Thanks 👏👏
You’re an absolute legend Chris. I’ve learned a couple of songs from you and all I can say is that I’m really thankful for your patience in explaining the songs.
That’s so kind, thanks a lot
Mannnn these arrangements are beautiful. Can't wait to learn em and surprise my pops. He always tells me how he'd listen to these country songs in the club back in Belize lmaoo great job with these!
That was lovely! Can't wait for Ring of Fire! Thanks for all the work you put in Chris
Thank you very much! Lessons coming soon.
Got a Yamaha myself, can’t believe the quality of guitar for the price… sounds great man
That's really nice playing and a really nice guitar. At first i thought it's an expensive one and than i googled it, and it's available for about 300. "insert shocked pikatchu meme"
Thanks, yeah that guitar is cheap as chips
I’m pretty faithful to Yamaha (guitars and pianos). The guitars are extremely affordable and age really well. The binding my my FG730s has started to turn and nice deep golden color, not unlike what you might see on an old les Paul, and the sunburst (same burst as the one in this video, actually) only seems become a deeper, richer red. I’ve never really been into super expensive equipment, so Yamaha is a nice brand for me. They’re definitely one of the most reliable ‘cheap’ guitars I’ve used.
Probably the greatest fingerpicking tutorial channel ever in RUclips platform .. Already learnt & covered Wonderful Tonight, Landslide, Dust in the Wind.. Thanks To Your teaching capability Chris.. Eagerly waiting for Heart of Life by John Mayer..
You’re awesome.. Keep up your stupendous work..

Should be titled “Top 10 Songs you will Never be able to play”
One you get the hang of independent finger movement these are simple songs. Keep at it, you'll get there
@@jumbo4billion that simply not true, to play them cleaning with anyway poper timing neer mind speed will take lot of hard work, espically some of them, its demotivating to new or intermediate players as we will struggle on lot of these and we will give up if we believe these came easy to likes of you, they didn't you spent many years to get to your skill level which I admire...so keep up great posts but please bare this comment in mind...encourage us dont pretend we can learn these easily
@@davidkelly1220 Of course it takes hard work.
I didn't say it controlling your picking hand comes to you without practice, I said these songs are simple once you have that control.
You will gain that skill if you persevere.
@@davidkelly1220 if you quit means you never really wanted. Stop giving excuses and practice your fingerpicking. Everything becomes easy with practice is all hes saying. Quit commenting, start practicing.
I downloaded and started to play his arrangement of hallelujah. Been working at it for 2 months and finally have it down. So they do come with time but yeah at first they're hard!
Hey man, thank you for these videos, you really motivate me to start playing again.

How is all this sound coming out of 1 guitar? Wow. ❤ How do I learn this?
Thanks so much, you can learn these arrangements on my site. Link in description!
This guitar sounds amazing. I only have a nylon-string guitar. Looking into steel (I assume yours is)? How is this one called or any recommendations?
I love you!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 I’ll learn to play those songs. Do you have tutorials on how to play each song? I’m still a beginner. I’m amazed on how you play and just makes me smile.
Thanks! All lessons are on my site, see link in description.
Would this sound good on a 6 string banjo?
Loving the video Chris! Can we get a tutorial for Take It Easy? Your arrangement is beautiful:)
Thanks Matt, you'll get a tutorial for all the songs.
That stretch at 1:00 is so unfair lol. Curse my short fingers haha
My pinky is short too, I eventually getting better at stretching. You can make it if you are willing to.
Amazing
How long have you been playing guitar?
Great selection of songs Chris! When will you be planning on doing lessons for The Claw and Cannonball Rag?
Thanks Charlie. Sometime in the next 6 weeks or so, learning/transcribing those two is a pretty daunting task.
Believe in Jesus Christ and be saved from hell before it’s eternally too late if you haven’t already. Amazing music
Holy sh!t I need tabs
Sir, if you don't mind me saying, could you please do "Let it go" by passenger

Thanks Habiba, glad you like my stuff. Possibly I'll do Let Her Go at some point but I get so many requests I really can't keep up with them all.

What guages are those strings?
Any lessons on the songs? I've been learning Tommy Emmanuel songs so these should be easy for me. Just need direction.

