A friend of mine applied in Orange County. The same day 2 investigators showed up the same day to his home. He got his CCW in 2 weeks!
Congratulations. I'm proud of you. I'm born and raised in Los Angeles and left to the Midwest just to be in a free country. I have had A CCW for around 20 years now. My favorite hobby is firearms and I was like a kid in a candy store when I hit the Midwest. But I'm happy people like you are navigating your way through the BS to get your permit. That way the people behind you have a blueprint to follow. I used to have the LAPD tear my car's aparts looking for firearms. But then I was in Nebraska and the cops wanted to know why I wasn't carrying my firearm since I had A CCW. The sheriff told me he relies on citizens like me to help them out late at night if they get into a bad situation.🤯 I felt like I was on Mars. What a difference in policing. One wants to make a criminal out of you and the other wants to know why you're not carrying your firearm with you. Just 2 different worlds.🤷♂️
I will say a prayer that you stay safe and never have to use it in a self-defense situation.🙏❤️🔥📿🕯🕊✝️
It’s frustrating that the governor wants all these crazy ccw sensitive locations and punish card holders. But for a criminal or gangbanger with illegal carry will just be in and out of jail with a slap on the wrist it seems
Congratulations I applied in February 2020 for LA ccw and got it December 2020 now I have to renew by December and I will start most of the process again this year but I heard it’s faster to renew. We’ll see. But now I’m used to carrying so I feel naked without my gun. I hope more people apply and get their license. Stupid how we need to get permission to exercise our Right to defend ourselves
Hi bro. Yes, it is a long haul. I got mine today after 6 months. Santa Barbara. If your record is clean just putt along one day at a time. They do extensive background checks. My letters of recommendation were pretty influential. had to pass a psych test as well. dont quit, just move along, be honest and patient.
"Sorry, bird on my head, got distracted"
What a statement lol 😂
Happens a lot she like pecking the mouse cursor and lifting off my keyboard keys
Congratulations 👏
Thank you for this! I just submitted first time application yesterday! I am going to treat it like a passport: I won’t always use it, but it’s nice to have in case I need (to travel or carry)…
Congrats! 🎉
Just renewed mine for OC and it took about 2.5 months. Getting my original permit took about 6 months. It’s ridiculous that yours took so long, my friend got his LA County CCW permit in about 6 months too. But he applied before the big wave of applicant, he got his application approved around the time you applied.
congrats brotha! looking forward to getting mine taken care of this year in Sacramento county.
@Big RUclipsr01 yeah probs. But I'm in sac County and it's pretty lame too
congrats to you !!!
Thanks for sharing your story. I just had my interview today. They told me it takes 6 months to hear from the live scan. And another few months after you finish your course! Can’t believe it haha too long but at least I started the journey
Whats the first step of the process? Sending in the application with the non-refundable check?
Livescan is done wayyy before interview tho
@@ovasov not where I’m from northern Cali. Still waiting to hear back. My interview took 3 seconds
I’m still waiting. Did the same thing finished the safety course got it out the way. Now waiting for them to approve my livescan. Almost 6 months now waiting for approval. Absolutely ridiculous
The good thing is that the safety course is acceptable for one year from the day you take it
@@SassySardinebro I called them up not too long ago for status, bro I kid you not I just said I’m calling for my CCW ,she asked for my name and livescan number and before I even ask any questions she straight up says we put the CCW unit on a temporary hold for a month and a half because they wanted to bring the new sheriff up to speed. Which makes no sense. Just excuses to prolong the process. It’s been 6 months now I wouldn’t be surprised if I call and they say the sergeant working on my case is sick so I have to wait longer. Before I know it, a year will pass lol.
@@G_Dlzzle bro I got my live scan completed on November and I’m still waiting for my dam email.
@@GOC323 ya don’t expect an email anytime soon it’s been 7 months and I have yet to receive an email from them
Hope people continue to get approved. Luna might not be as 2A friendly as Villanueva.
I'm in La County, too and acquired mine yesterday .
Congrats
Wow thats crazy!!! It took like a month and a half to get mine in fresno county. From the day i took my ccw 8 hour class tothe day i gotmy card in he mail.
I just purchased my first pistol a p365 and will soon apply for my ccw in LA county these videos have been incredibly helpful
I’m going to be renewing my license by the end of this year too and do an overview of how to apply and my experience renewing my permit
@@SassySardine thank you so much you’ve been so much help also love your bird
Got mine last month san diego county 5 months
congrats!!!the reason why they asked for a recent utility bill is to make sure your really are a California resident. it happened to me, i lived in the same home for 25 years!! it took me to get my permit about 14 months!!!
Sad thing is, your permit is for only 2 years and you spent 14 months applying for it. After 2 years, you have to go through the whole process, again, for renewal. OC is not as bad, the renewal process was much easier, but LA seems to required everything like a new application.
