The breakout of parts of the 9th Army is a very underestimated feat of arms. With no air support, and outnumbered 10 to 1 the 9th Army was still able to achieve this stunning result. I always imagine the Americans west of the Elbe listening to the Germans and Soviets fighting and thinking how lucky they were to have only ever gotten a fleeting glimpse of it in the Ardennes.
