1967 Shelby GT500 Meets 2012 Shelby GT500 | Mag Motors

- This is such a cool car! I've watched my friend Michael and Mag Motors refine it over the past couple of years and its truly an impressive performance based muscle car. Combining the looks of the iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 while borrowing the mechanical/technical aspects of a 2012 Shelby GT500. I think Michael and Mag Motors has nailed this concept and this car is a blast to drive!
Enjoy!

I like this, modern technology with old school looks.
i wish manufacturers would do that as a retro line they would sell far faster than most if priced correctly and not gouged to death by dealers
I would rather have an original 67 mustang but I would buy this car over a new mustang.
I like the concept of this car a lot. The look of ‘67 but so much more driveable.
I have a 67 fastback. It’s very uncomfortable to drive but looks great. I love how technology has made cars safer and more comfortable. I also agree with you and I’d rather get this mustang over a new one.
@@NeverAgainVids
.
Well its 200k so I am on the fence
@@NeverAgainVids hey may I ask you a something should I get this 70 gt500 white or a 69 camaro z28 Rs Daytona yellow with black stripes I can only get one which one should I go for
Making me dizzy walking around the car 12 times
Tommy Ferrigno you are right I totally agree I thought maybe I was the only one that noticed that. there's a lot of really bad body work on this car too.
Holly shit I thought I was being a complainer but I was going to say the same thing!! Those opening shots are way too busy going side to side and walking a million times around the car
Tommy Ferrigno I appreciate the input guys. Don’t k ow why I walked around so much on this one but I hear you loud and clear. Hope you liked the rest of the vid
AutotopiaLA I did, and i did give it a like too, entertaining videos for sure, thank you!
Need more 20 times walking around to review look fck!
I'm not going to lie to you I'm actually feeling this car. It's so like they took modern technology and mixed it with the past Mustang and made a great car I would definitely love to have one
I’m with you. Best of both worlds.
I love it, if I win the Lottery I’m going to get one.
He’ll be ready for you
How do u guys make them?
If I win I’ll buy u n me 1
Best of both worlds
Exactly
All these “ I would rather have” comments are from dudes who drive 1998 Camry’s
Hey man mine is a 2007 with the V6 with factory duels pushing 300 horses...shes my daily ha ha ha lol
before you ask, yes it is an A/C car
@@adamdavis2760
Your V6 isn't pushing 300 hp without some help. What have you done to it? My 2007 4.0 has just about every bolt on i could buy for it (minus forced induction) and its nowhere near 300 hp. It runs better than it did when I got it, but a speed demon it still is not, lol.
@@brussell639 well I started with the 3.5 liter v6 which is about 270 hp from the factory. I went with a true duel exhaust for free flow, then i added a forced air induction system and some high volume injectors....I havent got an ECU and prob wont....The car really doesnt need any more I had her doing 147 and thats fast enough for my family car...one of the more reliable cars I have owned ...Ive been a GM guy my entire life but you cant sleep on the Toyota Camry
@@adamdavis2760
Ah, I thought you were talking about a V6 mustang, lol. It's a 4.0, but only 210 hp, same engine that's in my exploder. Just a real turd for performance, nothing like the newer V6 engines being made now. My son just bought a new Camry with the 301 hp 3.5 liter V6. He's pretty happy with it. It's a cool looking car.
Ford needs to release classic editions that are these
Yes !
Or make with classic lineup but for tune and pimp🤗
I want have fun by pimp and drive.
Like a Lego for cars 😁
Best regrads
Absolutely!
I'd probably buy a car this expensive if it's a retrofit car, like this one. Old look, modern equipments. That's the way I like it.
They were going in the right direction when the new mustang came out in 2005, then leave it to ford to start walking backwards after taking a step forward.
Ford should take notes and team up with this guy. I am an American muscle car fan and if Ford goes back to producing muscle cars like this I will definitely become a buyer. Until then I don't have an extra 180k so Mopar muscle is my home for now!
