Spongebob episodes be hella goofy most of the time and then out of nowhere, you are hit with the most diabolical, horrifying and bone chilling freeze frame ever for no reason😭🙏
74 balls and no cock lemme fix that
Frr
after paul tibbit took over, yeah.
Ong 😭
And that damn horsefly, I don't ever remember getting scared by Spongebob, but that? I used to hide behind the sofa because it grossed me out
Nothing could ever top “Wormy” jumpscare in Spongebob
I’m surprised he didn’t bring it up
Id say the butterfly closeup jumpscare episode is worse
@@_RGR_ Im literally about the same episode? 😭
That started my fear of butterflies which later escalated into severe Entomophobia...
@@tonimauge3907 from spongebob is fucking crazy
Flapjack and Courage were probably two of the shows that molded my love for horror type content because I remember liking these shows and not being phased by any of the weird creepy characters/scenes at all
Nothing will traumatize me more than that one scene from courage the cowardly dog when that ghost appeared 😭 shit still scares me to this day
Crazy

You can blame John k (the creator of Ren and Stimpy) for gross-out frames in cartoons ,they are the most nasty disgusting frames ever and he basically is the one that started the trend. the show in general has a plethora of nastiness and john k is DEFINITELY the type of person to visit Epstein's Island.😖😖
He's also the originator of that whole "CalArts style" thing that people kept complaining about around 2015-16, even though the whole notion was nonsense
The "CalArts" style in my opinion is kinda ridiculous, all cartoons have unique art styles and the creator of shows like gumball and Steven universe were not even alumni of said school.
Thank him for traumatizing us
Now that some of the documents of Epstein Island have been released, I won’t be surprised at all if John’s on the list because that guy’s been an obvious pedo since day 1 looking back.
I NEVER knew Boobah was a spin-off to Teletubbies. It explains SO MUCH, yet I never put the dots together or looked into it further.
I didn’t know what this show was until I saw a GoAnimate video about an OS of these 5 colourful characters.
Bro same here! I almost watched boobah more than teletubbies as a kid bc my uncle had the tapes for it and all I can’t remember now is it feeling like “Drug Trip: the show”
As a kid I found these unsettling, but never scary
Same!
I remember getting traumatized by the hash slinging slasher episode of the guy flickering the lights at the end of the episode because it looked like something that came out of a 70s horror show, but as for teletubbies there's a theory that states that the sun baby is actually a demon watching over them making sure they're obedient, there was supposed to be a teletubbie that was blue but for some reason was scrapped and turned into nono
Ah fuck man now you reminded me of that nightmarefuel Meatcanyon teletubie video
Oh, Nasferatu!
@@PhysicallyDetarded:)
Whats that?@@filipbabic4913
The hash slinging slasher guy traumatized me too, his name is nosferatu and the frames are from a 100 year old horror movie
looking back at old shows and wondering why we watched it because it is so disturbing is an excellent point of ignorance… as kids we dont know much, therefore disturbing things arent disturbing, as we get older and experience more, things that are disturbing become disturbing because they are so outlandish
The trauma of these shows is probably related to their surrealism. Show like Regular Show, Chowder, Flapjack and more are very surreal in their humor. While not a kids show, Xavier: Renegade Angel is very surreal and probably didn't start until 2007.
Ambatukam OOOOOŒEEEEUGH MY GODD
My little pony
The Fandom was insane it was a mix of grown men and little girls
@InevitableOption-ic2vxThe episode that Finn wished Prismo to start another timeline. the episode was quite dark for adventure time. Let alone early adventure time.
@@mexicancandytastegood2716I didn't watch my little pony. But I've seen some things those adult male fans made. Super fucked up
Bro Ren and Stimpy are the pioneers of this stuff
Spongebob had so many weird episodes i’m still haunted by squidwards toe nail getting squashed or the gorilla episode 😓
That gorilla episode is a video in itself. Everything about it was just so odd and surreal
the toe nail one still creeps me out, the bone was a horrible detail to add
@@Coolguy_445Yeah that scene was so unnecessarily gruesome.
The zoom in on Wormy always scared me as a kid
Everyone talks about the toenail one but nobody talks about that one where squidward pulls out his skin trying to remove and eyebrow
The worst one is where Squidward loses a toenail that’s still so painful to see
Wierdly enough, some of these creepy episode actually helped to teach me that not all good guys are cute/pretty/handsome and not all bad guys are ugly/creepy
The purple tree and the cat with the white mask from courage the cowardly dog are prime examples of that
Oddly enough, I used to love Barney. It was meeting a mascot suit of him irl that made me terrified of him from that day on 🤣
I went to Preschool excited to see him at the little graduation party and came home throwing all my Barney DVDs in the bin and crying anytime I woke up with the Barney plushie on my nightstand (screw you mom).
