- Freewell created an anamorphic lens for the DJI Mavic Air 2. Adding an anamorphic lens to your drone is great for getting really cinematic drone footage and helps to set your drone footage apart. I test the freewell anamorphic lens using the Mavic Air 2 and I also show you how to work with the footage in post. Is the Freewell anamorphic lens worth it? I think so. It's not expensive and it does at a nice anamorphic look to your footage.

nice video Jake, fyi at t=288 your license plate blur moves off the plate. I think you can fix that in the youtube editor without having to re-upload.

Just found out Freewell is coming out with an Anamorphic lens with built-in ND filter. Will be available in ND 8, 16, 32, and 64 apparently. Yay! :)

Dope footage!!! Hopefully Dji has some Black Friday/Holiday deal for a Mavic Air 2. I have been wanting to get one but am waiting to see if I can get a decent deal on one other than buying a used drone.

I thought you werent keeping it? I have the mini 2 sitting at best buy pickup but Im second guessing my decision. It was only $634 but that would go a long way towards the pro3 next spring. I guess I could just have both haha.BTW I have freewell ND filters for my camera and they are great.

Cool, I guess this is Freewell’s first attempt at an anamorphic lens. If it’s a success then I can imagine them making a ND anamorphic lens (if possible). What was the aspect ratio, 1.85, not 2.35?
the aspect ratio of this is 1.15 and considering how well this turned out I really hope they make more in the future for other drones!

To me, and this is the second review I've watched, the edge softness and the curved horizon are two primary reasons not to get this lens. I was really keen to get his and given the cost it's nice and affordable. However, a quality lens definitely shouldn't drgrade quality of the footage at all. That this does make it a deal-breaker for me.

Does anyone know if you can use these lenses and de-squeeze using iMovie?
There is no way to desqueeze in iMovie that I know of but perhaps someone one else knows a trick I am not aware of
