Ok I can't be the only one who was afraid of Ranbir and Bobby joining hands coz the placing of Saari Duniya Jala Denge really made me feel like that would happen! That possible Ayan Mukerji angle of 'Love conquers all.' 🙃🤦🏻♂️ When the brother from each side said, "mera bhai bol nahi sakta" and "mera bhai sunn nahi sakta", what I could hear was "YOUR MOM'S NAME IS MARTHA? MY MOM'S NAME IS MARTHA!" 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t have a problem with violence in movies. I’m a huge Tarantino fan. However, violence without conviction gave me a migraine by the end of Animal. I didn’t care about the characters and there was no time spent in the reason why Ranbir became the animal he is in the film. Belonging to a highly influential family flying private jets, his dad issues seemed too insignificant which left the stakes too low for the viewers. The song used for the climax fight was misplaced and seemed comical for the situation. Indian directors have a long way to go. Just watch how Tarantino writes long conversational scenes cooking up the suspense to a great high which then explodes into violence. Over here the dialogues were elementary to say the least.
SOO PEFECTLY YOU SUMMED IT UP,THIS IS THE ACTUALITY!! Its great to show characters having an andrenaline rush but only when the director himself is not influenced by that rush! One needs to be true to his craft, his charcters ,their motivations and above all story telling.and not just assume the audience's lauds and then create a sign while being high on your assumed audience reactions. The silence in the end fight would have worked so well..but that music was sooo heavily misplaced that it took all the excitement of that gore action which bollywood hardly executes..the gore was definetley commendable atleast visually, wish i could say the same about the BGM as well.
I think a lot of violence and sex scenes were used just for shock value. It didn't add to the story or have any lasting impact. And the so-called father son relation never really got any closure. They haphazardly try to wrap it up in one scene. They should have focused more on the history of the family if they intend to bring another movie on it. The movie lacked substance for that long running time too. And my major complaint with Vanga's movies is how the hero's actions have no consequences. There are where his movies are problematic.
You have written exactly what I felt and spoke about once I finished watching the film.. violence in the name of what ?? The father son duo had no solidified narrative for me at all.. it felt like forced violence and didn’t really strike a chord with me.
I also didn't felt anything with the father son arc. Only thing it look like in the end was a dumb ploy to give justification for him to go violent. The same guy who was a loyal happy go lucky family man in the states. Wtf
90 percent of the sex scenes are there for shock value only. If you remove sex and nudity from films and shows, you’ll realise that “sala ye baat toh kapde pehen k bhi ho sakti thi.”
Did anyone feel that Ranbir and Bobby's characters were designed to be similar and complementary - like one was mute and the other deaf and both make each other complete. Similarly, when they fight at the end, you can see that one eye of each of them (opposite eyes, mind you) were damaged. Also, the scene where Bobby lights a cigarette on top of Ranbir showed they are opposite yet complementary. Even the way they were obsessed with their parent/grandparent, willing to do anything to avenge them, and the way they treated their wives were similar. Hell, even the look given to them was so similar.
@@Susmitha0369Bobby is like villian he can kill someone like he killed who didn't tell him about his bro death , way more abusive. Ranvijay is good guy filled with flaws , obsession, respect women ,good people
Biggest issue is that many don’t understand that this movie is not about Ranvijay’s growth, it’s about his deterioration. His character let’s go of all his devotions, loyalties, and promises in one way or another. I loved this about the movie. It’s a great character study. Look at this guy’s transformation from “tere moo mein cake daal doonga” to “I’ll slap you so hard like I slap other men around.” It speaks volumes to the depths he’s dropped down to.
He already had that side since he was young. It didn't come out early because of his father sending him to boarding school and then exiling him. You want a pure deterioration, watch Law Abiding Citizen. You can trace the arc and see him on the slippery slope with a cause you can relate too. And the climax lol, Bobby had him in the head choke and he freed himself, okay the usual freakin hero bs. Then after he doesn't even get Bobby in head choke but starts cutting his throat. Why didn't this great villain fight back? The amount of time Bobby's character had to fight back, good lord, so stupid.