Good job.
Thank you. your video was very informative. I think I'm going to apply for a CCW. Honestly I probably would not even carry a weapon with me at most times. I live near Hollywood and la Brea. It would be unreasonable for me to think I could walk to a friend's house a quarter of a mile away at night and not be taking a severe risk. When you talk about a chiropractor on the 25th floor it's just makes me laugh. it's almost like the CCW is useless anywhere. But thanks again for giving me hope. And I will be making that quarter of a mile walk CCW or not. I would really pray and I mean really pray that I would never have to use it. But hey I have to protect myself and feel safe and I have the right to do that. This will be an interesting journey and I'm going to be looking at all your other videos. Thanks again!
I came within one half of a second of pulling a trigger inside my home at some crackhead who had broken inside. He just would not stop walking towards me. Luckily he did stop and I had to have him walk backwards down the stairs and out my front door. I cried for 2 hours afterwards.
Thanks for your insight. At this point especially in major cities, I believe it’s necessary to get your legally obtained conceal carry license whether you believe in firearms or not. Everything and everyone is unpredictable.
I've been think about it myself but watching your video has made me say bump it I'll start now maybe I'll get it 2025 🤔🤷🏽♂️🤣
I bought the gun I plan to have on my permit today. Starting my application tomorrow. I'll be doing it through LAPD... Hopefully it'll be faster than what you've experienced.
Nope. I'm going through LAPD also. Got on the list in October 2022. Finally, in February, I learned that I have an appointment to review my application on May 23 by Dodger Stadium. They will contact you from a Private Number line...
Hey!!! Yours looks nice. Mine looks like I made it myself at home :(
Hi, you are so lucky 1 year and 3 months. my application process 2 years and 2 months, application date December 2020, and finally my pickup date is February 2023. let's go to see what's going to happen with the renewal. I'm guessing it's going to take at least 6 months.🤯🤯😡
I got mine in Hawaii and that's unheard of.
I’ve been waiting a year for an interview call. I did my training a year ago as well. By the time I get the CCW I’ll be too old to grip a pistol.
If you did your training a year ago it may be invalid and you have to retake the training
I did mine with LAPD Jan 15th made the phone call to be put on the list March they called fory appointment for interview was September 19th 60days later got approval letter in mail did my CCW class Dec 1st now just waiting for pickup date for license
I submitted my ccw application on October 2022 and reach out to them this October 2023 via email on the update. They replied back that they received it and to wait until it gets assigned to a case worker. Unbelievable! I am a real estate broker and property manager who collects money from tenants in not so good areas. So, I guess I have to continue to wait and wait.
I’m coming back to this after about a year to see what’s going on with the laws. I’m probably going to do it either way but yeah I’m pretty sure this wait period is going to drive me crazy.
Thankfully the sb2? Laws have been at least temporarily halted due to their overreach of the law.
It’s been ruled as unconstitutional so we no longer need to worry about SB2. Good luck on the waiting period my brother is about to enter his 6th months since he sent his application.
Better to start sooner than later.
@@SassySardine Yeas I was so excited to read about that but I think as of today there has been some ruling to put it in place for now. According to Reno May. I really crashed hard when I saw the video. He's involved legally with this case.
How long did it take for the final phone call after you emailed the CCW class certificate? Thanks
3-4 months
@@SassySardine How long ago was that for you?
@@SassySardine They told me 6 to 8 weeks!
Got mine as well! Ending up getting it from LAPD though. So mine is blue, not green. Not sure what the difference is 🤷♂️
I applied as well 2 months ago from LAPD. Still waiting. How long it took for yours? And when did you apply?
@@JACKN226 I called & emailed lapd back in September 2022 to schedule an interview, they told me to wait 2-3 months for someone to call me to a schedule an interview.
Got the call mid February 2023
My interview is mid march 2023
I live in harbor city (south bay) i have a sheriff down the street but not sure if this is the place to go what would you recommend
@@chrisrodriguez6429 Wow! You're lucky! I sent an email October 2022 and got a call in February 2023 for a May appointment!
@@DuayneHoward really ? That’s crazy.
we both got the call during the same time, try emailing asking to schedule a sooner date. Doesn’t hurt to try.
But the interview is quick , 15 minutes tops. The livescan is what’s gonna take the longest.
how cool is that bird 😂
I had to apply with LAPD February 2023
Got a call April that I have interview set for September 19 2023
Went with live scan completed waiting on approval
But like you Im not going to wait and I'm just going to go to training get it over with I hope to be completed by end of the year
It’s the move. waste no time.
i just turned 21 2 weeks ago. im planing on applying now and hopefully i get approved. i own a small rental company so that’s my reason for it. do u have any advice ?
Apply sooner than later. they “shouldn’t care about good cause” and be prepare to wait a year (or longer). If you pass through all the hurdles.