Good comment. Really good!
Totally agree. Love mustangs but at 250k including donor car, I would take one hellcat, gt350r, and ss 1le. Or a lambo because Countach poster as a kid lol
ford already dos not have a high finish quality, and this guy is even worse, i thought mr Davis knew better and not to review this low quality builds. But it has a gt500 in the title of the video so it will get some sweet views, right.
Franklin Strong ford company won’t cause they r bitch! Just build em as modernization!
Fuck those ford company! *Let em lose!*
Ford has been and fastest production car ford ever made being released now..
the '67 Shelby gt500 is my dream car, every time i see one i just gawk at it because of its beauty
I love that this one employs modern technology for better drive ability.

Congratulations Michael, so glad to have seen and driven with this car in person! Awesome video!
I love the idea. And the best thing is they are not wrecking a classic 67 mustang in a restomod.
Exactly! And the body is primarily carbon fiber.
if he made molds from this prototype then there will be some unsatisfied customers...
I would absolutely buy this car if I had the chance.
Its at the auction now u can buy it its wrecked!
@@wasamarame it got wrecked? Is there a video?
I really love how he putting the 12-14 shelby chassis under a 67 body!
Such a cool idea
@Crimson Idol not really up to you what other people do with their cars though is it? thank god. Not your car, Not your problem. I'd love to wide body kit LS swap a '67 mustang fastback right in front of you just to drink your tears.
@@someotherguyy Haha haha bro, I would drive the shit outta that car too. 😀
I would love to see GM do this with the Chevelle, they would make a killing
Adam Davis yes they would!!!
You know what I like about the guy? He's not trying to sell us one like some people, not talking way too much, nice
likeable person, not overselling the product. Just explaining all about what they did to the car, great job. My friend has a 67
that looks like Elanor, he paid 160k for it, it is unreal! his color is a medium metallic red with light grey stripes.
I would still be happy with a rusted beat up 67
love my stroked 70 coupe
Like that fox body u got there, got one myself ;)
67 fastback 4 sale
Rockstar Da2 same here bro I have 6 lmao !
Rockstar Da2 wanna check them out add my snap danny_1765
1970 BOSS ????😍PLEASE!!!
OK,l just watched the RD jr video of his 70 and now lm in luv!!!!
I've watched a number of these Mustang body swap videos and I must say that Mag Motors has the perfect side rocker set up. On a lot of these swaps that's a problem area that tends to stand out like a sore thumb. But this one is perfect.
Too bad all these kind of builds are so crazy expensive
Absolutely by far the most beautiful car in the world with out a doubt my 2 favorite cars in the world!
But the question is!!! Can it be done with the 2018 Shelby??? An ever more luxurious interior with even more advanced technology I would love to see the use of the 2018 digital gage cluster and the new all wheel drive features as well!
Please make it happen! Love this car
I’m sure it could. The cost would change but it could be done.
That design is literally perfect - I would not change a single damn thing on it. Pinnacle.
You aren't exactly the Queen Elizabeth or Albert Einstein of the motors respected world. Just because you say that it is perfect in every way, doesn't mean it is a fact, that your idea is the fact if that makes sense.
Anybody else smile on the opening of the video where the car drives away....no just me ok 😍
Perfection ! That's NOT an Eleanor , that's a Marilyn. The body , engine , wheels and sound is Beautiful. 😘👍👍👍👍
I don't know much about cars, but I could be watching this car for hours. It's one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen.
It’s a really great build. Looks like 1967 but is all modern chassis, suspension, engine, etc
This is UNBELIEVABLE! Freakin AWESOME!!!
Oh My God. That car, that car right there IS the DREAM!!!
perfect, just perfect. old meets new, new meets old. best of both worlds. Just perfect, I'm lost of words after watching this video.
Awesome!!
