Hats off to this person speed running this game. Some of the most labrythian level design in any video game. Must of taken some serious dedication to remember where to go in all of them.

I can't thank you enough !! You made me take the I AM TUROK achievement that was impossible for me to take You made it so simple and i highly recommend this video
Imagine working hard capturing people and creating a bunch of energy power types systems and master computers just to have turok show up, jump everywhere and destroy everything within minutes 😂

I even bought a walkthrough magazine to see if there was a trick I hadn't figured out, but I still couldn't get past that door. I spent weeks running around that level trying to figure that out.
@@supercunthunt7756 yes its level 3! I picked up the remaster a few months ago and now ive gotten to the hive of the mantids, its a bit confusing. But its still fun just like it was when i was a kid!!!

@@K4inan You'd just have to lure enemies into another enemy's crossfire. It was easy to do with ranged enemies but still possible with melee enemies. Then they'll aggro onto another enemy and they'll start fighting each other.
This game was very often delayed, i waited over almost two years for Turok 2. Man, i was so hyped and when it was finally out it feels almost like playing the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Game from GSC. I was surprised that Turok 2 is not more only collecting Keys, this time we got Quests to solve in the Levels and i was frustrated in my first playthrough in 1998.
There's a reason most people give up after the Death Marshes - Lair of the Blind Ones and Hive of the Mantids are just bad design - everywhere looks more or less identical. Navigating around them was an experience in tedium.
I like that they remastered all the visuals and raised the framerate to a consistent 60 fps, and they managed to make a version of turok 2 that 1999 computers wouldnt dream of running, and on top of that, all the sound effects are the same and the enemies still look very similar to how they did in the original. I really like that they did that. Also it seems that there is no longer any fog like in the n64 version which is the only way I ever had a chance to play this game. I'm happy with this remaster.
@Jyde K te render distance was limited cause of the n64 at the time everything far was foggy. Now they extended the distance so you can see a lot farther.
Other than a few times where corners could be cut a teendy bit better, a skip in the port of adia to bypass a lever, and a few points of getting stuck on enemies this is overall a great speedrun, especialy looking at the GDQ Speedrun of 1:14:whatver on Easy vs this of 1:15 whatever on Hardcore, still a really great run, nice work!
I've recently completed hardcore and seeing a speedrun of this on hardcore was so satisfying good job brother , you probably know this by now since you uploaded this vid 4 years ago but the switch in the village in level 1 the one you have to go inside the building before the bridge i think , might be wrong but you went inside to activate it , it can be activated OUTSIDE through the wall, i don,t know it might be faster to go inside , it is the switch that gives you the ladder, to go up, i just wanted to tell you might help you out if you are still speedrunning this, also maybe not on hardcore but a well placed explosive shredder shell one shots the primagen's antenna , so again GG bro that was sick.
He doesn't fulfill all of the levels mission objectives. Just gets all the necessities to get straight to the primagen keys on any given level to 'technically' finish the game
I feel like thats one of the only games where we can say good game but didnt pass the first level, like the game is just freaking amazing but at the same time it's not necessarily what we anticipated. The levels look too much alike but the sounds and the atmosphere is unrivaled.
the only thing that mad me not like turok 2 as much as i could, is the fact that there is no indicator on where you are supposed to go ! also there is a little bit of back tracking!! that took some of the fun away.. but after a x ammount of hours, i finally beat it :P i must add that it was on n64 XD
Yea that was the point XD Man today games are so straight forward, holding your hands where only gameplay and action is of importance. The level design and difficulty is mind blowing for it's time. I've heard that the levels in the remaster were slightly modified to be less confusing, personally i can't tell the difference BUT and this is a big but, i don't get as lost as I once did as a kid. Or maybe i was just a kid who could not play the game. What do you think Behemoth, is the game's layout more friendly to a modern audience?
Yes most levels had slight alterations to level design, to make parts less confusing. Most notably in the Lair of the Blind ones a part was added to make a section near the end not so complicated. I think the improved movement like just how fast you run, and framerate etc can also contribute to make it an easier experience and being able to navigate/remember where you're going.
