    I had someone message me on a friday night saying i had sent them the wrong book. I explained i hadn't. Messages went back and forth , i adamant i didnt send the book and they convinced i did. Next morning they messaged me to apologise. They were drunk the night before and the book had been sent as a gift by a family member.

    Not only would I tell that guy to keep the card and I'm giving them all his money back, I might actually give him store credit.
    The only time I've ever been scammed was at 4:00 a.m. me not reading an email correctly and being half asleep. It cost me my credit card number getting stolen

      I agree. I've sent the wrong thing before. I sent someone a premium Hot Wheels car and it was supposed to be a Funko Pop. I told them to keep the Hot Wheels car and gave them a full refund. If I first insinuated the buyer was a repeat swindler... I don't know what I'd do. I'd feel bad.
      I can commiserate with the buyer. I was looking at countless Topps 1984 Football the other day, trying to finds cards that weren't completely miscentered. When people use the same pic for multiple cards, it can get annoying.

    On the card mistake, I would let him keep the card and ship him the correct card at no charge. That way you’re not losing money and the guy is still getting what he paid for.

    • @onefootflipper
      @onefootflipper  29 дней назад +1

      I no longer had the "correct" one. It was an issue of me thinking I had quantity 2 on an item that was really 2 nearly identical items that were quantity 1. He probably didn't try to return it because I actually had it 40 percent under market price and he would never get another one at that price.

    Message the customer to offer a full or partial refund(depending on item value) with no need to return anything. The specifically state the in return for the refund you would request they leave either positive or no feedback. Then ask if they'd agree to this and would like the refund. They always say yes. Ebay has honored this communication in the past if the buyer breaks the agreement.

    14:12 I guess because of the shipping costs, which are extremely high via the ebay international system. It doesn't exist here in Germany yet, but I won't use it anyway because the shipping costs will certainly put many buyers off. For example, I send most of my items internationally as registered mail for EUR 9.80 or 12.80. And I suspect that I am still competitive even with sellers from the USA, without knowing the actual costs within the USA, as I often sell to the USA.

    At first I thought the card story was going to be a scam attempt where someone had a not as nice card, bought yours and then tried to palm their inferior card as the one you sent so as to get a better card for free.

    On the last item, the $100/hour is all that matters. Well done.

    Speaking of time travel, have you read the book 11-22-63 by Stephen King? I'm listening to the audiobook for the third time
    As a reseller, every time I watch a time travel movie I can't help but think about how If I traveled back to the same year, how rich I would be from knowing what to pick as a reseller

      That's one of my favorite King novels. I loved it. He often fails to stick the landing in that the end kind of sucks. Not 11-22-63. The ending was nice.

    Wow, I've done something similar. I was already angry and defensive at the eBay notification because it was the middle of the night. It's hard to resist the temptation to check your phone. I wish I learned my lesson and can say that I stopped.
    An apology and a refund is a good idea. You might have to write a very humble reply to a negative feedback later.

  • @oddwareect

    As I buyer it never ever crosses my mind to leave feedback much less negative feedback. I had to return a defective piece of equipment just the other day. It was poorly packed but I don't think it was the transit that broke it. Still not going to leave feedback.

    Sealed Pokémon when picking the right pieces have done well. So many of the sword and shield booster boxes have doubled in price in the last year or two. Then you got Evolving Skies and those prices are insane.

      Just don't ever open the box. If you don't get Vmax umbreon then you lose your shirt on the box.

  • @jonceramic

    I would completely apologize in an honest way. And if he does leave negative feedback, apologize there with the same hat in hand honesty without any sort of comeback or justification. You do enough volume that the best strategy with a rare issue that was your fault is to completely and total own up to it.

  • @MovingMountainsCommunity
    @MovingMountainsCommunity 29 дней назад

    I think you should refund for sure. I always try to jump through hoops to avoid negative feedback. With that low cost if you can even remotely win them back by taking the time to refund and have them keep the card that to me is well worth it.

    Salem NH- thoughts 💭 on vintage game console values? Thank you for sharing!!!😅😅😅😅😅😅

    • @onefootflipper
      @onefootflipper  29 дней назад

      Working consoles should keep rising in value, particularly the disc based ones. There are various aftermarket replacement consoles available for nearly every cartridge based one so those won't see as much price growth. Cartridges should all continue to rise in value, while discs as a whole will continue to drop in value as the install base of the disc based consoles continues to shrink daily.

      No, but I do have somewhere between 10K and 20K Beanie Baby trading cards. They are actually incredibly high quality. I use them as packing material inside the sleeves to protect my real cards. Once Those run out I have 20K of early 90s Cheerleader cards to use.