It's definitely a unique car and setup. Something to think about. If I were to have a Shelby GT500 Eleanor? Everything stock or the same that looks on the outside, but making the inside quite modern.
I seen this done back in the day with a 99' svt cobra chassis. I preferred the stance it had with that setup I think. Either way it's a beautiful build and I love anything with that beautiful look of old times mixed with modern safe and functional features.
I love the blend of old and new as well. And this is a prototype. As I understand, the finished product will be much tighter including stance
I like this guy but I kinda hate how he keeps referring to the outside as a Shelby GT500 when it is clearly a replication of Foose's Eleanor design from gone in 60 seconds, not an original Shelby GT500 look. Still, awesome car and I do love Eleanors and Shelby's.
Variation on the theme. He’s never trying to pass it off as a ‘67 Shelby. However you look at it I really like where he’s headed with this car and being able to replicate with some options.
they also fail to realize that Ford could never make this kind of design because they were sued over it... but regardless, its an awesome build.
You do know Shelby Designed the car from gone in 60 seconds? And they put their official stamp on it.
@@riityee what in the world are you talking about!? The car was designed and came out in 1964... The original "Gone in 60 Seconds" came out in 1974. Now, if you guys would do your homework it is NOT the car Denice Halick sued for, it's the NAME "Eleanor" in which her husband came up with. In which case she won. It had nothing to with the car but them using the name to sell 3 different models called "Eleanor". They used the name to make big money.
@@Nevoexpo They could make this design all day long as long as they do not name it Eleanor
SO GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE WEARING YOUR SEATBELT!
Best of both worlds! Incredible car. Nice catch again Shawn!
Thanks and I totally agree with you
Gone in 60 seconds was one of my favourite movies.
That's a gorgeous car. Great build!
This is the greatest thing I've ever seen! My favorite car with modern components!? You can't get any better
And they recently finished their 2nd customer car which is even better
@@AutotopiaLA that's incredible
Ahhh that car's melody could sing me to sleep every night. Awesome car. Thanks Shawn.
Glad you enjoyed it. Love the sound of the supercharger. So loud.
Beautiful beautiful build!!! im in love man!!! Classic looks with a modern soul!!!!
You got it!
That’s hell of a cool mustang. I just love fastbacks. And he’s done well to combine that with the newer model. Just insane
Knew you would like this one Ross!
Excellent show, Love Michael’s ride, well done!! 👍💯👍
Really cool to finally get to drive it!
Thanks for sharing that lovely sounding Shelby, I bet it’s a blast to drive with all the modern tech.
That supercharger sound ❤️
I know. It’s awesome!!
The concept is sound. A few things, I know it's a prototype, the centre line on the bonnet (hood) to the scuttle doesn't line up. The trimming around the stereo is nasty. Trim around boot (trunk) hinges looks half done. No speaker covers. $180k is still a lot of money. I would want the finishing to be a higher standard. Get the little things right and it will be a good
i am with you and tail lights are twisted, the car is not symmetrical at all, i get it it is difficult to put a 67 body on a modern chassis, the 67 has 3.5 inch shorter wheelbase and is 4 inch narrower. in short bodywork is awful, 11:44 it will leak rain trough the hinges
DAMN! Changed my mind from Love it to leave it
U can buy a 67 gt500 for 20k-35k and that extra 145k-160k U can mod it to make it comfortable and faster than any 2014 stand even the 2020 gt500
Regular Old Plumbus an original 67”/68” Shelby gt 500 costs around 130k :)
In my opinion this package is so great because you get to drive a 67 gt500 and enjoy it without worrying about devaluing.
Exactly and have more modern drivability which I prefer
Love restomoded cars, this one is beyond amazing, the brakes calipers..... Engine....everything was done just right.
If I could have one car right now. It would be this 😍🔥. Perfect, just perfect👌🏻
Awesome!!
