When I was at Hurlburt and they were bringing these CV-22s in, first time ever in service...must have been 2005 or 2006...I got a chance to ride one. It was terrifying during certain phases of flight. I remember thinking it seemed super unstable, which was odd, because helicopters, which is what I was used to, are inherently unstable. Understand, that's not an indictment of the aircraft. At that time, there weren't many pilots with a substantial number of hours under their belt on the Osprey. It was mostly simulator time.
