- I was clean up my camera stuff and very glad to find one of my old SD cards, had some video footage that I shot between 2012 to 2015.
I was so crazed about nunchucks before and during that time, it has been 10 years since I began to practice, I truly think to practice nunchaku is an art - a martial art, a performance art. Also, it is for self-control, self-improvement, enjoyment, and fun. You can be creative and inspire yourself. Rather than as a weapon, and we all love this sport.
So I decide to make a video just for my own memories, hope you like it too. and love to hear your comments, good or bad. Thank you.

God this was so fun to watch and I learned so much. But most of all your collection is amazing. My dad and my older brother used to make Nunchaku and still do every once in awhile. To see all the home made Nunchaku is so admirable. It makes me want to build my own. Thank your for sharing your talent. The world needs more of this

awesome, one question though, can i use nunchucks if the chain is a bit longer than my hand?
No It will uncomfortable mostly
Because then it is hard to wrsit roll and spin👍
You can its just less efficient.. But my chain is slightly over sized and i love it

I want to add more to my nunchaku collection soon, my favorite pair I got 18 years ago are half hardwood & half soft wood on both nunchakus. I don't use them very much because of sentimental value, but I have gotten a pair made from a short length of ebony wood. Which is far heavier than I am use to, sometimes the weight is too much for me and they fly up above me lol

Sorry to hear that, I think that you may be over-practiced. Find out which techniques hurt your wrist more, reduce practice that technique or did you twist your wrist too much for that technique? Good luck! I never hurt my wrist.

What do you prefer? Rope/string nunchucks, or chain nunchucks?
I prefer rope because it is easy to adjust. but some trick works well with chain nunchucks. The weight of the chucks is also very important.
What's your favourite shuang jie gun (I'm used to use the Chinese name)'s type? (I mean, wood, metal, chain, cord, etc...)
I like the metal one with the chain after I short off the chain, and home made with wood and cord, they all fit my hand better.
do you prefer wooden nunchucks or pvc?
Use Wooden nunchucks for regular practice and new movements, because it’s drop proof. PVC nunchucks are just for performant and light practice because they break easily.

@@giantasiansticker8068 , Yes, they do. I got it free from Amitabha Buddhist Society. They are all not for sale. It looks like book or lotus, with a removable stick on the bottom for insert to the ground and solar panel on top. I think they are made in China.

Most of them I got on line, but was long times ago (10 years maybe, sorry for my slow video editing speed!), I couldn't find them anymore, sorry. You might need to make one for yourself, heavy & long length nunchuck is very difficult to use, speed is also important, I don't recommend it.

Sorry, Gino, I am going to re-rope that one, after practice for a while, I found out the yellow sticks are too heavy for the thin black rope. I might shoot a video for that improvement, hope I can find time to do that, thank you for your interest.

@@mingwang7946 thanks for your reply.... I haven't used them since I was 16 years old until I was 19 years old... I am now 55 years old, with kidney failure, 30 percent of eye sight loss in my right eye, Knee problems, and neuropathy in my feet and legs all because of diabetes.... Do you think it's to late for me to try to learn them again, if so what channel on RUclips I can learn from? Thanks
@@BIGGBULLxxx I am sorry to hear about your condition, but you are younger than me, as long as you still have the passion for it. My left hand lost 10% of the feeling and strength due to the shoulder injury, but I still practice the nunchakus, I am 10 years older than you. I will suggest that you use foam nunchakus for safety, you can add weight to it, use paper wrap a chopstick, and insert it into the tub, I have a video for that, ruclips.net/video/oH50M9KyG_Y/видео.html, good luck!

@@BIGGBULLxxx I do meditation and exercise daily, go to bed no later than 11pm and eat only 3 meals a day, no snacks between meal, full stomach make people tired. I don’t like to take medication or other energy products, sorry.