I rreeeeaaallly want this car. 🤯🤯🤯🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥😋
We may Not agree on teams friend.. But I agree with you here!!...!!! - a Chiefs fan
Wow such a beautiful inside and out superb build quality, and man oh man does it perform! I love these type of restomods! Damn you shawn always havin all the fun hahah keep up the great content!
I know...pretty damn lucky!! Glad you liked it. Really cool car and Michael is a great guy.
Now this is how the GT500 should have looked. They should have kept the taillights of the 67' GT500. That's what made the car so much more unique than most Mustangs.
I’m with you. They should consider a retro car like this
Would love to see this guy do this with the underpinings of a brand new Mk5 Supra (when it's available) with an old Celica Supra body on top.
The “Eleanor” GT500 has been done to death. The mustang has so many great fender badges, I wish there were more Boss and Bullet renditions. I’m still surprised the aftermarket hasn’t offered their own “SVO”... As Ford seems unwilling to rebadge a 2.3 as such.
Am glad you got to drive this awesome street machine.
Me too. And he’s finishing one for a client that he wants me to drive as well. Can’t wait.
Very cool car... I met Michale awhile ago at the Malibu cars and coffee, and the car looks and sounds even better in person. Love it
He’s such a great guy and this car is badass!!
Nik Page I don't see how it could look better I can see all kind of Bodywork and screw-ups on the body just from a video. lol
T Tana I get it man, but it’s so hard to put something like this together. We have to give him credit, when credit is due, for what he was able to achieve! You gotta appreciate it for what it is! It’s a great build and it will only get better from here
I have falling in love with mustangs from the first time I saw the movie gone in 60seconds this one is beautiful luv what he did to it awesome
Such a great body style and having all the modern tech makes it a blast to drive.
I loved Mustangs, the first one I saw was in the film bullit... I'll never own one, and the UK version of the GT 500 has less power due to the steering being in the correct side, and choking the exhaust.. losing some power..
Me to from the film I seen when I was a young kid called lock up with Sylvester Stallone in it, that was me hooked on Mustangs for life 👌 the car is unique, I'd buy it all day long, only am skint lol
That's what I love to see
I have always loved the backdating concept on old cars!
I can totally dig it. Quality doesn’t come cheap. This is definitely something Ford should’ve built from the factory.
Ford should really do a reissue of this car modernized
*Gran Turismo Sport needs this!*
Damn that is a fine car.
You made my dream come true I always wanted to do that but no money ,thanks for building that beauty
They built an extremely cool car here for sure 👊
that intro walking around the car non stop be like
Horrible! This was early into us shooting and we didn’t have a clue yet!
I really wish that someone would take the 69 boss 302 front end and put it with the 67 gt500 rear end! Shelby did such a great job using the Mercury Cougar taillights on the 67 gt500. Why not put the prettiest front end you have ever seen on the prettiest rear end you have ever seen? If I ever get the money to blow that is what I'm doing! It seems like that should have happened already and it probably has but that would be my dream Mustang! With a 427 side oiler or a 428 police interceptor or Cobra Jet? I'm salivating!
This is gorgeous 😍 I wonder if they can do other vehicles? Make a proper delorean perhaps?
I’m sure they could but for now this is the car they’re building. He may venture into others down the road.
About time someone was smart enough to do this.
Ford should’ve thought of it. Crazy they don’t offer something like this.
My absolute dream car!!!! Once again you’ve done it!!! Please keep doing what you’re doing. I even watch your videos in which I don’t even like the car!
Wow this car is so amazing 😉 love it
And that’s just the prototype. The client/finished cars are cleaner in all details
Omg this is awesome!
Right?!!!
In terms of looks, this car is just perfect. I don't know any better looking car.
It is a great one and drives as good as it looks
Dream car!
Blended 1967 GT 500 by Mag looks Spectacular! ! !
Shawn she's a beautiful car you lucky dog driving something like that!
She is and yeah...I’m lucky!! I’ve been wanting to drive this for a couple of years now.
