I would love you to do a walk through of your plans and see all the choices you make. I totally agree on storage. Like place for your mops and brooms vacuum etc things you don’t t think of. Make sure you have plenty of insulation.
So exciting! I am an interior designer and I would highly suggest taking down the wall when you walk in, it will make your space look more homey. It’s also the first thing people see when entering the home, a small hallways can easily get crowded. Really looking forward to watching this series xx

It’s crazy crazy expensive to remove a chimney breast in a terraced house, and can be really hard to negotiate if the other owner shares the flue. We thought about it in our house but after looking into it for 5 mins we realised it was a no go due to cost and structural aspects. We kept ours and I love it now! We made good use of the space either side :)
We built our house last year. The feeling seeing it from nothing a frame building site then to a home is so overwhelming! I know how you feel lol but the end result is so so worth it x
That's quite a transformation and the builders are really knuckling down. The kitchen is a funny one because of the skylights and the problem with having cabinet or cupboards underneath is you're losing half of the space the cupboards would be providing, I have this annoying problem in my kitchen too and if I were in your shoes, I would have wall cabinets on the opposite side so you could take advantage of the ceiling to floor possibilities. Good luck with whatever you choose, will be lovely to see the finished result. 🙂

Definitely keep the hallway if you don't mind using up that space as it's safer for the upstairs if a fire was to break out downstairs, due to the fire rated door(s) coming from it. As for the chimney breast.. I guess it depends if there's still anything behind it, shelves either side of it could be an option if you decide to keep it :) As for getting safety boots, there's different types depending on what risk level the site may pose (eg, steel toe cap, steel sole), I don't know how many types Timberland do. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Emily if your still in Northamptonshire than we used Terrysblinds in Kettering a couple of years back not sure if he's still about I found him on Facebook he used to be based in Corby near the company shop & weetabix but moved in 2019 when I brought from him! Lovely guy & really good prices considering everything is made to measure & order...he did all sorts including self opening & closing motorised shutters & blinds all the way down to your standard kitchen roller blind I'll try find him & DM you a link or something if that's of any use to you 🥰 xx

The brick is enough character get rid of that extra fireplace so that wall goes straight across I’m shook it’s that exploded n it’s brick I love it ready for Reno’s open up the walls show that brick off paint it get the proper installation in the ceilings and heat the floors omg it’s gone be sick

There may or may not be a back garden too but it's unlikely to be able to fit in several of those huge industrial bins. If it is, it might not have ideal access for lots of scrap material to be moved around. She will likely have a skip or two if shes lucky that will be placed on the road where cars would usually go, and it will just need emptying out regularly.
If you’re not opening up the chimney, I think it is a waste of space to keep it there. Because otherwise it’s just a protruding wall for what reason? And I know you want that hallway but fuck that hallway😂😂😂 especially when those hallways are so skinny , it is almost always super dark. I’m a huge advocate for natural light.
