Hell yeah. I’ve got a 1648 that I’m tackling this winter. Your videos have been a huge help figuring out what I want to do. And congrats on such a kick ass boat.
Man I have been redoing boats with dad since I was 9years old and bow I've started doing them my self your videos have been a big help and it would be so awesome to see you do a duck boat build
It was worth all the effort and then some. That is the only thing else I would have done different is get a full size axle so I could run bigger tires.
I'm confused. My mom said you always liked a floppy tongue 🤷♂️. Considering the shirt your "employee" or brother (whichever it is) was wearing, his actions and sign made all the sense in the world. Good video bearded unicorn and keep trucking in the ram.
LMAO... he aint my brother and if he is, he was certainly adopted. I call him the Christmas help for a reason LOL. But yes your mom is right, her floppy tongue is my favorite!
Thank you. I have been wanting to build one for years just never could picture the perfect way to do it. Once I decided to keep it simple it turned out way better than I ever imagined. Appreciate you watching. Stay tuned for more!
Love the "Levity" in your video, and your boat trailer ideas are great, too. (By the way, if you don't like the "dingle berries" sticking on the metal from welding, try some spray around the area! PAM comes to mind...!).
I have never tried any of those sprays, I remember a long time ago I read on a welding forum the Pam worked good. I need to try that, thanks for reminding me.
I just watched your build on your boat and when you said Acworth, GA was in your back yard i was just wondering where you live. I'm from Ellijay. I have a 1986 Monark jon boat I'm starting to build. 16.75. X 48
Ellijay is awesome in the summer, too cold in the winter for me. I'm down in Covington, near Jackson Lake. Nice to see some locals watching the channel. Appreciate you watching!
I love the backup lights. I could really use them when backing my boat into the blackhole abyss of my garage at night. Even with the lights on the garage, they are not bright enough to see were the end of the boat is at in relation to walls, cars, ect. Do you have them wire to the reverse lamps on the truck or are they on a separate circuit?
The backup lights are very handy, I use them all the time. I have them wired to the reverse light pin on the 7 pin trialer plug so the work with my truck reverse lights.
Great tip for treating untreated wood, even though at this point you have no need to, but you can paint on a few coats of used motor oil from oil changes. Works, its free and you dont have to dispose of the oil.
Thanks for recognizing my welding certification... most professional welders tell me it is not real. RUclips certification is as good as any other certification in my book.
2 reasons: I wanted to be able to turn the trailer 90 degrees to my truck and not hit the tailgate with my boat. And two because most of the ramps I use around here are really shallow and I have to back way into the water. Most of them I don't have to get wet with the long trailer, some I do.
I want to make a boat trailer into a tilt trailer so I can launch my little 1436 into sketchy places. Can you do a video on how to convert a regular boat trailer into a tilt trailer?
I probably wont do another tilt trailer, The one i have had were nothing but problems. This one was originally a tilt trailer, you can see most of the build in the first video I did.
The tilt likes to rust and freeze up after time, making it basically useless. And on my trailer it sagged so bad where the tilt was, I was scared my trailer was going to break. The bolt that held the tilt onto the tongue rounded out the hole so bad, the bolt dang near fell out when I took it apart.
So far it has been good. Only had it about a year. We have been through 2 blades on it cutting mostly aluminum and a little steel here and there. It really needs the bigger 8ah or 12ah battery to run decent. The 5ah battery only lasts a little while.
I got my AARP invitation in the mail a few weeks ago. I guess I am finally getting enough grey hair in my beard to be considered for the cool kids club.
yeah, im a fan. Just wish I had that work shop. Those tools. The skills. The time. I can live without that ass scratchin employee though, I already have kids. Thanks for some ideas. I have a Lowe 1852, and I bet my trailer and boat are shorter than yours. Would love a walk way, but meh, mudboots do it too.. for me. BTW, I don't freshwater fish. That's disgusting, I use your channel for duck murder boat reference. referred to many of your vids to build it out... the 12v system. I can't do any of the fancy stuff you do. Thanks again!
I appreciate the watch, and glad my work helps you on your own builds! I work on boats for a living or else I would not have all these tools at my disposal.

Tha is for watching. I love my 1648 and it's finally coming together. More videos coming soon.
Nice. I made my trailer walkway out of one side of an extruded aluminum ATV ramp. The backup lights are priceless for us night boaters.
I saw a picture of a trailer with an old atv ramp... that's one of the ideas I had before I came up with this one.
Good job on the walk way
Thanks, ,appreciate you watching the video.
I am digging that walkway. Going to see if that will work on my Tracker trailer. Great info thanks
Yea, a walkway on the trailer is worth its weight in gold. I have one on my 21' wellcraft for when i launch in the oceans/bays.
It defiantly helps a lot. I will put one on every trailer I own from now on.
Man I have been redoing boats with dad since I was 9years old and bow I've started doing them my self your videos have been a big help and it would be so awesome to see you do a duck boat build
Kind of making me want to build a new boat trailer for my boat. Torsion axle and full size tire/wheel.
It was worth all the effort and then some. That is the only thing else I would have done different is get a full size axle so I could run bigger tires.
The trailer looks sweet!
Mine has lights on the truck also.....more lights are a good thing.
Send it!
I put lights on my truck bumper a few years ago, and they work great! Thanks for watching the video.
I'm confused. My mom said you always liked a floppy tongue 🤷♂️. Considering the shirt your "employee" or brother (whichever it is) was wearing, his actions and sign made all the sense in the world. Good video bearded unicorn and keep trucking in the ram.

the last bit of the video in the hater corner killed me 😂, that’s awesome
LOL, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
That walkway blew my mind!
Thank you. I have been wanting to build one for years just never could picture the perfect way to do it. Once I decided to keep it simple it turned out way better than I ever imagined. Appreciate you watching. Stay tuned for more!
i like.your work look great for a boat like yours good job.
Appreciate you checking it out! Thanks for watching.