@@SassySardine might be a dumb question but i live in the hawthorne are i can apply through lapd right ?
@@rich70912 you can call the lapd or lasd and ask where you need to send your documents
I'm in the SFV, is this the same process for me as well?
You’re going to send your application online now
If I apply only with 1 firearm can I go back and add 2 more later on ? Or do you have to have all 3 firearms with you when you qualify ?
I only have 1 firearm right now and planning to get more but also want to apply for my ccw. Should I wait till I have 2 others that I want to qualify.
You can apply and still add more firearms if you own them
You can make this update on the day of your interview with an updated form of what firearms are on your carry list and give it to your interviewer
If you add a firearm after you receive the CCW permit, you'll have to qualify for it like you did with the first one.
This is all a bunch of BS tbh. 3 gun limit is BS, waiting for the permit for over 6 months is BS, having to come back to qualify is also BS.
Congratulations sir. What an ordeal and ridiculous process. Hardly worth the effort. BY DESIGN I’m sure. I have 3 out of state permits that took no more than 2 months each. Yet can’t carry in stinking California. Plus your LA county permit is only good for 2 years ? Is that right ?
Yes two years only sadly. But I heard the renewal is much faster.
Did they ever asked you about proof of income?
Not during my interview or requested it no.
Our state, has free CCW, and you can get it when you buy a gun that day. And called Constitutional carry. The street are public places, lol.
I'm going through my process for CCW in Riverside County. They told me I'm required to take a psychological evaluation. They say it's random but why do random people have to pay an $150 for an evaluation from the Dr. They send you to? 🤷
It's not random-- it's discrimination and deliberate delay.
@@invisibleink2644 that's a damn shame. Sheriff Bianco claims to be me pro 2nd Amendment. If they need proof of Good Moral Character I was homeless a few years ago due to a divorce and losing everything. Never compromised my honor and all the times I was contacted by police they never found any drugs or illegal contraband. I found a job in the industry I spent 20 years in and worked harder than anyone else. A little while later I'm a foreman in the same company running million dollar jobs with people under me. Now drive a Lexus and live in the best community in my city. I'm a success story of maintaining honor and never giving up and having the ability to bust your ass to move up from the bottom of the pit. I take great pride in my success and plan on writing a book soon.
@@invisibleink2644 I have my appointment with Riverside next week & hopefully they don’t discriminate me for being a “minority” as they say
Lawyer up
@@juniorg6858did you also have to take a psychological evaluation?
So you can only carry 3 guns and each one you gotta have already bought and qualified with on same day?
You can only register 3 pistols if you own and want to carry 3 pistols
You have to own one to register when you apply but you can buy more and register them during your interviewing or ccw process
Shit at least you got one.
What kind of questions was in your interview?
They just review your application with you and make you check off and sign that you don’t do drugs, are a convicted felon, etc.
Okay the Gangs not registered make it make sense I wouldn't worry about no damn license if Gangs aren't worried about it..
Indiana - 4 days for the entire process ...
I submitted my application on 12-30-2022 its now June 2023 I have heard anything as if yet. This is ridiculous I wish I could sue L.A. county for deliberate delaying the process.
It’s a long process because of the large influx of applications and their own stubbornness
What questions do they ask during the interview?
They just review the form you filled out with you to make sure it’s correct
What was a good reason you told them to carry?
Just that I am a teacher
@@SassySardine thanks
After Bruen, they can no longer ask you questions to determine good moral character.
What’s livescan Guys
omg.. Rarest pokemon shiny cards LOL
Some info on the steps would be more help. This video was just you venting.
After submitting your application there isn’t much steps you have to do, it becomes a waiting game. The whole purpose was to reflect on my experience and how I approached it. What I went through may be different for others. There is not step by step guide.
- Submit application
- Wait for calls/emails
- Pray you get accepted in a timely manner
But he makes funny faces... 🤪
A year and 3 mos is beyond ridiculous.
Factual
LA County is a POS.
Congrats on getting your CCW!
Yeah it’s sad that the system basically makes it to the point where you have to illegally carry and then shit comes back to bite you in the ass
mexicos take a a while to get them green cards - you legal now my boy
Dude congratulations man . I’ve lived in LA for 32 years. I would like to get my CCW. Anyway you can guide me or point me the right direction? I’d appreciate you . Can you dm me ?
The information your looking for is right here:

Is Their a psychic test for the ccw permit?
Not when I took mine
(walking in restaurant to eat with a buddy.. Both carrying he has ccw I do not live in LAC)
My buddy: There's a bar in there I can't go in there with my gun..
Me: 😂😂😂 who's going to know you have it on you? 😂😂 smh (I walk in)
This was a good video, watched it at least 3 or 4 times. I waited 23 months for my La county ccw 🫠
That’s a long time to be waiting glad it finally came through sucks that it took almost two years
