Bamboo Blue Huntington Banks are everywhere in Michigan.
They are a regional bank. Mostly in the midwest. I'm from Detroit and they're all over the place
He should use a credit union
He says he's not a client of Huntington, which suggests he doesn't have an account there. I'm figuring it is his _employer_ who has the account there and he took the check to the bank the check was written on. Meaning it is _their_ check, not a check from another bank, and they should have real easily been able to verify the check was legitimate.
I experienced similar treatment from Huntington Bank of Ohio. I opened my account to be able to assist my granddaughter who was attending college a few hours from me. My son started a successful business and needed a small business loan. The loan was denied even though I was providing capital for the loan amount. Then months later I was accused of being a drug dealer by a teller when I went to cash a check. I guess they were not use to Blacks that actually meet their requirements. I could have sued their pants off but I just closed my account. Now, I receive frequent requests from the bank to reopen my account. Why? Well it so happened that I write Google reviews and my negative review was read by over a 1,000 people.

So, the 911 caller was lying when he said the check doesn't match our records. Had he actually checked the account & routing numbers (those little numbers you see at the bottom of a check), he would have found the check was 100% legitimate
the bank reported fake crime should be fine for it
Timbrock1000 I am glad that the cops did show up and made a report that shows the opposite, that his check is real. He has a good case, and the cops made his case easier, he needs to show all these documents to a good lawyer. I am glad the victim was released from the squad car. I hope they will arrest the 911 caller.
Check cashing stores in my city keep note of the checks you cash for those same reasons. I got turned away for this exact same reason before. Next day, I cashed my check.
No. Its not that simple. People copy and create payroll checks ALL THE TIME and these fake checks will have the correct account and routing numbers. So no its not that simple.
