Great Job!. I followed recipe exact. i catch fish every singke time. Stays on the circle hook during cast. Stores well preserved in a plastic container in the fridge. i have caught several catfish and carp with yhis bait. It is all I use and it is not messy. Thanks a bunch.
Absolutely. As stated before. after the initial refrigeration, I made all of the doughballs and placed them in a sealable container, like that liver container. Now, I just reach into the fridge, grab it and go. It does not give off any foul odor, so it is all good as far as the fridge goes. It was easy to make.
very good video and info. one trick ive used for years(decades) if the dough is too soft or runny i wrap it in a piece of brown paper bag or paper towel/napkin. that stuff is"bio degradable" and acts like reinforcing rod in concrete. ive also just took strips of the paper bag and mushed it in the dough on those hot days were it gets too mushy. ive used menhadden oil, fish oil(trapping supply houses if you dont want to make your own) juice off all kinds of canned seafood(oyster does work good), Mushed up canned jack mackeral works good in it too.
You know what got us hooked up.with some bigger cats? Brisket or ribs. Smoked. Cut a a section off b4 fully smoked, when it is still tough enough to stay on a circle hook. This meat get them to just grab n go.
Here is the recipe : 2 cups of flour(all purpose), 1 box of Mac'n cheese (just the cheese powder) any brand, 1/4 cup of oyster flavoring sauce(usually in the asian isle) and 1/4 cup water or enough until doughy texture is achieved. If it's too runny add flour. Stir, then knead it until it forms into a ball. Let it rest in the fridge for a few hours until chilled and firm.
Just a tip, try bread flour, not AP flour, Bread flour is about 14% gluten with higher protein, makes it stronger. AP is around 12% We do something along the same line as you do but add some ground fermented corn.
Biggest we caught so far is is a 15lber! We have tried other ingredients yet always resort back to this mix when we realllly want to catch cats. Small portions works awesome on bluegill too. We have even caught the occasional bass.
Great video used the bait last year on a spring feed clear river in Missouri caught monster carp no catfish yet love very easy to make your own dough bait
@@yanceylott9843 it really depends on how you made it when I first made it I made it too soft 15 minutes max after I got a hang of it 40 minutes max it melts so the fish can smell it
so you're saying if I use cheese powder little bit of water oyster sauce maybe sardines if I can't find the sauce oh yeah I can't forget about the all-purpose flour. Thank you I plan on using your recipe the next time we go Fishin I sure hope this works I'm tired of wasting money on live bait we usually buy chicken liver shrimp hard shell crawfish sometimes I soak chicken breast in strawberry Kool-Aid mostly a lot of nightcrawlers we go through so Mini and we use small bluegill or minners I've never really used dough bait I've heard a lot of people talk about it so I guess this year will give it a try at these pay lakes we don't do too good in the lake or the Rivers but thanks man for this recipe I'll subscribe if you come up with any new fishing tips please Fill Me In.
Hey i got one you should try buy some cheap pizza dough kit let it over ferment till it has a strong alcohol smell , and will end up thick dense dough .It is very cheap to make and works great . ;) Give it a shot tell me what ya think . the kits are usually 60 cents per kit two is plenty .
Ran a batch tonight but was missing the cheese powder and tried adding some garlic. Thanks for the vid! The local store was outta chicken liver so was able to slap this together last minute for tomorrows fishing trip.
What can I use if I have no oyster sauce?? Also have u tried using parmesan cheese?? Parmesan cheese does have a bit more of a smell to it but it's the oyster sauce that does it along with the cheese I was thinking I could use sardine juice/ oil that the sardines sit in Need help lol. I want too try but need a subsatution for the oyster sauce since its just a little bit. That u add anyways Thanks. Good video.
Made 3 batches tonight. One with oyster sauce, one with red boat fish sauce and one with Thai kitchen fish sauce. The fish sauce smells awful. The oyster sauce didn't really have a smell. Going to try them on noodle floats. I will try mixing the oyster sauce with the fish sauce after I determine which performs better.
Hey I'm doing a survey asking 100-500 people if they would sell their homemade baits and lures on my website? There's only one fee and that is 15% commission off every item you sell.
yeah, that would work wonders on the juveniles.want those big cats tho, live bait fish is the only way to go.that or cut bait, but they seem to prefer live bait.

You can also buy the cheese powder by itself on Amazon
so close to my dough bait. 1 cup flour , 1 cup fine corn meal and the juice of 1 small can of tuna in oil. a little water.
Oyster sauce?
I made it and tested it last Tuesday. I caught 4 channel cats in about 1 hour 30 mins. It works alright.
Has anyone tried this with fish sauce instead of oyster sauce?
I think i would work the same either way
Anybody tried this adding a few chicken livers run through a blender and added instead of the water? The liver container has me wondering.
Imma do a vid on it
