I really love watching these videos and i appreciate the videos you do. I messed up my lower back bad and the only thing i can do is watch videos because i can't be up on my feet more than 10 minutes until the pain gets bad. I'm so tired of the pain
Getting a tour of Richard Petty's childhood home by the king himself. Not many things in your life will ever top this my friend. I've always loved how he was considered the best in his sport, yet he's always a down-to-earth man. He's driving an accomplishments gained him respect, his attitude kept that respect. Always happy and extremely nice. Not many people in his position would have that attitude. And I'm sorry but I just have to add, you're standing in Richard Petty's house with Richard fukin Petty.. I don't know, I'm sorry I had to add that. I'm just watching this happen and imagining what that would be like. Thank you for bringing us these videos. And I'm from connecticut. @@whoknows3347 WTF are you on about? That gibberish made no sense whatsoever. There is no reason for you to have such horrible communication & grammar skills in 2022. Go back to school or read some books.
The nicest guy in the world as you found out, we've been there several times, and he was always gracious. He will sit for as long as it takes, still, until everyone who wants an autograph gets it. And no charge forever. I missed this video, but excellent work as usual. i never get tired of going up there and visiting the house, museum, and especially the shop where they still build Dodge By Petty Challengers, and even Ford Mustangs.
Richard Petty is the best! Iv watched him sit for hours and sign autographs when I was young in late 70s at Martinsville while others left. And iv been here an x stop many times , my mom would tell me about everyone living in the same house back when I was a baby ,I guess it was a southern thing and financially it was probably what was best.
I'm from McDowell county N.C and when I was a young boy Richard was my guy. He retired when I was 7 and I remember watching his last race and feeling sad that The Kings time was at an end. I spent a lot of time almost feeling jealous of folks who had gotten to see him race for so long and that I'd only been able to watch a couple of years. You know, Growing up here in N.C there have always been 3 men that are native sons that are special to us. Michael Jordan, Dale Earnhardt...and The King Richard Petty. So when I found myself 10 minutes away from the shop for work I had to stop and check it out. I ended up meeting Richard and Mr Inman and it was such a surreal experience. Richard has the biggest presence of any celebrity I've ever met but his humble nature and gentle spirit felt very familiar and relatable and in many ways reminded me of many of my own family members. If you'd told that little 7 year old me that one day I'd meet him I wouldn't have believed it. I cant imagine how cool making these Petty videos must have been. I think what you're doing with videos like this is so important. It allows folks like me to experience what it was like in times before our own time. You're not just preserving Nascar or Racing history. You're preserving American history. Well done and keep up the good work.
As a child we would always go to nascar races with the Cub Scouts in Riverside Ca. It was such a treat to watch Richard Petty pass by. Man did I want to meat the legend himself. Thank you for sharing such an important part of his life with us. It’s a treat to find out how one grows up from humble beginnings to a brand that will last a life time. God bless
My favorite driver from the good old days of NASCAR, getting a tour from Mr. 43 the King. Im glad you were able to get this on film and bring it to the world.
april 23,2019, i visited the museum. richard, sharon and rebecca signed a book i brought with me. super nice people! thank you all! dave wolfs, north olmsted, ohio
I'm a 52 year old man.The heyday of Nascar in my opinion is 70s-late 80s.That is what I grew up on.Thank you for showing the history of my childhood heroes.
I met him at a what-a-burger in Concord NC as a child eating with his crew, got his autograph on a food ticket. I still have it 30 yrs later He was such a nice guy!
All 3 of these Petty videos are just simply outstanding. Wow. My Grandfather who introduced me to racing when I was 8 back in the 1970's was a DIEHARD Petty fan. The Pettys are such real people. Late in his life he would receive a Get Well card with a note in the hospital hand written by Linda and Richard when my Uncle would call down to the shop. Excellent work on these!
I remember watching Richard Petty race, (and cheering for him) when he drove the Superbird. (Shows my age, huh?) and I’ve always been impressed by the fact that he is always smiling. What a cool guy, and you are so blessed to get these opportunities! Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm from Eastern Kentucky.
Another amazing tour and obviously a great history lesson. It’s no wonder, Richard became the King, with such close family ties. The Petty family is such a great example of what being American is truly all about - all for one, one for all. I’ve had the pleasure to meet Richard twice, and he was exactly the same great personality both times, willing to sincerely share his time and thoughts above and beyond expectations. He’s much more than the King of NASCAR, he’s a real family man, connected with a real family - probably the true measure of success on so many levels. When I grow up, I hope I’m just half that successful. Thanks for sharing and God bless you both, as well as the entire Petty family. All of you are just really good people.
