Hi Ted, RAF Holbeach bombed and shot up since 1926, and still it will not die!!! What an absolute treat of a video this is. Not so much for the CV-22B as for the Chinook. The minigunners expending ammunition like they didn't have to pay for it hee hee. But the real joy of this video for me was when you said that an M60 is installed at the rear door. I had no idea that this iconic machine gun served in any capacity in the UK armed forces. When you mentioned this fact I started quietly praying to myself please fire the M60, please fire the M60. And then it happened, that wonderful, evocative slow rate of fire. And to cap it all a really good close up of the M60 and the rear doors closing. I like this video Ted, I like this video a lot!!!
Hi Stephen, thanks for your super comments. This was our first time visiting the range and we realised that it is not only pot luck if and what comes along, it is also pot luck what targets they want to hit. The M60 has a great sound to it doesn’t it? It was brilliant to hear and to see it hitting the targets too. When I first heard it, I was thinking of war movies etc, it’s got a very unique and yes very evocative sound. Glad you liked the video. Hope to visit hear again soon and see what else comes along to have a go. 🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧
well done Ted - safety first as always , that's the way to go ! thanks for sharing , I have never seen this done . interesting how the Chinooks ramp works ........... Hugs from Geoff .
Hi Fred and Geoff. Thanks ever so much. Indeed, as this is a dangerous place to be but can be watched safely. Yeah, I’ve never seen the ramp in action on the Chinook. 🐻hugs 🧸🇬🇧
Interesting, I haven't been there since '78 from Honnington. We used a pill box type shelter on the tidal marshes there when we blew up life expired explosives. First time I saw an A10 using its gun, too. In fact it was the first time I'd seen an A10 other than in pictures?
Hi. Glad we brought back memories. Do check out the F16s at Holbeach AWR, they fire the M61 Vulcan cannon which rates at 6,000 rounds p/m. Pretty impressive. Wish I could have seen the A10
Evening Ted, We had an Osprey operating out of (as it happens) "Osprey Quay" here on Portland just over a week ago 👍...... the same evening a Wildcat ran across from Hamworthy and they both circuited a few times and hovered over/near a naval support vessel that was on station about 5NM to the South West of Portland 👍...... It was a "Tad" chilly that evening and a "Little" breezy.... so if the SBS were a playing.... they'd have needed a good snifter when back on shore 👍🤣👍 As ever..... Well done Ted (and ya minder) 👍🙂👍 See ya at Hurn 👍 Nick
Right on que the most amazing Osprey Tilt Rotor arriving to add a few holes to the target. Its gonna do its best to remove the ship lol " Its Gotta Go". There's no doubt about it, they are formidable aircraft gunship. Smoke and bullets... brrrrt brrrrt, nice work Ted. Did you call in the strike? Here it is Ted, Chinook Drrr drrr pulsating sound there . 10:05 = Awesome shot of Tower and Wokka.. super brrrrrt brrrrrrt bursts of bullets. Smoke and everything. Just keeps on firing. You cant get board of these can you, astounding aircraft, attractive in Matt Green.. brrrrt brrrrt, it goes on. Linc Cheese has holes now. Never fails to deliver AWR Holbeach!, does it? I trully never knew it was used so much. Been a Immense place since I've joined! Eye opener. You don't want them too stop ever.. Lets all try and make that bullet noise like we did when we were kids 😂😊. Smile a minute. You got this stream and filming stuff down to a T!! Ted and Nikos Time for bed Ted, the Chinook's off now. A pleasure. As ever! Salute the TCS! No:- 694 Just live streams left soon Ted, everything else Ive now watched. He he ....

@@TedConingsby I would never guess there is a "faring" that pops out of the ramp to cover the hole under the tail unit !
@@fredtedstedman I know! Me too, I didn’t know about that and glad we hit the record button to get it 😎🤙🏼🧸🇬🇧