@@BrHassan honestly i was interested in bobby's family dynamics more than ranbir lol like the translator guy really seemed to have a deep affection for bobby that seemed somewhat uncomfortable for some reason then the childhood moments of bobby that affected this life so much so he turned into a "mute villain" could've been explored.
Exactly. Basically this movie was about the de*generate lifestyle of a F boy from a wealthy family and he also has daddy issues. Unfortunately this world has a lot of people (especially men) who are morally co*rrupt but wield power who make the life everyone around them a misery. Women and men should avoid such types of people for the sake of their own sanity.
@@iforsynee Highly agree with this, Bobby's character and his past should've been present to give more context of his childhood and him growing up to a mute villain
I agree the father-son relationship wasn't explored much but the scars were beautifully captured in little moments, especially the last scene where Ranbir finds out about Anil's illness and yet can't even break down in front of him. That scene was heartbreaking!
@@Iron_man220 My only feedback was underutilized Bobby and the family relationship could have been explored more. Simply just make 2 parts of this movie.
@@blackdeath3821 I get it bhaii. I understand what you are saying. I wish someone from Mumbai invites Sandeep for his analysis. He’s been giving in Telugu and we realise a lot minute details and his vision.
One of the more underrated scenes is when Anil Kapoor says he has stage 4 cancer. Ranbir broke all hell loose to protect his father, nearly getting killed himself in the process and going through wild lengths of struggle in his personal life as well. All of it to be negated by one thing - cancer; something which Ranbir couldnt fight over for his father.
A broken father son relationship does not justify disrespect & toxicity towards a woman. Rightly pointed out there was absolutely no need for certain scenes and dialogues.
Not all movies are just about "What to do and What to be." Some movies also show us "What not to do and What not to be." Movies are art and can be understood in different ways. You can take whatever message you want from them and see them from different angles. It all depends on what you believe.

I think they could introduce boby earlier in Balbir's birthday or even in interval where ranvijaya was calling... One thing I like about Animal over Kabir Singh is the fact of consequence. In Kabir Singh the movie’s ending always seemed (at least to me) as justifying the actions of Kabir. The fact that he faces no real consequences for his actions, beyond having his medical license removed (which the movie doesn’t really dwell too much on). Some might point out that his grandmother passes away, but that isn’t actually a consequence of his actions, just a well timed consequence. In comparison, Animal actually forces the main character to face consequences in multiple ways. First of the consequences is the fact that Geetanjali is ultimately fully done with the relationship and willing to leave him. The second is the fact that Ranvijays actions directly lead to the creation of Aziz Haque, and what I presume is going to be pure carnage. The last consequence is the fact that, despite his every effort, Balbir is still destined to die, from a disease that he can’t do anything to stop, showing how futile his reign of vengeance was.
For me, other prospect, that could have been explored, is How Ranbir himself as a father was with his children? What made me a bit surprised about the whole movie was , how story constantly circled around ranbir and his father, while in the 2nd part it could have shown how he was with his own child as well. Barring the fact that yes, he has turned his marital relation into a problematic relation, he betrayed his wife, killed his sisters husband, ignores every other's advice or commands just for his father, at the same time how was he being as a father. This point could have been an interesting contrast to see. How differently he treats his children and every other individuals. What made the child so close to his father, that despite his father being mentally deranged and distant to every close one, he still runs back to him when they were supposed to go away.
Children always turn towards there parents unless they don't sense the don't see the animal in them. Know so many cases where children were clueless why there mother left there father and they believe there father was good person until they get reality check. Let's take an example a wolf kills there prey brutally to enjoy his meal but play before killing it but the child only see how there father wolf is bringing food for them. For them there wolf father is a super hero but in reality they're predator now I understand this example is bit off but I want to explain in some fun manner.
I totally agree. Because he shares such a heartfelt moment with his son when he calls him a superhero. Changing the toxic cycle of abusive parents by raising him warmth and love would have been such a good touch
@@TriedRefusedProductions I didn't expect you would reply. Thank you, For reviewing movies in a unbiased sense , and for the detailed constructive criticism . Your attention to detail and analysis capability inspires us. Love, from Bangladesh.
