    That these archea are found in these situations is being seen as potentially causetory is kinda silly - they could just as easily come about as a consequence of the environment being hospitable to them

    That tree of life shows Archaea branching off the Eurkaryotes segment, implying that they are more related to Eukaryotes than bacteria. That can't be correct. Archaea and bacteria on that tree should be swapped. Archaea are as different from bacteria as bacteria are from Eukaryotes.

    • @MicrobiologySocietyOrg1945
      @MicrobiologySocietyOrg1945  7 лет назад +19

      Hi Tomaz, thanks for taking the time to watch our video! Currently there are two competing hypotheses about where archaea sit on the Tree of Life. One is that Eukaryotes and Archaea are 'sister' branches, which sit distinct from the Bacteria (as we've shown above). A more recent theory is that Eukaryotes are actually in fact descendants of the Archaea. For more information have a look at our video on the subject: ruclips.net/video/hw-ij3822DY/видео.html