Everytime you down shift I just smiled inside
That’s awesome. I did too. Lots of smiles driving this car. And we were just cruising.
I really enjoy this Chanels content love the cars keep up the good work ....
Thank you! Lots more to come I promise.
mag motors =cool ass cars....great content as usual!!
Thanks and I totally agree with you on Mag Motors.
Oooooooooh Eleanor’s got some boost to her
Why don’t we just start getting old body styles with modern tech and engine in you see this kind of work
But it’s all
Custom very beautiful Shelby
Looks good, keep making them :)
Absolutely incredible. Just insanely astonished.
No question, beautiful job...but too much supercharger
Oh man, I love the whine of the blower. Love it!
Definitely should be a new class from Ford I really wish they'd bring back a gran torino or falcon that looks like a muscle car....this car could be called the elite mustang put a 351 in it and make it affordable.
Jason Wells would be very cool
I don't do comments or even social media in general but this right here I would buy
I’m with you...and this is only the prototype! The finished car is much cleaner on fit & finish
Wow I'm impressed. Well done
That Mustang will draw a crown any where in the world.👍
Anyone else get dizzy?
Louis Anguiano I’ve heard it from a few people. Sorry about that. Only the beginning at least. Don’t know why I walked around so much. Hope you recovered 😂
Love it man!! Damn that's what I'm looking for!
Headlights are not to my taste but I have to say, you've done an amazing job with the side skirts! They normally look far too chunky when this conversion is done, but this simply looks stunning and well in proportion. Love it.
Overall he nailed it on this re-creation
Stfu
Crazy fact: Nissan has done the same with their trucks........ but nothing new
4 fg b cwi6 5i o.o MB
I ojhyojfg. M
It’s too well behaved for my taste
I like the sounds and smells of an old carb engine, the idle of the cam
The suspension improvements are pretty desirable though
660 hp... and it lost 400lb... and you think that car is tame?
Tbh yesss buuuutt we could cam it 😎
DJ you can always upgrade and get that dope ass idle. I feel you though. That was my only hold up but everything else is A1
Never heard a GT500 of any year be described as "well behaved" or "tame" 😂
My 2014 is the least well behaved or tame car I've ever owned or driven 🙃
The car looks good, classic muscle car look with modern suspension/brakes and 600+ hp! What else can you ask for? Good job guys!
Agreed!!
@@AutotopiaLA , appreciate these good videos from us car guys. Thank you!
awoke one thanks. I really appreciate it.
Absolutely amazing car. I have some issues with the interior but still an amazing project.
Magnifique 😍😍😍😍😍
Un fr par ici XD
Sexy car. Still would prefer the vintage interior of the original tho.
I get it on the interior. This is a prototype so it’s still a bit rough around the edges but a killer car.
Not one gone in 60 seconds reference haha. Badass car
Nah. It’s not Eleanor although there are a lot of similarities
I love this concept!!
I'm very excited about this car!
How do I buy one?
Contact Mag Motors. His info is in the description
$180K for this? I kinda thought so.
The '67 500 has been my dream car, ever since I was a kid, thanks to the movie "gone in 60 seconds", but THIS car....omg. Whoever owns this car, I'm completely jealous, and I'm not the jealous type. I guess I'm stuck with my '98 Nissan Sentra lol a whole whopping 100hp, 0-60 in 15 seconds lol
😂😂 love this comment. It’s such a badass car and out of my range as well.
I would love to own this! One day baby!! *ONE DAY!!*
Amazing car but the fit and finish is nowhere near that of OEM or ICON products.
This cars needs side exit exhaust 😩
Monster would be cool
it is custom made, you can have it on yours, if you want that.
That's what I would want over an ordered Elenor. Good job 👏 Mike of Mag Motors. Steve McQueen would have loved to drive that baby. Thx for the video Shawn.
I’m with you. This brings all the modern with the old look. Perfect combo for me.
OMG thats amazing Carlos. I love Mustang