In my theatre in PVR Bhubaneswar the audience clapped at interval. Even one person said that he is ready to watch 5 hrs movie if it is like this. But in the 2nd half most of the audience was silent & was shocked at what Ranbir was doing. Be it the nude scene, the bra scene, the Tripti Dimri scenes. The moment Ranbir cheated, I think audience stopped sypathising with Ranbir.
Is anybody gonna talk about how his movie potrayed regional authenticity with such class. I don't speak punjabi or marathi and still enjoyed every moment of it. Also nice to see a character facing health issues after going through a bloodbath. Most of the time main characters survive without any scratch or little wounds. Dude goes deaf and undergoes a heart transplant that is such a cool detail.
While I agree with you that introduction of Tipti could have been easily avoided by just a simple conversation between grandfather and grandson , The thing in my opinion is that Tipti Dimri was introduced just for one thing, to show Ranvijay Singh Balbir as the bad guy, the aspect that shows He finally broke all the boundaries with Tipti. Audience have persuaded Ranvijay as a heroic character until Tipti was introduced, this in my opinion was important to showcase that Ranvijay is not a Heroic character he is infact an animal and audience shouldn't relate to this character.
The biggest criticism for Kabir Singh was that it shouldn't have been a happy ending after all the mess but in Animal it's different. Ranvijay loses his family and he is going to lose his father soon and this time he can't save him either. I think the criticism is blown out of proportion at this point of time. Every film has the right to co-exist.
No one is against the existence of the movie. Everyone has the right to criticise it especially such a shallow movie riding only on sex and violence and no intellectual depth.
@@TriedRefusedProductions Oo...Now the sequel will tell was it a goodbye hug or Rashmika changed her mind. No matter how wild the Post Credit scene was, I didn't want them to get them on the bandwagon of franchising. The problem I find in Sandeep's film's is that his women are always shown to be dependent on the man be it the sisters or the wife, the mom tho knows is always made to shut up by her husband. The best scene for me is when Ranvijay's son comes running to hug him just stole my heart it felt like a complete circle of what he wanted from his father he got it from his son I totally agree about Tripti's angle of the film it was so unnecessary The physical transformation of Ranbir for Animal is so damnnnn inspiring cause for a genaration like us who saw him be a chocolate boy could never imagine him being this 'Animal'

In fact the writer of the film said that the story of the film IS Devasena & Sivagami, whereas rest of the characters play second fiddle to them.
Overall, I actually liked the film. But I think it is important to address some of the more problematic scenes of Animal. Doing so doesn't make you a woke liberandu or a snowflake.
The superiority of Kabir Singh is that unlike Animal the 'problematic scenes' serve as a strong and necessary catalyst to story and had impact. To find that distinction one doesn't need to be regressive/progressive, it's just simple sa Logic. Sadly, Sandeep did a lazy job this time TBH. 😂😂
So glad to see, as a woman who doesn’t resort to the Indian liberal agendas, a new group of Indian men, emerging who can call out misogyny and problematic behaviours, without labelling themselves “woke”.
Contrary to Arjun Reddy, this movie lacked emotional depth between characters. Also promising actors like bobby, shakti kapoor were under-utilised. I wish they explored more on father-son relationship or add a scene btw shakti kapoor and RK, to set an emotional bond, the audience would have felt something for the character along with his animilistic characterisation. Even Anil kapoor almost vanishes in the second half- he is just there for reaction shots till the climax. The sisters too don’t show up in the latter half. Thus, many sub plots and characters don’t get closure.
I am done with misogyny in Indian cinema in general... no wonder people are moving away from Indian content and going towards Korean and American content.
Toxic masculinity & mysogyny all through. Ranbir surpassed my expectations as an actor, Rashmika’s role and acting shines. I posted my 2 cents about movie on my channel.

Yeah. I actually felt for her in that confrontation scene. Being betrayed and cheated destroys your inner peace. And Rashmika isn't as bad as people make her out to be.
