opening game are dodgy so France you been warned ! I can see Australia finishing second and making the last 16, after that it is anybody's game, come on socceroo you can make it!
@SocceroosHD Thanks for uploading. I was at this game. Treasure memory. Do you have any of our games from the 2006 World Cup at all?

I swear this 2006 squad would win the 2022 world cup. Football has declined so much. Our current generation was given no hope and matched this golden generation. These boys would have gone far in 2022.
