Thanks for the sub! You definitely can with the Kelly controller, but I do not have experience in that specifically. I wanted a really raw build, so I only wanted the throttle regulation
Three questions if you don’t mind... Have you had any issues with the chain and flywheel on this amount of power? I’ve heard some people say the flywheels snap from the torque and had to get them welded. I’ve also snapped the chain twice on my bike (before I upgraded to a 25H chain) and completely destroyed the chain tensioner from the increased speed. (My mx500 is currently running 60v 2Kw with 3.6Kw peak (60v x 60a), yours is running a 72v 3Kw with a 9.36Kw peak (72v x 130a)) Any reason you didn’t go for a sine wave controller like the kls-s controllers? My motor tends to get too hot to touch after about 20 mins of fast riding, but I’m running SLA’s with bad voltage sag which heats it up faster
I’m in the process using the same motor/controller as this guy and I’m sure I’m going to need a similar 25H setup if you want to share what parts you have on your bike
@@trahar6257 25h chains fit 25 sprockets so it’s a direct replacement. The 25h chains are only supposed to have a higher strength rating and I haven’t had a problem since
Yes, the stock flywheel is weak, and should probably be replaced firstly. There’s a guy on here named Tim A. And he has a video about a solid upgrade. I wouldn’t weld it because I like the smooth coasting. I haven’t had issues yet though. As for the sinewave controller, it’s better for hub motors, so it really doesn’t make that big of a difference with this mid drive setup (like you said, most noise comes from chain and tensioner). Motor temp does go up, but honestly nothing to worry about. You could drill out the preexisting holes in the motor to a larger diameter to increase air flow, but it’s not terrible.
@@AllThingsElectric_ I looked at the flywheel upgrade, def gonna do that if my flywheel snaps. For now I'll just leave it as is cause I also do like the coasting without spinning the motor. I also read on endless sphere that it's suggested to put a rubber tube over the bearings of the chain tensioner to make it quieter which could be something to look into (I'd have to find that thread again though to see exactly what it was). Thanks for the info though, I'm considering doing an upgrade like this but with either li-ion or lifepo4 (cause I don't have the balls to make the jump to lipos yet haha)

The MX650 and MX500 are the same exactly but differ in motor wattage. The SX500 is smaller than those two. The RSF650 is about the same size as the MX bikes but in a street style. You could probably fit on these bikes at 5'8".

Looks like it rips
What all do you need for something like this? Just batteries controller and motor? Or what else
Batteries, controller, motor, throttle, voltage meter, a lot of patience
So to upgrade it i have to switch the battery, motor and controller thats all right
Yep!
Great build. Hope to do it in the future. The rear shock is also very nice, what shock is it?
It’s an 8 inch pit bike shock
It was in the bike before I got it, I believe it’s off ebay
ive got some seats for that 914 and a dash
Does the dash have any cracks in it? And how much for it?
@@AllThingsElectric_ its an after market one never installed ill go pull it down and check it out is the seat in it a bench style?
What do you recommend for a Adult 5'8" 170lbs?
And whats the difference between the RSF650 AND MX650, SX500?
I'm looking to buy and not sure because the mx is 100 dollars cheaper.
What ever I buy I will be Modding
The MX650 and MX500 are the same exactly but differ in motor wattage. The SX500 is smaller than those two. The RSF650 is about the same size as the MX bikes but in a street style. You could probably fit on these bikes at 5'8".
Did you have to program the controller before using it? I ordered one after watching your video.
What kind of range are you getting with that battery?
Haven’t fully tested range but I edit image around 25-30 miles of riding moderately hard.
Hello, nice video.
Relation of sprockets? Thanks
Front is stock razor, so I believe 14. Rear was stock also, which I think was 81 but now I have a much smaller one.
Is the description links everything you need to build it?
Yes sir
Did you need to do any programming of the Kelly controller before you started riding?
yes, there are some videos out there on how to program.
How did you make the triple series connector for the batteries?
Apply the principal of a normal series connector to 3 wires, positive to negative, positive to negative
Can you please give me the link to the key start thing? I want it for my mx650 cause I am going to ride it around my town and I don’t want people to steal it.
It was part of the throttle. Look up electric throttle on Amazon.
You need a BMS . real easy to wire in . otherwise a nice job.
I will def look into installing one.
I'm going to do this for my 6-year-old
What mic are you using sounds good 👌
Just the GoPro Hero 9 black mic. Decent in built microphone. Thanks!
@@AllThingsElectric_ damn it handles wind noise no problem thanks man 👌
What rpm is that motor sounds wicked I'm looking to upgrade my maf scooter
Lol, how muck for the blue VW? ; )
is two of the batteries 48v?
Hello I just finished building my mx650 and my front sprocket is jumping the chain. It's a brand new sprocket and chain. I can't find anything on yt about it. Please help a guy out👍👍.
do you have your chain tensioner installed?
@@AllThingsElectric_ Yes. ruclips.net/video/tp9bSXmA2OY/видео.html
Hey how did you fix the throttle :') please help.
interested also
I replaced the hall sensor within the throttle. This is the device that detects where the throttle position is and tells the controller how much power to give. I recommend never using this type of throttle however.
Did you have to change the 25h chain to t8f to fit your new motors sprocket?
No, I left the stock chain. If you see my chain lengthening video, I use the same one. I changed the motor sprocket.
@@AllThingsElectric_ thanks for the vid. I'm changing the motor on the rs650. Pain in the ass getting the chain on and new motor on at the same time. At least I know now it's possible
What kinda of cash are we talking to make this upgrade. Considering it for my Sx500
It depends on the type of power you're looking for. For an adult riding it, it's going to run somewhere around $1500 for everything.
What is the battery range on this? You must get some Loooooong ride times?
Would these batteries work on a 72v 5000w watt motor?
Yes absolutely!
Which charger are you using for the batteries?
Thanks for replies.
I use this charger with a large power supply and balance board - hobbyking.com/en_us/smart-charger-500w.html
I got 500 bucks. Can I buy a complete used kit for a Sx500 from you, please?
How long did it take you to get your Kelley controller? Ships from China? Thanks
I believe about a week
@@AllThingsElectric_ ordering one. Thanks and enjoyed your video. How’s bike holding up? Planing similar build after I finish my scooter build
Doing great man! Definitely need a fan or better cooling on my controller and motor. They get very hot.
Why cant i get a mx 500 or 650 in belguim
