This really does make it truly yours, even though it holds someone else’s writing. I like this idea, but I don’t want to ruin my books with my skill not being even close to your level yet. Maybe someday, but I’ll keep this in mind!
I’ve been asked to recover a rather large holy book of about 1,100 pages. These books are so heavy, even though they are made with relatively thin but sturdy paper, that many of them are getting loose or falling apart after only twenty years of weekly use. I’ve been working my way up to this task, and I watch your videos for background.
I always need to have speaking in my asmr... but omg i caught myself dozing off multiple times to the sounds of that book. This might be my new favourite type. So relaxing.
Te quedó Hermoso! Te admiro, haces las cosas con tanta delicadeza y amor que ojalá muchos le pusieran el corazón a éste bello arte como lo es. La encuadernación.
A great "quiet" video - overseen by the ever diligent guarding by Lucy! Your work with the hot foil stamping machine is really looking smooth and confident. The careful placement/gluing of the bottom cover piece was well done and thorough. Good luck with your sundry classes! I will have to investigate this novel and maybe try to rebind several well-worn hard covers of mine.
I was just thinking about rebind a used book i bought last friday and now i see you posting this video... I gues it's the universe telling me to do it!
I have been wanting to print out a PDF book and bind it into signatures. Unfortunately when you use the printer setting for books it prints in 1 big signature. Can you please make a text chapter hardback from beginning to end with printer settings or page layout etc? I know you briefly did this with your own book but some of the details I'm looking for like the printing was not in it.
That is absolutely gorgeous!! I just got a laser cutter and I can't wait to play around with it like this! Can I ask what hot foil stamping machine you have and where you got it? Absolutely lovely work, as always!
I share my thoughts on the hot foil machine in my previous video about hand binding my published book! Link to the machine is in the description of that video.
In the US - Blick, Paper Source, Mulberry Paper and More. If elsewhere, search for “handmade paper near me”. Nepalese lokta is an affordable and available option you can look for.
Amazing work as always! Could you please share what temperature you are setting your foil stamping machine to? I’m struggling to get a nice print and I’m doing some trials myself. 🙏🏼
@@bountyarchive would you please share what is the foil you use? I also have a hard time stamping on cloth. 110, 115, 105 celsius, tried all, but many foils are not good for cloth. The ones made for cloth usually you have to order commercial amounts so I gave up on it.
Hola! Te veo desde México, te sigo en Instagram y ahora te seguiré por aquí también Una duda, ¿me podrías decir qué máquina utilizas para hacer el gravado de los textos?

What a lovely way to honor this author and his writing. Excellent work as always.

I'm in love with the sound of books and their smell. It's just another type of happiness 😼

WOW. This is stunning. I am in awe.
I always find these videos so relaxing 😍
Is it strange that I watch this while blasting heavy metal and still find it relaxing?
Such beautiful work!
omg, that's gorgeous! and the asmr was so satisfying!!
Wow, you're amazing! Well done and beautiful!
Я восхищаюсь тем, как вы работаете! Вы волшебница!!! ❤
Beautiful, beautiful! 😍
I haven't read this one yet.
Absolutely beautiful. And I love Lucy.
Since our dog has been gone for some years now, I truly enjoy any screen time the aging/wonderful Lucy gets!
Absolutely beautiful!!!!

Same! Two of my books are starting to fall apart from the covers and I was just thinking about rebinding them!
Same here - I have several math/science, history, and classic literature books that need to outlast me!
The binding is amzing but the fact that you choose this book!!!! Aaaaaa it is soo good❤❤
*👇🏻 Early team (24 hours)*
I came late is it ok if I like your comment anyway?
Love your videos and your attention to detail. Can you tell me if it's possible to take an existing soft cover book and turn it into a hardcover book?

Is that a GlowForge you used to cut your book board? How nice.
Amazing ❤❤❤
Hi Chanel, do you get the brass letters from Ali Express? And do you somehow affix its holder inside the hot press machine?
is there a way to turn a glue bound book into a sewn bound? I'm guessing not because pages in sewn bound are folded

Where do you find large pages of end paper? All I can find is 12” squares and I need bigger ones for a larger book rebind.

Your content is wonderful! 🤩 Please put back subtitles in Portuguese.🙏🏻 (I used Google translate to be able to leave this message.😅)
I hope I can make a book as well as you do one day. Practice more I think
What kind of paper did you use for the end sheets? It's gorgeous, but all the ones I've seen that are similar are really, really thin!
This one is called Mingei! Mingei Chiri specifically. I also like Tairei. Both are Japanese papers that are a decent weight for endpapers.
Amazing work as always! Could you please share what temperature you are setting your foil stamping machine to? I’m struggling to get a nice print and I’m doing some trials myself. 🙏🏼
101-105 celsius depending on the book cloth! And I press pretty hard for around 5 secs for this machine.
@@bittermelonbindery thank you! I will give it a go. I suspect I was going too hot and it was melting the foil.

What sandpaper do you use to sand your spine?
Hi lovely! What book cloth did you use? Thanks
Verona and Brillianta bookcloth from Book Craft Supply!
