Yep, he burned off the rest of the power for that useless climb, he also increased distance to home, and then he made the landing with the camera facing forward, not down. He had 350meters distance and 60m altitude with 40s of fly time, easy to come home and land. Specially cause that dron will fly about 2minutes after get 0s range. Next thing, a few kilometers before reaching home, he was already expecting that there wouldn’t be enough battery. In that case, he should immediately shut off the sensors to save power. After all, he doesn’t need a collision sensor when flying just 100 meters above the ground.
That was fun to watch. Just got a mini 4 pro. I don't think I'll try that distance though. lol.... I'm still afraid to take it further than my back yard! :)
pilot made a mistake on a way to home he should choose a normal glideslope and decent gradually it would saved an energy and time instead he did fly to homepoint at 130m altitude and then decent with his action he lost few more seconds and also battery juice
Near same with me but I was ten times more stupid. I was flying my mavic 3 when I got a low battery at 3 miles away 15%!!! I never check the battery. I don't move it and go slowly ascend to 1000 meters max altitude and cruse above the clouds back home. I eventually got auto power off protection mode still at 1000 meters but I was 2000 meters out. I brought it to 300 meters away when it stopped moving but it still was going down. I regained controll and very slowly brought it back. I finally got it to 100m away when I lost control over it again. It was at 409 meters. I never regained control when I see the drone camera tumbling and the signal drops bars quick. It shut off parts of it to prepare for landing I think because the camera went black and eventually it hit my car out of all cars parked a little bit away. The drone had 3 out of four arms broken and the gimbal was found on my cars seat. The drone wouldn't turn on at all just when I plug it in the battery blinks white on one dot and shuts off for a few seconds. Left it overnight and it wouldn't power up at all. Learn from my mistakes.
Not true. Pilot should climb to the max height (500m) by the 10km mark. Its common on DJI drones what when the battery is below 10%, it starts autolanding, so if you have a 100m higher fl lvl, it will take longer for the drone to descent, therefore gaining additional travel distance on the way back.
O it is not o that drone lend itself below 10% battery it drains till the zero, and if you climb on such situation you will lose more energy then stay they height where you are and. Return to home , drone is not fixed wing airplane that discern it by gliding it is. Rotorcraft and. Gaining height does not helps it.
Safety is always the rule number ONE while flying. Such a test with great uncertainty under such a crowded neighborhood is very irresponsible behavior. You're lucky that your drone did not cause any harm to people or damage to objects in the end. Please go to open field for your next test in the future. The environment is not so friendly to fly drones in Taiwan cause people like you, please do not make it worse. Thank you!
I don’t understand how it was possible for you to do that. I have the same exact drone with the same exact battery and I’m lucky if I could get a mile and a half out is there something that I don’t know about?
are you flying with a lot of wifi/cellphone interference around you? Also how high were you flying? Make sure the controller has a clear line of sight to the drone.
mistakes done in this video -the range test should be done either on top of a tall area like a mountain or in a flatland, but definitely not in a city. -ascending drains the most battery -you shouldn't have ascended during the landing but slowly descend to save more battery and speed, like an airplane -dont take off from hazardous spaces like those because landing will be a challenge and you drain extra battery just to precisely get back. -dont fly over 120 m above ground level but assuming those tests need higher altitudes for more signal at least have it in mind. -a rule of thumb is once the battery reaches 50% is to return back, sometimes when its a bit higher.
At the price point of the mini 4, I don't understand the need to risk losing it by distance flying. I fail to see the point why so many drone owners have a need to duplicate what others have done. ???
Instead of getting the drone back to our location in the instance of battery drain...just land it somewhere safe on your neighbours terrace or something like dat where you can be sure no one will touch your drone.....just go to the location...ask excuse n retrieve your drone... better than crashing!!!!
This happened to me with my Mini 2. It landed in a forest and I had to walk 2 kilometres to get the drone. I used the "Find my drone" feature to locate the Mini 2.
I disabled the forced landing feature on my Mini 2 SE by tweaking it's parameters. I also did a modification on the RC buzzer to reduce it's annoying sound by 99 percent.
@@walker-snow I was able to do the software one but couldn't modify the RC properly- I like the beeping just hate the warning that plays when its almost dead
@@ceskdu search "dh-win dji" for param mod. Buzzer thing is done by opening the RC case and breaking the buzzer body and removing the metal sheet inside it.

Not sure I understand the last minute climb to way higher than it needed to be. Big power drain. Maybe some panic set in at the end.

It's a wonderful movie. He was very excited. I congratulate you on your sharing and courage.
👏👏👏
Wow you had that drone way out there over the mountains thanks for the video
Wow what a great video my friend and beautiful place❤❤❤ New subscriber from the philippines👃👃👃
The point was to achieve the 10 kms and it shows how accurate the Ocusync is. Good flight and test. Glad you got it back in time :)
Excellent distance!
Were you able to recover the drone?
thk's for watch, the drone was fine for fly.
The thing is you are giving altitude and other inputs. It's going to eat more battery ... on the way back you are going against :D
This is a thrill drone video i ever seen😊
What thrill?

Ooh dear.. This happened to me while I was flying my mini 3 pro in montenegro. But I recovered it by climbing massive rock 😂😂😂
This was a thriller
Thank you

Great video, maybe don't use the recording feature on the drone but only screen record next time for longer flight time
Son baterias plus dji ??????👀
If you find yourself short on time on return to home, you can always boost the speed on sport mode to get it back to you quicker
The suspense at the end though
I didn't understand why did you climb on last minute

😮
Was this the normal battery?
95% no in my oppinion. when flying at the beggining the controller said 34minutes flytime while full throttle. unreal with normal battery
Why fly at the ceiling where the wind is the worst
Drone could've go way further and be back with no problem, is just that when you are video taping it uses more battery + the sensors.
At the price point of the mini 4, I don't understand the need to risk losing it by distance flying. I fail to see the point why so many drone owners have a need to duplicate what others have done. ???

How are you able to go over 400m high? And what is your transmission?
It depend on where are you fly,in my location can go 500m
Let’s stay under 120m please😂
🤣😅@@michaelwayneprange5495
@@cliffliu3106 are you sure?

You could have saved the battery if you didn't record on the drone, but only the mobile screen. Maybe you could also do 11km. :)
11km?i give up!maybe you can do it.thk's for watch
You bring back the drone flying to high ... next time fly more low.
high altitude = more wind
I will save you some time just watch the last two minutes of the video
i seen a youtube and it said china is eating catmeat?
mah, io lo trovo un test davvero poco sensato
Maybe not recording will save lot more battery¿
Yea but its not legendary unless you can show it to your friends 😃
I mean you recorded by screen capture by phone already why duplicate.
