The problem with the Almond Cow is this: The machine allows no flexibility because it works on a fixed water to almond ratio. The 5 cup water amount at the minimum fill line and the 1 cup almond cup creates a watery mix. It’s like weak coffee, it tastes horrible. Even if you run the cycle twice it doesn’t help. The only thing that helps is making a batch of “cream” which is just one more cup of almonds mixed in the plastic cup and adding that to your original batch. And you still need to use a nut bag to get the extra milk! That’s too too much work, defeating the purpose of buying an extra machine. In the blender you can put 2 cups of almonds and 7 cups of water and you get a perfect 1/2 gallon of almond milk. The design ratio of the Almond Cow is off.

What do you mean you need a nut bag to get the extra milk? Thats why I bought it over the Nutr is you dont have the extra filtering step, which I feel is the main trade off that the almond cow made with needing the 5 cup ratio. There is a video the almond cow made called, "How To Create Thicker Milk In Your Almond Cow" which has various methods to create a thicker milk. No straining required.

Vitamix makes the best tasting, creamiest nut milks, plus it's so versatile and can do a million other things. Mine lives on the counter, so there's no lugging required, and the cleanup is exactly as easy as the cleaning function shown with the Nutr: rinse, add water and a drop of dish soap, turn it on for a few seconds, and rinse again. I can make almond milk with either soaked or unsoaked almonds, and by blending it in the Vitamix and pouring through the nut milk bag and squeezing, the pulp is dry. More of the nuts are incorporated into the finished milk, which gives it that creamy texture. I tried several nut milk makers and realized that the Vitamix I already had was the perfect tool for the job. I am not a fan of gadgets that only do one thing, and my Vitamix can do so much more. The fact that I vastly prefer the almond milk it makes over the more watery, gritty ones from milk makers is icing on the cake. A Vitamix costs a bit more initially, but its versatility is unmatched. I view it as an investment, as my 20-year-old Vitamix is still going strong.

My best friend sold me when I saw her make fresh cashew coconut milk years ago with the Almond Cow. It was love at first sight and I have had my Almond Cow for 3 years and I have never had an issue with our Almondcow. We absolutely could not live without it. It make the perfect Plant-based milks and even makes incredible coffee creamers. We get a lot of pulp from our machine, and have made granola to oatmeal cookies….so many recipes to make with all the left-over pulp we get. I make big batches of oat milk and almond milk to make my our own homemade Plant based yogurts in our Instant Pot. I would contact the company because that just doesn’t seem right for the issues you are having with the Almond cow.

I was going to buy the Almond Cow but didn't like how big it was. Then I ran across the Nutr machine, saw its smaller size and got that one instead. I am so happy I waited! I absolutely love my Nutr and what it does. I'm sure I would've been just as happy with the end product from Almond Cow, but I didn't want a large machine on my countertop, and it's just me that drinks nut milk. If you are feeding a family, Almond Cow would make sense. I also love that Nutr is easy to clean and has less parts than Almond Cow. I think either way anyone would love either one, it just depends on your needs. Happy nutting! Thanks for this review @SprintKitchen.

I feel the main pro to the almond cow and the tradeoff with the fixed ratios and the hard to attach filter, not mentioned, is it doesnt require the extra filtering step afterwords since it has the filter already inside. Filtering through that little strainer seems like a pain and a potential to make a mess. There are also some tips on the "How To Create Thicker Milk In Your Almond Cow" video that almond cow released.

Thank you for your review! I got the Nutr machine and I do love it. I learned not to use it on warm with oats because it made it too thick like oatmeal. That may have something to do with combining oats, cashews, and almonds to make a creamer - not milk.
The cashew creamer recipe has you use 1/2 cup of water and 2 Tbs of cashews (instead of using 1 cup water for milk). Can I double the recipe? I'd like to make more. I'm afraid I'll blow it up if I try.
The only drawback for me is the noise level. I wrap it in a towel, but it doesnt help much. My cats get scared when I use it. I suspect they will get used to it even if they have to leave the room.

I have been using my blender, but find it thin and some particles settle at the botton when storing in the fridge. I strain it in a nut milk bag and use the pulp in muffins, hot cereal, crackers, etc... but seen someone using a nut milk machine and I had never heard of that before, so very interested! Just wondering what is the difference in texture/taste from nut milk made in a nut milk machine vs blender? I haven’t tried that yet but the Nutr has a set of heat functions on it which could make it possible. I’d ask them directly to be sure

I just got my NUTR from Santa. What I like to do is to have my cashews soaked overnight in the fridge and then there is no pulps at all

Not a video review but I’ve looked into it. It seems similar to the Almond Cow. One thing I don’t like about it is that it has plastic that touches your nut milk.

Correction! Almond cow can not make soy milk! Don’t even try it, it will break! The beans are way too hard.
I don’t recommend almond cow, their warranty is terrible! Mine broke after 2 yrs from very light use. I had used one of their horrible waste of money recipes and the thing broke! No I didn’t over fill it, I followed their recipe. The recipe was a horrible mess! I ended up throwing it out because they didn’t want to fix the problem since it was out of warranty. I was willing to pay a small fee, but instead they offered me to buy the top part for more than half the price of the entire thing. I wasn’t even crazy about the quality of the milk, so I didn’t bother, you are right it is watery. I think you need some pulp or maybe the water needs to sit longer, it’s just wrong! I must of used the thing about 10-12 x in 2 years.
It is overpriced and so not worth it. It is loud and way too big, plus customer service is terrible, at least for me it was. It doesn’t heat up (at least the other option did heat up). The Almond Cow is a big overpriced mediocre blender, that gives watery results. It was one of the worst waste of money purchase!
I say stick to vitamix that has a 8-10 yr warranty and last for well over 15 yrs! Customer service was an amazing experience for me! They stand by their product! I’ve had mine for 15 yrs! Last year I bought the stainless steel container (after I got rid of the almond cow) it was worth it to me. Cashew milk doesn’t need to be strained.
I did get great results with my new Nama juicer, I even used way less soaked almonds than what was recommended, it was way nicer results especially comparing it to the almond cow. Sorry this is so long.
    Best

Actually, they didn’t pay me to say this! A sponsorship is where a company pays you to do a sponsored video. I’m an affiliate, meaning I tried the product, liked it, listed out the pros and cons, and then shared them to save you hours of research. They didn’t pay me a cent for this video. If you like the product, you can buy it with or without my link. If you don’t like the product, that’s cool too. When you buy using my link, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps support the channel and covers the expenses involved in the making of this video (camera, equipment, editing etc). This one took a few days to create plus I had to test it for several weeks.

You can soak your nuts before you use the almond cow. I run it through twice and the milk is more creamy. Also he makes it seem difficult to use the almond cow. I find it easy to use and not that difficult to twist on the filter part. It only takes me a few seconds and I didn’t break my machine. I read the instructions on how to use before using it.
