Filed application June 30, 2021. Picked up my CCW in late August 2022. A few "hiccups" along the way, improper or incomplete form, Live Scan not sent to LASD, missed calls for the interview etc. 14 months overall, but follow their instructions and it will happen.

@@TRBTraining Thanks. BTW, a long time off, but what does the renewal process involved. I assume, new application (fee's of course) training, what else....nuther Live Scan... etc. Is this too a time consumer process or an "in and out".

Good thing i got my ccw in Dec 2020 by lasd and I just renewed with them. I live in lapd's area.
When I go to the White House, I will advocate that the US Bureau of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms issue federal CCW permits. This federal permit will valid in all 50 states.
This is the dumbest statement I've read this week.
You aren't going to the White House. The ATF doesn't live in the White House. You have zero power to have them listen to you in any way. We already have a 50 state permit. The 50 state Federal CCW permit is the Second Amendment of the constitution.
How long does it take to get your final call, after you email LASD your CCW firearm training certificate to them? Just curious. Im waiting for that final call.
I just submitted my CCW application to LASD because I live in a city with no police department just LASD. Hopefully they do not drag their feet.
Sounds like you're doing the right thing! Try calling periodically (squeaky wheel gets the grease). Make sure you complete your training within 6 months of them giving you the 'ok'. :)

Once LASD authorizes an individual to take the training and the individual passes the training is that a very good sign the license will be issued?
It can't hurt! We recommend prepping for the interview since it's a make-or-break. Honesty is the best policy. Feel free to contact us with these questions. :)
At that point you WILL be issued, that's in the Penal Code. The issuing authority CANNOT authorize you to receive your training (i.e. spend additional money) unless you are already approved. After the training is done, look at about 2 to 3 weeks to pick up your permit in Monterey Park HQ.

I'm in LA County in the city of South Gate I'm going to apply for a CCW from this video your saying I need to submit my application to South Gate PD not the Sheriff department any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated thank you
Whomever patrols your area. We've heard there are debates in LA as far as who will be responsible for applications going forward.
I hope someone can answer this question. Regarding L.A Sheriffs department applications, what should someone due regarding the good cause page in the application? Do you just leave that page blank?
CA is a shall issue state now so means you can leave it blank by all means BUT I’d say to write something down that way they don’t give you a hard time and process your application faster
I was told to keep it blank, I applied here is Sacramento and my interview is in Feb 2023
Great question! We've had clients call about this and I believe you have to put SOMETHING in order to proceed and submit the application. You could add something or perhaps put 'NA'. Let us know what you do!

That seems like good cause to me.
They still have the good cause section on the application, so do I just leave it blank?

I live in LA county but my area is patrol by LAPD do i have to apply with LAPD or can i just a apply with LASD?

Thank you so much for this information!!!! I am very excited about the possibility of obtaining a CCW. I have a request. Could you do a presentation on what to do if you actually shoot someone? What do I tell the cops? Do I shut up and lawyer up? How do I get immediate legal protection? Who do you recommend?? Will I go to jail if I "Lawyer up??". I was told NEVER talk to the cops. Yikes. The whole scenario frightens me. Do you know anyone who has actually had their CCW and had to pull a weapon? What happened to them? What should we do if we are forced to use LETHAL FORCE in the aftermath should we survive? Can the attacker sue me??

@@TRBTraining Really appreciate that. I was told that Santa Barbara NEVER gives out CCWs even with the new laws. . . I hope this is not true. I am spending alot of time and money to be rejected. oh well. More than anything I am doing this for the Princlple of the thing: the Right to bear arms.
@@TRBTraining yes. Did preliminary paperwork and documents. Did live scan. Purchased a Glock 19. Got FSC card. Just waiting for green light to train.
Are you just waiting to be contacted by the SD or PD?
@@TRBTraining Yes. I am waiting for the Sheriff to give me the green light to enroll in a CW class. Evidently the classes are expensive and SB has restricted instructors pool to only a select group. If I pass the class I have to do a Psych test. If I pass that I then have to go in for an Interview. If i pass that then I will get the permit...........its a long road and I have a sinking feeling they will reject me.
