@@patriotenfield3276 No. Iran manufactures T72-S under license and using the expertise they developed from two decades of churning them out at home, they branched out and built an entirely new one from scratch. Because it's really hard to reverse-engineer stuff. You can see the Vehicle A video here. It was a Yugoslav reverse-engineered T-34/85. They can deny it all they want but I dont believe for a minute this was made in house. A very aesthetically pleasing tank all the same though.
So dumb question. Lol if they had a 100 T72 why didn’t they just copy it? Why get a license for it?
It’s a lot easier to produce on license because they get all the blueprints and will learn how to make them/ be given help to spin up the first production line. Not to mention all the possible diplomatic troubles copying without license could cause.
Having Uralvagonzavod setting up a tank factory in Iran was probably a cheaper alternative to retroengineering captured tanks, building a pre-series production line and starting experimenting with making a few models in order to find and fix technical problems as well as finding the optimal efficiency/cost tradeoff in production.
They did. or maybe the Russians themselves told the Iranians to knock out their (Russian) involvement out ...from the papers.
@@patriotenfield3276 No. Iran manufactures T72-S under license and using the expertise they developed from two decades of churning them out at home, they branched out and built an entirely new one from scratch.
It's already in service but it's merely the first iteration - I'm hearing that around 5 years down the line, they will rework optics and fire control system completely, then add in a new APFSDS into service to replace the "Mango" rounds in use.
Because it's really hard to reverse-engineer stuff. You can see the Vehicle A video here. It was a Yugoslav reverse-engineered T-34/85. It was awful because the designers had no idea what materials to use, nor was each tank the same.
With production licences, the seller of the licence will provide blueprints, material specifications, advisory personnel and even tooling. Cheaper and easier than to start it all by your own.
A cheaper upgrade of the T-72 than the T-90 is. And it will be about as effective as it is in Ukraine. Prepare for the launch of the turret 🤣🤣🤣
It's about the doctrine and not about the tanks. The Russian tank crews could be driving the Armata or the Abrams and would still be losing but a T-72 in the right crew's hands is still deadly . Abrams tanks being destroyed in Iraq and Yemen prove my point.
@@MikoyanGurevichMiG21 read on lousy training and downgraded versions not a good combination in combat. There are records of US version of the A1 getting stuck in Iraq and peppered from all sides by Iraqi troops and tanks. They survived without major damage while the export version like i said read. But like your name suggests the sun shines out of the USSRs arse and they produced only good things 🤣🤣🤣
@@jacksonteller1337 well, the constant use of the emojis suggest a lack of understanding and intelligence so I'm not going to talk further about your comment. My point literally agrees with what you said. The export or import versions make no difference if you stick incompetent crews in them,
@@MikoyanGurevichMiG21 you are the only one on here that doesn't understand. And mirroring your state of mind just tells me you are most likely another Russian with an IQ lower than my boot size. Enjoy your school junior you might actually learn something eventually come back when you have basic reading level or enjoy spending time in Ukraine using the Mosin Nagant as they are mobilising in December again.
Would love to see Iran's new tank get the Iraqi T-72 treatment, Hellfires, Mavericks, JDAM's and Abrams APFSDS.
Can you do serbian m-84as1/2?
Automatically launch smoke grenades... Yeah... totally won't mess up it's own crew, too

Let's not be silly here. Iran is not alone, we all are responsible, every single country will pay in the end.
@@JohnSmith-fd5un im not against iran trolling a bit its been a few hundred years since our last proper war crime
This tank does not exist, they bought one T 90 MS from Russia and there is always only one tank in the movies.
Iran is a funny country
A country under more than 1700 different sanctions more than any other country
T90M is better