I just wanted you to know there is a place that manufacturers reflex boat decking in Chatsworth Ga.
Lmfao great build man!!! The scooters are idiots!! Thanks for a few good ideas for my trailer!!! Got a new subsciber👍🏼
Thanks for the sub, glad you enjoyed the video. Appreciate you watching.
The "this is what pipeline welders dream about at night" is diabolical!! 😂😂
LOL, I love poking fun at the professional welders when I can.
love the walkway how is it attached to the trailer
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Really enjoy watching your vids, you have some good ideas, do you happen to have a vid on how to install a cutoff switch for a trolling motor
I sure do. It's in the electrical video I did a while back. I use the resettle circuit breakers as a switch and it has worked for years with no issue.
Just remember, those scooters vote! Doesn’t that make you happy and proud and joyful?
That hurts my brain to think about.
@ BTW - I love the videos and format!
Here I am again, at work, watching youtube videos. Can you just come and do everything I want on my boat? I’ll stick the fridge with cold beers.
Bwwaahhhaaa. Well I work on boats for a living at Tiny Boat Nation in Georgia, so actually I can do that lol.
I love the backup lights. I could really use them when backing my boat into the blackhole abyss of my garage at night. Even with the lights on the garage, they are not bright enough to see were the end of the boat is at in relation to walls, cars, ect. The bottom step move to the other side
I should have done that while I had the trailer torn down. On my next trailer I will probably do that.
Definitely gonna do a walkway like that but also interested in the lights you used on the trailer is there a link ?
I got them at harbor freight. These are the ones I used: www.harborfreight.com/6-in-led-flood-light-57190.html
Great tip for treating untreated wood, even though at this point you have no need to, but you can paint on a few coats of used motor oil from oil changes. Works, its free and you dont have to dispose of the oil.
I did that on my old utility trailer a while back. never thought to do it on my bunks! Good Idea.
To be honest those looked like 7G.8 welds, but I’m sure their fine since you still got them properly certified. 👍🏻 Lee Jet.
Thanks for recognizing my welding certification... most professional welders tell me it is not real. RUclips certification is as good as any other certification in my book.
@ must be union guys. Yea they definitely don’t know it all. Anything above 7G.5 is aircraft quality. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
HA HA Union welders! LOL
Have a friend that modified his with an extendable tongue. An additional piece inside would stiffen that up
That's a good idea. I never thought of that, thanks for sharing.
Nice upgrades. Still trying to wrap my mind around way such a long tongue, both on the old and new design?
2 reasons: I wanted to be able to turn the trailer 90 degrees to my truck and not hit the tailgate with my boat. And two because most of the ramps I use around here are really shallow and I have to back way into the water. Most of them I don't have to get wet with the long trailer, some I do.

@SendItJonBoats What kind of issues have you had with em?
The tilt likes to rust and freeze up after time, making it basically useless. And on my trailer it sagged so bad where the tilt was, I was scared my trailer was going to break. The bolt that held the tilt onto the tongue rounded out the hole so bad, the bolt dang near fell out when I took it apart.
Do you recommend the Bauer metal cutting saw? I’m thinking about getting one.
Cousin has one it’s pretty good it’s not professional use but every no and then or so it’s good
So far it has been good. Only had it about a year. We have been through 2 blades on it cutting mostly aluminum and a little steel here and there. It really needs the bigger 8ah or 12ah battery to run decent. The 5ah battery only lasts a little while.
I am offended by that AARP wise crack. I resemble that remark!
But it did make me LOL.
I got my AARP invitation in the mail a few weeks ago. I guess I am finally getting enough grey hair in my beard to be considered for the cool kids club.
LOL, Im getting older and much greyer... so it makes me laugh too.
How is the gatorglide holding up?
So far so good. I have hit a few rocks in the river with it. Got some scuffs but besides that, it has held up really well.
Put the right side step on first. Then the left side step will be out of the way of hand winch
Yup that would have been smart to do the first time. Where were you when I needed this advice? LOL
@@SendItJonBoats asleep at the wheel - sorry dude 🤪(retired). And starting to fish full time
Idea time: What about lights along the bunks that turn on with separate switch, just to light up the water/area.
Dont call me scooter i aint hating.
It's not a bad idea at all. GatorBak makes some cool light up Bunks and I will probably do those on the next trailer build.

Good Sunday evening everyone. 👍good job on there on the trailer redo remember everyone Jesus Christ is the answer ✝️🙏👍
Thank you. Appreciate you watching the video.
Second
Ricky Bobby says if you ain't first your last. But second will work.
Where the hell you get them scooters?
I have no idea. Must be government workers.
😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