I’ve been a Richard Petty fan from birth! So cool to see the home that he started his life in! Remember going to Level Cross in the 80s to visit the shop and Richard coming out holding some buttered cornbread saying that his wife and made a fresh pan and would we like some with some milk! That’s one thing I’ve always liked about Richard is that he has always stayed grounded. I live in Southwest Virginia and have been to a lot of the race shops you have on your channel so some good memories for me! Thanks for all you do!
What an experience. I can't imagine how amazed you were to be in his presence and be able to get a tour from the King himself! Envious, but super happy to see you got to have this experience.
Being from Australia 🇦🇺 i wold have never have gotten to get to see things such as this .What an opportunity you both have thanks for your time and dedication to preserving history .
This series on the Petty's is just awesome to me. I grew up from birth in 1970 to know Richard Petty was the king and revered in my family. My grandfather owned modified cars in the 60's and they ran the #43 and were painted Petty Blue. This is just great history of where the sport came from.
Such an amazing opportunity to get to spend some one-on-one time with THE KING! My son collects NASCAR die cast cars, and only has 2 that he wanted signed. The first was a #5 GoDaddy signed by Mr. Mark Martin. Mark stopped when we were at the gate to the driver's coach area at TMS and signed my boys die cast. Mark stopped and talked with him for a bit about liking my son's razorback hat he had on. My son still tells that story, and that minute or so of Marks time meant the absolute world to my-then 6 year old son. The second car is signed by Richard. Texarkana Machine Shop is run by Steve Petty (Richards cousin) and when we went to the shop to pick up some machined parts, my son told Steve he had a die cast like one of the pictures in the lobby. Steve asked if he wanted it signed by Richard, and my son lit up with an excited "YES SIR!!!" Steve told him to pack it up in a box and bring it by the shop and he would send it to Richard to get signed. A few weeks later we got a call that the diecast was back from North Carolina, and ready to be picked up. My son still has the box with the shipping label and cancelled postage stamps on it. 😂 God forbid we ever have a house fire, but I know those 2 cars would be the first things my son would grab before leaving the house. Those two men have done so much for racing, and I'm glad to see you spending time with them, and so many of the other greats of NASCAR, getting the stories directly from them. I know this is a lot of work, and expensive to do....but thankfully you and Logan are putting in the work and making those sacrifices. I love to see all that drive paying off.
Richard is a very real person! I have always liked the Petty's. I met Richard back when I was a kid in 92 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. He was so cool. I remember him letting me sit on his lap to take a pic!
I can't even tell you how cool this is. I was a huge Petty fan, so to hear his story in his own words is amazing. Thank you man...and thank you to The King for being open to doing this.
You could stop making history videos today and have a complete collection of NASCAR history videos. Man it’s so awesome to see the things you’re doing in your channel. This is so cool man. I met Richard a few years ago such a nice man.
This is why you never hear anyone say something negative about the King. Can you seriously think of anyone so down to earth and humble? I'm so glad he's healthy and his mind is sharp to share all this history.
This is so cool seeing where Richard Petty and his family lived while growing up. It's great that the home is preserved and the fans can see it. It's a nice house. Thank you to the King for sharing his memories of his early life.
Thanks for all that you do.This is the best video on RUclips. I was the biggest fan of Richard Petty this means a lot to me.Thanks and God bless both of you for doing this!!!
The first time I went to petty enterprises Lee petty was sitting on that front porch in a rocking chair waving, got to shake his hand, a autograph, and sat and talked a while; met Richard and got a tour of the shop, a handshake, a autograph, and talked a while… they down home folks and my hero’s
That's so awesome. I just posted a separate comment that the one and only time I went to the museum I saw what I believed to be Lee hitting golf balls on the lawn in front of the house.
I can't even imagine what it must be like to talk with the actual legends at the places where so much racing history happened. You should be honored that these people share their memories and experiences with you to share with us. Thanks for doing what you do.
Love it!! A true living legend. You guys are keeping "THE REAL'' NASCAR alive with the history. We need a tour down at the garage on the corner of Sedan street in Kannapolis,NC.I hope you get that opportunity in the future!!Watching from Campbellsville, KY. #3
This is the one i have been praying to see. That man is a person everyone knows even if you have only seen 1 NASCAR race. He is a wealth of history and knowledge, what a thrill. You guys did it again.
