    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  4 года назад +1

      The ones that come with graded books aren't the best. BCW has backs that you get in the same places as the bins: local comic shop, Amazon, BCW directly.

      There is no self sealing mylar. BCW does however make a poly bag for slabs which is self-sealing. Use this link to purchase from the website: www.bcwsupplies.com/?acc=Regie If it asks for a code, just use Regie.

    Great video Regie. With most DC black label using the magazine size format can this size bin fit bagged and boarded magazine format books?

    • @RegieCollects

      I don’t have any of those on hand to try but if the magazine is the same size or smaller than the width of a slab, you should be in good shape.

    I also wonder what the long term durability of a product like this has. For example, Would a dealer use these, or do you think they’d break apart with the abuse that they would go through?

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  3 года назад

      I’ve been using them for about two years. I’ve also seen some high end dealers use them. I want to say that the product has been tweaked over the years-minor changes-to prevent the boxes from coming apart. It’s not perfect but better. I move my boxes a lot and have never had a graded box come apart on me. One of the small raw boxes did however.

  • @valentine_puppy
    @valentine_puppy 4 года назад

    So, the weight and construction is an issue. Can these be moved very fast with all the weight and not come apart?
    Let's say you have to move, you need to get them into the U-haul that day but there is limited time. (This is just a scenario where i have been before with boxes that assemble like these do)
    You gotta grab like 2 boxes on top of one another and go down some stairs and you gotta whip them into the U-haul. How well will these stay together in a situation like that?
    Listen, I know it's just a hypothetical but a real situation none the less. I have personally seen this happen before with other stored things. Books for one. Heavy big bound books in
    containers with assembly like these.
    Also, Where would one get magazine size UV blocking serious storage options that allow you to still do what they were meant to do and that is
    read and enjoy them? As well as preserve them for 100 plus years? As you can tell i am VERY concerned about this. DO you know of any other magazine sized Fantasy/sword and sorcery books like Conan and Kull and Heavy Metal and Epic? Been hunting for a long time.
    One last thing, I am fat, out of shape and broke, is there a diet plan i can get where being broke as F, is factored in? I want to lose weight and gain muscle. Obviously i don't have the money for a gym membership. I want to do intermittent fasting but i need the greens to go with it, protein i can get from vegetables and Fish. No other meat though. Anyway, That's a lot i know but i sincerely Thank you so much.

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  4 года назад

      These are really great questions for BCW. They have support staff that can address your questions: www.bcwsupplies.com/. The website might also help you with UV blocking options for magazines.
      I am not a fan of intermittent fasting because it is another gimmick diet. I recommend that folks develop a healthy relationship with food that allows them to eat fats, carbs and protein as part of every single meal. The body needs these macronutrients to function normally and properly. Use a basal metabolic calculator (search online) to determine the number of calories you need per day. Subtract 3500 from that number to drop 1 pound of body weight per week. A calorie is compromised of 3500 calories (500 calories x 7 days). Take that remaining number and break it down into fats, carbs and protein. There are various ratios of these macronutrients that you can use to help you. Head to bodybuilding.com and do some research there on macronutrient ratios.

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  2 года назад +1

      You can but be careful if you have to move the bin for whatever reason. A slab is much larger than a raw book so you’ll have inches for that raw book to move around inside the bin.

      The only thing you have to worry about is the books shifting front to back or side to side. Either would potentially damage the book.

      @RegieCollects  3 года назад

      You’ve asked a lot of questions. I’ll try to address them. If you’ve spent a ton of money already, I would not buy a plastic BCW box as it’s an unnecessary expense. White cardboard is more than enough. Last time I checked BCW didn’t have a long graded box so you would be unable to get one for both raw and graded books given the different sizes.

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  3 года назад

      No, I don’t own Cerebus as that title doesn’t interest me. One of the rarest books is probably an inaccurate description. My guess is that there is a missing modifier like “indie” or “creator owned.

    • @RegieCollects

      You may want to rethink your strategy of buying every book you can find along with the true definition of “key.” Generally speaking real keys do not cost $1.00. Just because a book appears in an app doesn’t mean that you should purchase it.

      The bin looks completely sealed but it is not. There are air holes and moisture has never been an issue. When I first started using the bin I actually put desiccant packets in to be safe but discontinued that after my first summer with the bins.

      Regie Collects on another topic. How do you seal Mylar bags properly? I have my comics in Gerber 4 mil mylars and I seal the top with Glad cling wrap to keep stuff out. Works very well and I have not noticed any damage to my comics. Is that bad.

      I use painter's tape for my Mylar bags. I actually prefer the 2 mil versus the 4 mil because the closure is always an issue with the much thicker bags. If cling wrap works for you, I say keep doing it. I don't see a downside. Good luck.

    Thanks for the review brother! I have to get a graded version and a few regular versions, do they come in different colors?

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  5 лет назад

      At present they only come in black. Same with the small raw boxes. Hit BCWs website to check out the colored boxes that they do have.

    Is it available on amazon ? An how much does it cost?

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  5 лет назад +1

      I put some of the cost details in the description. Cost depends upon quantities purchased. They start at $30 for a single when purchased from BCW. Amazon also has them but they are slightly more expensive.

    I know the cardboard boxes are not the prettiest thing on Earth, but by God, the BCW boxes are hideous. To each his own.

      Jesper, couldn't disagree more. I have been moving my collection to these plastic bins and I think the bins themselves are much nicer and professional looking.

      I wish they used a plastic with more of a matte finish. Still a nice upgrade over cardboard.

    Very nice. I've been looking at them on Amazon. One question. Are they stackable? And if yes. How high can you stack them?

    • @RegieCollects
      @RegieCollects  5 лет назад +1

      Yes they are stackable. I tend to stop at 3 boxes. Not sure that BCW has a recommended limit however.
