Carmela's face and reaction/delivery/response to $600K - she says it so quickly like they're talking about $100, and glances at Tony with "that's my price to move back in."
I just don't understand a guy not letting a woman leave. And I see it with my friends. What have you got? A prisoner? Who want's to be around a person who doesn't want to be there? I just don't understand.
The Carmela character dark side in my opinion is that she willingly stays with a serial murderer and a mafia boss knowing it but complies both for interest AND fear while continuously fantasizing on having a regular life with another man. She has a multiple personality, one comes from her family "traditions" and the others from her natural aspiration as a woman, her need for protection, her painful fears on the future of her kids and a light-harted love for luxury.
I don't know...I disagree. She is definitely compromising her morals and did so when she married Tony, but she does try to break away from him by trying to get a divorce. Seeing that she couldn't because every lawyer in town was scared of Tony, she did what she could in keeping busy by building a house and looking the other way. She could have said, fuck it and left Tony with none of the trappings of a luxurious lifestyle, and that's where her moral failing is. still you have to give her credit for at least trying to get away from Tony.
tim canterbury Well OK, I see your point. On the other hand as an Italian living in Italy I can say everybody knows what the mafia is about, it's about violent and unfair cohertion of regular citizens, living a life of criminal menace on everybody and anybody (and also of course grimy killings, torture, betrayal, duoble-play and treachery)....basically a person with even the slightest morals naturally stays miles away from that habitat (BTW they are scary not funny like in the show, believe me). Actually I also dislike the term "mafia" or "camorra" or whatever, it glorifies this lifestyle and gives it an identity. I neatly prefer the Japanese term for "mafia" which is KORYOKUKAN or simply "violent group" made of course of naturally and extremely violent men.
I don't know.. Carmela was a great homemaker, but she was more than calculated and she was so materialistic oriented.. Just look at her jewelry, so much gold on her, multiple golden necklaces and bracelets all the time , well beyond any good taste (I think Chase was sending a message with her appearance).. She knew well who she married (her uncle Eddie was connected and so was Dickie Moltisanti) She did try to leave Tony genuinely at one point and certainly sometimes craved for "regular life" yet fell in love with Furio, another connected man.. (the wallpaper guy Victor Musto never came to her mind again even though she implied she might look for him in the future).. After the affair gone wrong with professor Wengler, another regular guy, she confesses to her father trough the veil of tears her intentions would always be questioned cause she was married to a guy like Tony.. She realizes she wouldn't be able to change her life that easy and decides to have Tony back...Don't forget Tony basically has no choice but to pay his way back in... And pay big time, 600K just for a lot for her spec house
The perfect couple. Each one so awful to the core but managing to opportunistically slap a veneer on their face when they want something. They deserved each other.
Stone cold at 1:43. Translates to C: This time, no jewelry, car or "family" beach house. I want 600k in MY name. T: Done, but I'm coming home, sleeping in my bed, doing what the fuck i want when i want and you're not gonna say shit. I'll keep it out of your face.
I love Carmela. Shes beautiful and has a good soul about her. Shes just in a very complex situation and almost overlooks so much because she sees in a way that this is what she sighed up for. Its tragic in so many ways. Tony never deserved such a wife.
Loool good soul? Stopsimping my dude, she's literally oneoftheworst people on the show. She was extremelyhypocritical and wasn't afraid to use her husband's status as a mob boss to intimidate or overpower others.
1 second ago I’m pretty sure my brother and sister in law have an “arrangement”. Money, status, and Power are important to both of them. They know and entertain a lot of important people. I think she’s had a few affairs. He travels for business, and has done the same. She can be a “witch” at times and is hard to live with. He is so focused on business you’d think there is nothing else in his world. Money is everything to him. I think they agreed to stay together long ago to keep the family name, business, and money all intact. She plays tennis and hangs out at the club with her friends. He travels and stays gone a lot. While my mom was alive, she was his confidant and true friend. Now that she’s passed away, I wonder how he’s dealing with the loss of the only someone he could be open and honest with. I love every scene between Tony and Carmella
they are usually the best scenes in each episode yep
The comments on sopranos videos are always hilarious.
This scene is another demonstration about how great this show is and the skill of these two magnificent actors
Carmella gets over half a mil, Tony gets to keep his hu-ars. Fair trade if you ask me.
Do you think that she going to be married to Tony for years and not pick up a couple of negotiating skills here and there?
Not even New-York was able to shake down tony for that kind of money.
Carmela's face and reaction/delivery/response to $600K - she says it so quickly like they're talking about $100, and glances at Tony with "that's my price to move back in."
“You know, your feelings” oh Tony. He’s such a charmer....
Such an awkward scene you can tell Carmela really doesn't want Tony back but needs him for her House she wants to build
she tried to divorce him!!