After the interval sequence I expected the Ranbir Bobby fight to be the next high of the film but the next high came truly in the Anil and Ranbir confrontation role reversal play.! I am certain this movie could have gone next level had they properly invested time into Bobby and also the dynamic between the father and the son.

They wasted much time showing the sequence between Ranbir and the weakling Rashmika...they should've built and explored Bobby's character more...focused more complexity of relationship between Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor...Tripti Dimri scene stretched too much...more like trying to express directors personal frustration and pain in terms of a film making than the content of the film
In the last scene the son keeps running towards Ranvijay, but what about the daughter? The daughter was no where to be seen. Does the love between the daughter and the father not matter?
The story was about a father son relation the originals series is all about father and daughter relation despite klaus having marcel whom he considered as his son.
@@merman_laozu7781 but he loved him just as his own son and movie is about father son so obviously father and son love would be showcased this was a very stupid question from the original commenter shows he just wants to hate nothing else.
There is a fine line between the reality of gore and blood in the movies and glorying gore and blood. I found better toxic father-son relationship depiction in movies like "Udaan" and better gore blood in movies like "Scarface", and "Game of Thrones" etc. What I understood is that while showing the bloods and fights, the context of the story should align with it. things like - "what this war scene will add as consequences in the story and create suspense around it for the audience, and how dark it gets when the character delves into it". Animal missed all those points and instead glorified each act of violence which we have been watching in most of the Indian Action Cinema. Despite that, all the misogyny in the movie, felt more unnecessary because the character was built to explore the darkness inside him and the father issues he had since childhood but somehow everything shifted to a nonsense triangle love story buildup and senseless climax with less of a villain's story.
3 things that would have elevated the screenplay and made the movie work for me personally 1. Should’ve explored the father son issues a little more, there was no empathy evoking in me during all that mad violence. 2. Going the polygamy route would have created a great parallel, Bobby married to 3 women and being totally abusive & Ranbir on the other hand unapologetically falling for Zoya being respectful and caring towards the 1st wife at the same time. 3. More Bobby screen time & back story.
I think it is only focused on Animal that is Balbir journey losing his morals . I am hearing Bobby will be in Animal park as prequel. let's wait for it
Yes, the whole scene before the interval would have meant so much if they explained the motive before it happened. At that point it seemed more like a video game.
The cheating scene actually made me sick, as audiences in the cinema I was in, and the characters around him in the film cheered it on, within the context of a masala film, this is highly disgusting and morally bankrupt. But they portrayed a Sikh affair as ‘passionate’ and ‘respectful’ but the 3 marriages of a Muslim (villain) as abusive, toxic and evil.
Vanga just shortchanged Bobby's character in this movie. I was desperately hoping Bobby Deol would win the battle at the airstrip and just take off. Abrar was the kind of antagonist with whom you needed atleast two fights. The first one should have left Ranbir down and out so that the one in which he punches back, it would have felt more earned. And then they could have introduced Aziz's character after that. That would have been crazy to see that we have a villain who is even more animalistic than Abrar. But instead, Vanga decided to focus on a weird cheating, story plotpoint. It would have been so much better if Ranbir would have gotten intel about Abrar immediately after the interval from his Grandpa and then charge to defeat him with rage and just get the shit beaten out of him and his Tabbar to just bring him back home. And then they should have progressed with the injury story.
I think Tripti Dimri's short stint in this one is to make way for a lead role in the sequence. Also I think why they needed to have the romantic angle is for the child to be held hostage or go against Rannvijay. This movie is a lot about your intrusive thoughts taking over just like how we would like to bash someone's face in if they did something we are so against but don't because we have to function in society.
Yes. Even I thought of it as unnecessary until I saw the post credit scene where Zoya is shown with Haques and pregnant. Maybe she will secretly support ranvijay or maybe she will raise the kid to hate his father for all the lick-my-shoe humiliation she faced. But it looked like she actually cared for ranvijay and his family. I don't expect vanga to write strong female roles.
The “Zoya factor” was the major down fall in the script. At that point I as an audience also felt betrayed by Ranbir’s character. And so many silly analogies could have been easily avoided Saving screen time for more backstory about Bobby’s character and his rage for Balbir . For me it was a ‘hit and miss ‘.