One thing that sticks out to me around 4:55 The king talks about how they let the house dry out. Before they plastered the walls, and did the overall finish of that house. Since it took three to four years to finish completely. Which is definitely telling to the fact that they have not had settling issues in the house. To which the drywall and plastering has not cracked or door jams not shifted causing problems with doors closing, or gaps in the door jams allowing outside air to get into the house. It is amazing how people in his granddads era, actually knew what they were how to build a house that would stand the test of time. This is how a lot of the older home builders I had the privilege to be around, would build a home. Because I have been in older homes they built, and the walls, trim, and doors are still perfectly gapped, and no cracks in the sheetrock.
this is down the road from my own grandmas house. my uncle who just passed in 2021 was one of petty's buddies growing up. my dad was 10yrs younger. richard was so kind to come to my grandmothers funeral in the early 2000's. he's a genuinely kind man.
Woooow incredible. Again thanks, for this opportunity and for taking the history to people like me always something more interesting every video is a bigger experience. And for those that don't want to see ads "pay you tube premium " easy... . With love and respect, thanks BLESSINGS FOR YOU AND YOURS.
Seems you two are getting known in the "inner" circle of the old school drivers and teams now. I truly hope it keeps growing and more great names from history will host you for these videos. Time passes so fast and these people will be gone as well as their stories and the memories. This stuff is HUGE and it's just awesome to be able to learn and see things about our heroes that are now recorded forever for us all to enjoy any time we want. Loved every minute of this one and look forward to the next. Your hard work and dedication to preserving history is very much appreciated by a ton of people. Thank You!!
Love these videos. The first one I stumbled upon was the Wood Brothers video. Unbelievable the knowledge those guys have and their retention of it. Please keep doing what your doing. From Rockford, IL former home of the great 1/4 mile high banked bull ring Rockford Speedway. I used to see Dick Trickle, Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace race here back in the late 70's. Now it's going to be tore up for a subdivision or something. That's why your work is so important.
What an unbelievably awesome experience to be in a place so rich in history with "THE KING RICHARD PETTY " himself giving you a personal tour! Thank you both for everything y'all do to bring us all of this priceless history of NASCAR!!
Richard is a super good man , I just talked to him and dale few weeks ago at a service of one of our Mutual friends that passed Richard is an awesome man he’s the same every where are you see him
GREAT vid! I remember once when I visited Petty Enterprises that Lee was putting on the front yard. I was about 14 or so then. I waved to him, he gave me a grumpy look, continued putting, and that made my day.
I had a feeling a new video was coming . What a treat . The king has been my one and only sports idol. Grew up in the early 70's watching every race that was on TV. As I sit here there is a #43 car sitting in front of me on my desk. Thank you for doing this.
Had the opportunity to interview Richard at the office/shop out back there at the end of the '98 season but didn't go into the house. Love this video, great hearing from the Petty girls about the history!!!
Kudos man. Bringing the history of the sport back to life and making sure it isn’t forgotten is awesome. Cool to be able to tie what goes on now back to the foundation.
Gotta be the best nascar video to date.. Richard is a freaking legend!!! Great job sir and great contacts.. To keep history alive!! Keep em coming sir!! And props to you and your wife!! Love it!
Wow!! To meet Richard and have him show you around the house he grew up in, along with his other family. Simply amazing! I remember seeing Richard in person for the first time at the 1985 Firecracker 400. What a humble man. So very cool! I have a race tire autographed by him. Thanks for bringing the great history and sharing it! The ads are no big deal. It's all good!
Like I have said before the two of you are truly the luckiest people alive and hope you cherish every second as we do watching it! Something like this may never be seen again…. Wonderfully done!
Peoria, IL here. Yet another awesome NASCAR history video from you guys! I’ll always put up with ads if it means you to continuously be able to put out content like this. Thank you Mitchell and Logan for what you do!
You guys are amazing with the access you get. This is the freaking KING! I ran into to him a SEMA a few years ago. He was walking through the crowd totally unassuming by himself in his way to a sponsors booth. These initiate stories are absolutely fascinating. Can’t wait who you have up next.
Y'all are killing it. Great job getting Richard to come over for a few minutes. Super impressed..I'm watching it and thinking.."why hasn't someone done this before?" It's so cool to watch your evolving content.!
Love your videos. I've been a diehard NASCAR fan since 1991 (age 11) and the history means a ton, it's what I've grown up idolizing. You guys keep up the wonderful work, I'm going to buy a shirt now. Thanks.