But the psychiatrist told he to leave and not take his money; and she could not do it.
I just don't understand a guy not letting a woman leave. And I see it with my friends. What have you got? A prisoner? Who want's to be around a person who doesn't want to be there? I just don't understand.
She basically like I can’t leave him if I wanted so let me extort him
I think it’s deeper than that
i'll make a down payment...& move back in. CLASSIC.
“Give me $600,000.”
I processed it you know ur feelings
Anthony Vazquez it really hit home with me finally..
And after looking at the numbers, and talking with the New York families, I hope we can settle this beef and get back to business.
This is a perfect example of how Tony is running 2 families. The DiMeo family and the Soprano family. This is practically a negotiation.
Damn. Shook him down for 600 big ones 😭
Tony loves her he ask her for 😘😘😘😘😘 kiss and said I'll move back in aw he's being sweet ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
First step, I'd consider giving you a quarter of my points in the bird feeder.
Tony’s facial expressions are golden in this scene.
The Carmela character dark side in my opinion is that she willingly stays with a serial murderer and a mafia boss knowing it but complies both for interest AND fear while continuously fantasizing on having a regular life with another man.
She has a multiple personality, one comes from her family "traditions" and the others from her natural aspiration as a woman, her need for protection, her painful fears on the future of her kids and a light-harted love for luxury.
it is known as compartmentalization
She confessed that to a shrink referred by Dr. Melfi

Well OK, I see your point.
She knew well who she married (her uncle Eddie was connected and so was Dickie Moltisanti)
She did try to leave Tony genuinely at one point and certainly sometimes craved for "regular life" yet fell in love with Furio, another connected man..
Good to see Tony holds his knife and fork properly.
Stone cold at 1:43. Translates to
C: This time, no jewelry, car or "family" beach house. I want 600k in MY name.
T: Done, but I'm coming home, sleeping in my bed, doing what the fuck i want when i want and you're not gonna say shit. I'll keep it out of your face.
This sort of sealed the deal that they were made for each other...
I would simp for that sexy ass of hers too.

I’m pretty sure my brother and sister in law have an “arrangement”. I would think a lot of high powered, wealthy, (and highly religious or political) folks have marriages like this.
carms dad was a stand up guy- "IVE HAD A LIFETIME OF HER BULLSHIT"!
Tremendous actor, I know you all seen the face he made when Carmella said 600g also when he seen that drink in Christopher hand...Gandophini you were great
"It's not a lie if you believe it" - George Costanza
It’s actually”it’s not a lie, if you believe it”
@@OlgaSmirnova1 the video came up on my recommended videos again, saw the quote and thought I’d got something wrong. Thanks for that, corrected it
"Whaddya having dinner?"
Im surprised Chrissy never did make boss, nothing got past that kid.
Carmella's face when he said "You want another kid" lol
So here is the instructional video on how not to get married.
the writing is just too good... Christopher's question... hehe
600K to make Carmela happy…….I’d rather do 20 f’n years and eat grilled cheese off da radiator
LOL, this has the same energy as Tony bargaining with Carmine Lupertazzi. It's a fucking shakedown, that what it is.
Only is remaining is salud when deal is finalised
Tony got a massive discount here. A divorce would have cost him way more than $600k.
she looks so cute here
Women like myself have been in relationships somewhat like this.
0:45 When he said you want another kid the subtitles were: You want another cake.
🤦🏻♀️ No, Tony, YOU want the cake. 🤣
Christopher with his usually insightful questions, “What? Are you having dinner?” No, we’re doing our taxes.
This was an expensive dinner for Tony. Carmella had a certain way with Tony that she could get what she wanted and when she wanted it
The shit you miss when you watch this as a kid holy crap. I highly recommend watching the sopranos again if you havent seen it since it aired it is an entirely different show. Theyre basically giving up and settling here.
This getting back together felt more like a business deal. Wow
He probably got away cheap considering how much he would have to pay in a divorce
Livia and Carmela were the two biggest gangsters in that family.
$600,000 for an acre. I live in jersey and buy and sell lots. that's pretty steep!
So u want another kid ..her face expression was priceless lmao
1:20 Tony's reaction to her saying $600,000 lmao
classic scene it shows the constant battle that tony has with personal life and the mob, as soon as chrissy steps in then he has to quickly switch to business mode. and btw i just farted
I know, it stinks.
"I promise you my midlife crisis problems won't intrude on you anymore.
In other words.. What you don't know won't hurt....
I'll have to remember that line should I need it one day..
Cheaper than a divorce.
Bro 600k he really had to think about that 🫠
Cowmella can always be placated by buying her a new shinebox from time to time.
Nobody stabs a plate like T! Between his heavy breathing and stabbing at that ziti this guy is a beast!