I think I still have it and the DVDs somewhere in storage.
8:20 ngl that vacuum robot scared the sh*t out of me as a kid
Me too 😂
i really felt that intro
i still remember those horrific spongebob freeze frames
When I was in elementary school, I was watching adventure time on my TV and was watching the episode when fin lost his arm.
After the episode finished, I felt horrible for Finn, because not only did he got his arm ripped off. He also got abandoned by his dad again.
To this very day I still feel horrible for characters that went through similar situations like fin, unless they’re bad guys, of course.
Was this in 2014 or 2015?
@@okjeffy6581 I believe it was mid 2015.
LSP in breezy is pretty bad too
The one that lsp sexually assaults finn in his sleep is pretty traumatizing too
@@maddoxomatta8712 the purple cloud guy?
I remember the Lady & Peebles episode from Adventure Time scaring me as a kid, with the inside of the mountain looking like the inside of a body, Ricardio's face being half visible in the darkness, all those hands and eyes, and the thought of Ice King's tissue being removed and his bones being broken apart.
As the playground slide, I can confirm that I cause trauma to children
As a child that got injured on a playground slide and had to go to the dentist, can confirm
There is this one episode of spongebob that scared the crap out of me as a kid. It’s where everyone in bikini bottom leaves for a week and leaves spongebob all by himself. Sponge bob slowly goes insane and makes a meat puppet Patrick out of krabby Patties and falls in love with a fucking car that then turns on him and tries to kill him. Psysological horror type shit
I grew up in the late 2000s and 2010s; my cartoon taste buds were extremely picky, I basically only watched Spongebob. However, I was traumatized by the Procrastination episode. For some reason, I got scarred seeing Spongebob’s bad dream, particularly when Spongebob’s house got set on fire.
YO I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE ON THAT. "Time's up spongebob" fucked me up
@@VesperHP "only 799 words to go *evil laugh*" fucked me up.
9:11 and this is how I knew he was truly a real one
Courage the cowardly dog is a literal show made to give children PTSD.
Aa Childhood show that also was absolutly terrifying was Gravity Falls... It had moments like bill saying his couch is made out of human skin or the face of pacificas dad being transformed so he has ears as eyes, a mouth as ears and an eye as a mouth
@@Snake3417 same but if you put it against other childhood cartoons it was pretty dark
Honorable mention: Where the wild things are (2009)
I was 8 yrs old when I saw that and I had nightmares for weeks. Even to this day as a grown man I still get chills just looking at those things. It's not just the looks of them It's the behavior too especially when the main monster went ape shit and ripped off the bird guy's arm. Nightmare fuel
I also wanna bring up how the SpongeBob end credits use liminal sound to give that unsettling feeling after each episode. Kids shows were wacky
5:10 That cat...that damn cat. I was watching that episode on vacation and it gave me nightmares for a solid month.
I know people who were traumatized by that one ending of Vicky the Viking, where it looked like the Vikings were about to be horribly killed by spikes. The people who look back at this in terror are the ones who had to wait a whole week to find out if the Vikings literally died right then and there or not
One scene from SpongeBob that I now find kinda creepy is the "ALOOOOOONE" scene from SB-129. As a kid, it used to make me laugh, but now it's just unsettling
The one episode from a cartoon that still scares me to this day is "The Puppetmaster" episode from Avatar: the last airbender, the ending always scared me, and I was always curious of how the old lady killed the people she trapped in the mountain
The woman that could control blood? I liked the crisis she gave Katara
9:01 purple one is grimace fr
I remember one time in like 8th grade I had a substitute teacher that gave us the option to watch a video about us history or Boohbah, we all picked Boohbah out of curiosity because nobody knew what it was, I was actually laughing so hard and losing my crap because of how much of a literal trip it was
6:07 These edibles ain't shi-
I was raised while Teletubbies was on tv, they didnt scare me surprisingly, I go to chuckie cheese when i was a kid and my favorite ride was Teletubby clock chair ride.
I think one of the only SpongeBob episodes that sticks with to this day is Squidward in the Time Machine. When he was trapped in a white void I genuinely sat with myself for a moment and asked myself wtf is going on?
As a kid when i watched the cowardly dog cartoon it always made me depressed (because of the atmosphere, the poor dog and granny and the post apocalyptic world they were) angry because of the old man. Always felt like not watching it but i had nothing else to do and it was entertaining(don't remember much from the show but i do remembered the ghost face)
literally thats what im saying it has the creepiest hopelessness atmosphere that gives me the worst vibe
1:20
I love how you used the exact same scream that was used for that close-up.
