    • Yes, I used a real VCR to do this.
    • Yes, this is the third iteration of my BMRF EAS video series.

@@EstratosVarios I might use ntsc-rs for more since it's just so close to the real thing, I might as well use riteg

I was too young to remember this when it happened, but I remember the stories people tell about it

This is very nice! Good job! Though I wanna give you a couple of sugestions.
Try putting an advertisement in the beginning of the video. it would help fill up the begining of the tape before getting into the good stuff (the EAS)
More tracking and tape visual errors. would make it feel more authentic.

      Thanks!
I don't really know what advertisement is suitable in this case, for next videos I might just use a news report (one of those creative works circulating the internet currently) if the author gives me permissions.
Visial glitches are dictated by the video processing pipeline: this one is composed from two VCR playbacks, one is just playing as usual and the other one is fast-forwarding a little and then playback as usual. I value my VCR enough to not be able to torture it to the point of losing tracking and whatnot :)
And to be fair, it's a mid-end late 90s (1997) VCR so any kind of distortion is period-accurate in terms of recording and playback quality (though tape also matters, I can't bring myself into damaging tape as well, those things are EXPENSIVE these days lmao)... The only thing I would add is ATV snow and other kinds of distortions and that might as well be done with things like ntsc-rs, time will tell

Creative, I like how real this sounds. No cheap jumpscares, no bs, just straight to the point - and that's what makes it creepy tbh.
    Also nice Komi pfp

You could of just used the EAS broadcast from Black Mesa office complex

The voice acting on it is fine but it's already squashed into low dynamic range of radio, and isn't a TTS, use of which may be more "realistic"