On the road again was different
What kind of guitar are u using in this video, sounds amazing by the way 😃
Kinda weird of a question but how do you get your nails short on your fret hand?
From a very bad habit of mine.
@@SixStringFingerpicking Ahhh nail chewing. Gets the best of us.
Settin' the woods fire by Hank Williams please...
Good choice
Nice. Somehow I cant open your site.
Thank you for these beautiful arrangements ! I'm very interested in learning a full version of Jolene song : did you plan to release it?
It's a pleasure. I did a lesson on how to play the actually song but I've not done one on a full arrangement of it. I most likely will at some point.
@@SixStringFingerpicking great news!
How do you do the arrangements? Is there a formula? Id love to do this with my original songs but don’t know how :‘)
i been watching your videos for a while and i’m just conflicted on this question, do you need long nails to play finger style. might be a dumb question but i can’t find an answer anywhere
Nah it's not a dumb question at all. You definitely don't need nails to play fingerstyle, I have the shortest fingernails imaginable. Just know that nails will produce a different tone to your flesh.
Six String Fingerpicking thank you so much time to cut my nails haha but really enjoy your tutorials, learned a lot from you!!
@@byron6507 I suggest trying both with and without out . I liked playing without nails 1st but when I tried with nails it was so much better
Paras Kaith i will most definitely try out with nails but rn i’m more comfortable without thank for the advice
@@SixStringFingerpicking bro when you're picking with the bottom 3 fingers, do you hit the string with your flesh pr where your nail starts ? And do you hit it at an angle ? Coz i really love your tone the way it sounds, please let me know
Really good 😍
This version of ring of Fire differs from the video you have posted, any chance we could also get a vid for this, cheers
It’s coming, I’ve done a simplified version and this version I’ll be releasing this week.
Dadgum
😊❤
What do I need to do/learn to be able to translate this on my own songs? I wanna play like this!! #lifegoals
Is it „just“ the melody of the song+baseline? Is there a recipe for that? Pleaaaase help dis is my dreaaaaam willing to practice 24/7 if only I’d know what to practice.
Id figure: 1.) knowing all the notes on guitar (?) 2.) a lot of fingerstyle practice so I can play it and sing independently
when I’m able to play like this I’ll be the happiest person ever
I am here becoz of his hat
Wow, amazing list, definitely gotta learn that Take Me Home arrangement, also the version of Freight Train you play here seems much fuller than the one on your lesson, is there anywhere to learn how to play it that way? Maybe on your website, I didn't look there... Also shame there's no Glen Campbell here, I'd think his stuff is ripe for these kinda fingerstyle arrangements, It's be interesting to hear arrangements of On This Road or Cold December In Your Heart or really anything from him lol, but whaddya gonna do, I understand he's not the most popular country artist, and he would say he's not even country to begin with, more of a 60's pop country kinda vibe, as much as that label kinda sounds awful lol
Dustin Johnson is that you?
Lonesome by Hanks Williams (nit sure who lol) great choice of songs! Keep up the good work.
Great suggestion!
Chris, I’ve been learning from you for a while now & I have a quick question...does it matter that I anchor my pinkie..?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Troy, if you've not been fingerpicking that long I think it's ok to anchor. I used to do it myself but naturally stopped over time. Eventually you'll probably find yourself not doing it, just keep an eye on it. I kind of think of it like stabilisers when learning to ride a bicycle.
Thank you Chris, I’ve played Solsbury Hill for two to three hours everyday for the past two weeks & I’ve almost nailed it...maybe I’m a slow learner but you have inspired me to persist with this tune which I honestly thought was beyond my capabilities.
👍🙌😍
Great video but I suggest doing something about the sound of the thumb pick hitting the strings, it kinda puts me off
Thank God I'm like the 853 person to have liked this video
i'd so love to be able to play fingerstyle, but it seems so complicated coordinating all your fingers, seems beyond me?
Have u been practicing yet?
Thumb isnt coming down, but who cares :)
Hate the hear the fingerpick! Have you considered nylon nails to improve sound?
I love how EVERY time someone tries to act “country” or “southern” they wear a stereotypical button up with jeans and a crocodile Dundee hat. It’s comical.
In reality its leather boots, blue jeans, a white t shirt and a ball cap
@@JosephStalin1941 yeah that’s way more accurate then this shit.
You seem like a douche
Depending on where your from, for me it's either jeans, flannel, and my cowboy hat, or just jeans, a T-shirt of some kind and my cowboy hat or as stated before, a ball cap