The Flapjack sound was better
The one that still haunts me is the episode of SpongeBob where squidwards toenail gets ripped off by the couch
Thank you for not mentioning the Teenage Gary episode. That episode I avoid like the plague to this day. Also, there was this episode of Generator Rex called Frostbite, and it freaking traumatized me as a kid. It wasn't as bad as the Teenage Gary episode, but it was still painful to watch years late
Personally the harsh slinging slasher episode is what really got me and was first introduction to horror. I didn't understood what was going on at the time but I felt The sense of dread and anxiety. The nosfuratue part is what really pushed me over the edge had me screaming WTF is that?
Nosferatu is still scaring people (myself included) after 100 years 😭
Ren 'n' Stimpy started this !they have the best hyperrealistic "still frames" . Anyways I love them . Maybe its just me but the more the better lmao . It was so shocking but good atst
7:26 got me dying on the floor
I can never forget the infamous butterfly closeup. That spongebob episode had no reason to do that.
For me the most traumatic moment from a cartoon is when Tom from Tom and jerry got blown up and in the most scariest and deep way he said “don’t u believe it”. That shi gave me nightmares 😭😭
10:26 it gets worse when you realize that he was actually alive the whole time, so they gave him concussions and then *_BURIED THIS NIGGA ALIVE_*
I was so traumatized from the lion episode from teletubbies that its still so creepy for me to this day, the way his eyes glow and how he stares into your soul 😭 i wasnt the only one who was scared of it since it got banned
See, for me, a lot of these moments didn't actually scare me. I'm thinking it's because I'm on the autism spectrum; the uncanny valley doesn't kick in for me the same way it does for a lot of other people: rather than be disturbed by human/humanoid creatures with off-looking faces and behaviors, I was disturbed by non-human/humanoid entities with human-like/living characteristics.
I.e. I wasn't disturbed by the weird fetus thing from Courage's dream, but I was disturbed by King Rameses' ghost (he must have looked less human to me than the fetus). I wasn't disturbed by the Teletubbies or Boobah's, but I was disturbed by the Monster House (houses shouldn't be alive, have a heartbeat, and breathe) and the animatronics from FNAF (same about living and breathing).
For me it was definitly the freeze frame of the butterfly in that one spongebob episode about a butterfly
It was so jarring to me as a kid to see such a detailed close up of those freaky insects
OML THE NOSFERATU HAD ME NOT SLEEPING FOR WEEKS
That squidward nose freeze frame was haunting ngl
Bro that scene from cat dog or whatever its called where the dog crawled inside the cat to brush the cats teeth WAS CRAZYY
The close up of the gorilla will always scare me
I watched SpongeBob almost every day as a kid. I ain't gonna lie, I thought the freezeframes were more funny than they were creepy. But Courage was scary as shit. That uncanny CGI was terrifying af.
Idk why but the SpongeBob episode that randomly showed a real ass butterfly (if I remember) scared me as a kid
Wormy?
Those dark sets on the classic thomas show with models, the fog, sparks, dark colors, the gritty industrial sets. One good example is the scene in the movie where james is chased into a scrapyard by diesel 10 and there's this intimidating red hue and sparks flying with hanging wires, and james is pushed closer to the end of the track before junior uses his last emergancy gold dust to teleport them both away, that stuff was intense. I miss that thomas, even the cgi series was better than what we have now, which is GARBAGE!
Like flapjack actually gave me nightmares as a kid shit was crazy
I can’t be the only one that got scarred by the butterfly closeup in SpongeBob right
Y'all remember that pingu episode, where giant sea lion was playing with pingu, but luckily it was just a dream.😭😭💀💀💀
The scariest moment of Courage the Cowardly Dog for me (at the time) was in the episode where Courage was running up the stairs in Catz Hotel opening doors. In one of the rooms was a little claymation girl with her back turned to the door while playing the voilin. Her head turned 180 degrees, and screamed with a horrifying grimace and crooked teeth
Something that’s really traumatized me is a psa by a small group called SIRE that was a firework psa. It was a psa with a red screen mostly, that had a person with no hands do sign language, or do countdowns, it was fucked up.
Flapjack was the most cursed shit ever, it's like they hired horror manga artist to do those frames. The cat episode still scares me and I'm 23.
7:00 Teletubbies WAS THE FUDGING BOMB I loved that show soooo much and I always wanted to eat the food that they were eating and I loved Barney to I used to have a Barney tow that would sing and dance I really loved those times lol kinda sad to see that so many people hated those shows lol
The thing that scared me the most in spongebob was from the intro in Truth or Square. More specifically, the pirate puppet at the beginning
Im surprised you didn't add invader zim, especially the dark harvest episode💀
7:12 the freaking baby sun used to jumpscare me more than the fnaf 4 animictronics
7:51 peter crouch😂
The ones that got me so bad when i was younger was the cat from flap jack, muscle man being skinned alive and, your not perfect from courage
crazy how he didn’t even mention SB-129. shit was wild
The SpongeBob episode where a gorilla came out scared tf out of me
same
It didnt do that to me. I just had fun
Am i the only one who would get horrified of the faces they be making in the amazing world of gumball
10:55 don’t forget the ep where The security system TAKES CONTROL OF SQUIDWARD'S HOUSE and begins ATTACKING THE CITY!!! Bro that scared the flip outta me man
When I was younger, watching the SpongeBob Intro really scared me especially when he’s in the bathtub, I would cry and yell instantly
Why did I laugh at this 😭
[7:13] im the guy u looking for, i had no bad memories watching teletubbies, great time watching it.