I try to watch the first one or two of the videos but I can't lie I always skip the second one
I'm subscribed and get all notifications of all videos.
The freaking King are you kidding me!
My sentiments EXACTLY I was like THE KING GIVING THEM A PERSONAL TOUR? WHAAAAAATTTTT???
Richard Petty always relates to people like you were his neighbor. Down to earth, for a man that has been world famous for over 60 years in racing.
Of all the nascar hero’s you’ve had the opportunity to get history lessons from, this is by far the best. THE RICHARD PETTY!!!
What A Humble Man… There Will Never Be Another Richard Petty!
There is no NASCAR history without the Pettys. That was truly a living history tour being led by the King himself. Amazing!

This is how a lot of the older home builders I had the privilege to be around, would build a home. Because I have been in older homes they built, and the walls, trim, and doors are still perfectly gapped, and no cracks in the sheetrock.
Yeah man…everything is disposable now it seems
this is down the road from my own grandmas house. my uncle who just passed in 2021 was one of petty's buddies growing up. my dad was 10yrs younger. richard was so kind to come to my grandmothers funeral in the early 2000's. he's a genuinely kind man.
WOW what a special treat that must have been! Did you have to pinch yourself to make sure it was real?? Thank you for sharing this special video!!
Long live the KING! my childhood HERO! and still is! Bless you Richard!
Awesome once again. You are both getting access and giving us access to history we wouldn't get to see otherwise. 👍
Thanks Andrew that’s our goal!
I'll sit through an ad any day to watch such cool content. It's the king. You don't see this stuff on tv
Good to see King Richard going STRONG at age 85! Looks like he could make it to 100!
Stapleton you really r something else. Meeting the legends of NASCAR and getting to here their stories first hand. U r amazing
THE KING !! This was such an awesome learning and amazing video enjoyed a lot !!
Glad you enjoyed it sir!
Thank You!!
Thanks man!!
This has bern the best series on RUclips! Been a Petty fan since i was old enough to watch (late 70's)
Thanks for sharing!!
This channel was already awesome but now it is legendary! The King allowing this access! This is gold!
We appreciate you Joshua!!
Thanks man!!
What an unbelievably awesome experience to be in a place so rich in history with "THE KING RICHARD PETTY " himself giving you a personal tour! Thank you both for everything y'all do to bring us all of this priceless history of NASCAR!!
AAAAMAzING YOU .... U got this personal tour !👍👍👍👍
You’re welcome man
Had the opportunity to interview Richard at the office/shop out back there at the end of the '98 season but didn't go into the house.
Love it!
Thank you so much Brian we are glad you're here!
Thank you glen! Hard work done consistently over a long period of time creates luck
Peoria, IL here. Yet another awesome NASCAR history video from you guys! I’ll always put up with ads if it means you to continuously be able to put out content like this. Thank you Mitchell and Logan for what you do!
thank you for your support Brian!
Petty really hasn't changed that much has he, still a great guy. Good video.
I could listen to his stories all day long!!! Absolute legend!!
That is sooo cool! Richard and his family seem to be amazing people. I always imagined he would be such a cool guy to meet!
I like seeing him in the winners circle at the races and he really looks good for his age. What a Gentleman Legend and very Humble ,Too!
I'm glad someone is getting these stories . The NASCAR Legends Reunion is great.
You guys are amazing with the access you get. This is the freaking KING! I ran into to him a SEMA a few years ago. He was walking through the crowd totally unassuming by himself in his way to a sponsors booth.
These initiate stories are absolutely fascinating. Can’t wait who you have up next.
Personal tour by the King...epic!
Y'all are killing it. Great job getting Richard to come over for a few minutes.
Super impressed..I'm watching it and thinking.."why hasn't someone done this before?"
It's so cool to watch your evolving content.!
That's pretty awesome to get a tour from The King himself!
Love your videos. I've been a diehard NASCAR fan since 1991 (age 11) and the history means a ton, it's what I've grown up idolizing. You guys keep up the wonderful work, I'm going to buy a shirt now. Thanks.
Thank you Madison we appreciate you!
Wow awesome! Richard seems to be doing great at 85 years young! Gladstone Oregon USA. The shirt is great and fits perfect BTW !!!
Thanks man!!! We are so glad to hear that
Many have already summed up how I feel - appreciate your mission with this channel so much, thank you!
