You’ve just heard ‘no’ from your authorized dealer, it might feel a bit wrong, since you can see the actual watch in the display, but you are not allowed to buy it since it’s for exhibition only. Once you’ve established a solid relationship, you might even be allowed to buy a brand-new Rolex for the so called list price
You’re not kidding on a waitlist entry-level Rolex. Went back and put my name on a list again for a date just. still no response from the Rolex. Went to other organizations that are Rolex dealers too. They had date just but not the one I wanted .
You are wrong . They won’t sell to you but to the grey market for profits or you need to buy other brands without discount and they may sell to you . This is my personal experience and knowledge.

Here’s a tip, don’t degrade yourself to these people. They don’t own Rolex, they are simply a middleman. By end of 2025 there won’t be a waiting list anymore, maybe on a Daytona but everything else will become available again, so be patient and buy other brands in the meantime but I wouldn’t go gray market or buy stuff you don’t want or belittle yourself because at the end of the day it’s the money in your pocket that keeps these people employed. AD’s need to be reminded of this instead of acting like they hold a cure for cancer.
So basically don't go to an AD spend the extra few thousand and get it aftermarket. Why put all that time and effort into saving a few thousand dollars? I don't have time for games by ADs. I'm on a list, they said it would be like 1-3 years. For the extra $2k I got my watch in 2 weeks with all the box and papers. If you aren't spending other money with the AD then they don't care about you. Half the watches sell below retail if your getting Gold or Two Tone. Don't waste your time with snoody ADs.
But I did exact that I went to an AD in Bayreuth, Germany talk to the owner selected my Rolex Coke GMT and my wife choose her 18k/Steel Jubilee band Date-just. We collected the tax free paperwork and submitted to the Army, a week later we pick up our approved paperwork and the check and purchased the 2 previously mentioned Rolex without any delay other than the processing time with the U.S. Army. Easy peasey, lemon squeezey!
Basicly, suck up to the Rolex AD as much as you can. And pray that he find you worthy of granting you the huge favor of being allowed to handle them over your hard earned money. No thanks. I either buy a used one or go for another brand that will actually welcome me.

Agreed. And the extra money basicly lets you enjoy the watch a few years more. And besides you don't have to abandon your dignity at the Rolex AD.