Same
wait i asked my mom if i watched teletubbies when i was a kid and she said no.
i have memories watching that show.. what?

2:28 I feel like what makes the SpongeBob image worse is the idea that if you look at his eyes in the scene, you’ll notice that the parts of his eyes that are covered by his eye lids are like pushing out, which implies his eyes are much bigger under there.
The reason why that makes it so much worse is because you can just imagine an alternative version of this gross out image of SpongeBob, where his eyes were probably much bigger and bloodshot with the small pupils which, for some reason, makes it much more terrifying to think about.
It also kind of makes it seem like that originally his eyes were gonna be bigger, but they thought they looked too scary so they made them smaller but either way they’re kind of creepy, but I feel like if his eyes were bigger it would’ve been much worse.
That songebob episode with those creepy alien fishes he was talking about, while watching it i was just wishing he would somehow return home and the episode would finally end, like it felt longer than it should!
I suppose I’ll be the first to say that me and my siblings loved tellitubbies. We had the vhs tapes, the toys, we loved it. I have so many good memories of the show. It’s honestly cottage core goals.
To this day, I still don’t understand the gorilla episode in SpongeBob
Interesting. I never found the Teletubbies to be creepy as a kid.
The gorilla episode from SpongeBob genuinely creeped me out when I was younger especially at night
Back in the day when I was 2, I watched teletubbies. My mom said I loved it as a kid and said I owned a toy. I don't remember anything before 6 years old so take this info as it is.
Flapjack scared the shit outta me when I was younger.
In Austria and germany, when the kids channel named “Kika” wasn’t sending they played Bernd das Brot which still is stuck in my head for how fucking creepy shit was.
3:10 CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER
I don’t care how unsettling those SpongeBob frames were. Star The Clone Wars Wars had war crimes, insect zombies, witches, and a prison break where a guy gets cut in half.
Tommy is the core of my childhood trauma 😭

Fun fact, SpongeBob put Suicide Squidward on one of their episodes, they removed it but it was a episode when spongebob and squidward explore some weird ass world
Bro I remember having a nightmare as a kid of a cartoon and I could never remember the show but it was FUCKING BOOHBAH!!! So much for being the family friendly spin off, that shit gave me an actual nightmare.
I remember watching the Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack as a kid but, I have literally no memory of anything in the show.
I think I have repressed memories of the show.
3:21 CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER
The hot sauce one from SpongeBob was horrifying
When I was in 2nd grade I just witnessed the most terrifying courage the cowardly dog show episode ever with the ghost mummy that 3d shit looked so scary for me back then that I couldnt sleep for a week
When the x-files Remake came out in something 2015-ish there was even an entire episode about how creepy the teletubbies were and that they were child-abducting demons
Sb-129 is by far the most confusing and horrifying episodes of spongebob for no apparent reason
I’m so glad you mentioned Boohbahs bc jesus christ I was fucking terrified of those as a kid. People seem to forget about them for some reason 🤷♀️
this should've been titled "wanna remember your deepest childhood fears?"
Spongebob definitely had its fair share of creepy things. And I don't know why my mom, RIP, ever let me watch Teletubbies at 3 years old. They're hella disturbing now that I'm seeing them over 24 years later.
i found clifford puppy days kind of dark as a kid when i found out the bunny character died been a fan of clifford the big red dog on pbs kids for years and sometimes it dose deal with dark topics
tommy really out here making my day bruh
A freeze frame trauma I seen was when they zoomed in on Patrick's belly button and there was coins, a bobby pin, and white things in it still haunt me till this day and i hate belly buttons 😭
My name is Craig Tucker. Last week was my birthday, my grandma gave me a check for 100 dollars. I was so happy. But then, 4 kids from my school came to my house, and said I should use my 100 dollars to invest in becoming a Peruvian flute band. they promised I would double my money in one afternoon. But the government arrested us, along with all the other Peruvian flute bands, and took us to an internment camp in Miami. We begged to go home, but instead the government told us they were sending us to Peru. And so that is why I'm now in Peru. if I die let it be known it is because of 4 guys I don't even like from my school lied to me and took my birthday money.