I was also not happy with the cheating scene but I feel that it all made sense in the end.. When they said that Lord Bobby's third wife has given birth to twins.. (It means two babies who were literally born when their father was getting murdered will now continue the revenge tale.. It will somewhere on similar lines like Bobby's character became dumb when he had seen his father murder himself...Plus those two kids are adopted by Aziz who looks like Ranvijay)... Zoya is justified because now she carries Ranvjijay's baby so now even Ranvijay has a son who is with his rivals... might be raised by Zoya... The fact he even had feelings for Zoya is Highly likely that he will like to talk to her.. So the connection will be established... Regarding the cheating part I feel that it was actually not glorified.. It is perhaps one of those very few movies where they actually talked about it for more than 5+ minutes and Geetanjali actually leaves him for that. The whole 'cheating to get info' was necessary for Animal Park so that their lineage would extend .. otherwise who would be up for revenge ? Rabir's character highlighting the importance of 'patience' in a scene also might be a hint...Plus I feel that even Shakti Kapoor's character has got something.. He was just being too nice...! Being a rationalist I am still in a shock that I liked the film and actually am Looking forward for second part😮😂
What I personally believe is that the only reason Sandeep didn’t dive too much into the bobby’s past instead he showed the detailed progress of Ranbir’s character because as the film title says ‘ANIMAL’ it’s a story of Ranvijay and his father. He thought of saving the most interesting and terrifying part for the sequel- ANIMAL PARK, where he will get enough time to explore bobby’s past life. It’s just an idea but anyways kudos to the whole Animal Team they made a banger 🔥💀
@@imnotakingimnotagodiam..ab9455definitely, the affair part was so unnecessary and just did not make any sense. Would've loved it if they showed more of bobby instead

SPOILER TALK: Not sure if this was obvious. When they say Bobby has identical twins in the climax. I immediately assumed, that the younger brother shown at the end is an identical twin of the Bobby. I somewhere wished they hadn't made an lookalike of Ranbir at the end and instead would have just been another Bobby Deol on the rise.
While watching the movie, I've noticed that sandeep reddy also tried to present a female point of view regarding relationship, if u remember rashmika's dialogue, " Main bhi kisi ke sath so jao phir aake sorry bolu then it's ohk" at that time i was thinking about the criticism that he faced during kabir singh for preeti's character for being a weakest protagonist as compared to male lead.
See, it's cinema and YES Cinema must be viewed for what it is. Every people in audience won't understand this and this is absolutely fine for any creator or actor. There's always a section of masses that can't grasp that it's just a film. BUT i felt disgusted sitting in the hall where men were laughing and reacting to the scenes not meant for such, even vanga wouldn't have liked the reaction. The bra strap, the cheating with Tripti initially... my friend and me were looking at each other with sheer DISGUST. Yes, we are men saying this. No one fucking cared about Rashmika's monologue. That is where Animal becomes problematic. It was disturbing to watch the AUDIENCE during those scenes. Yes, Vanga has no fault but c'mon he didn't know? The movie really doesn't thrive on invoking the toxicity from majority male audience? Why are so many foreigners finding it so problematic? FEMINISM BLAH BLAH...stop that.. it's just that our south asian mentality that's fueling these kind of ideas(not the movie). It'll collect hundreds of crores no matter what, NOTHING CHANGES FROM MY VIEW but it's not what responsible filmmakers do. And Vanga clearly stated he's not the one. Ultimately, your mind suffers, the majority of population suffers. Exceptional movie.......…'s first half.
Thanks for saying that. There are men who watch that and think women deserve that kind of treatment. Who think it's okay to abuse someone weaker then them and that includes women, children and animals. When a movie glorifies that behavior, cheers that behavior, normalizes such behavior it gives those men freedom to think the world is for theirs to take. Humans have a tendency to absorb these things. Film makers don't care. They flip a finger to responsible audience who find this problematic. Just because someone is in a position to make any kind of movie doesn't mean they can keep on making the garbage. And don't say audience 18+ and older know what's real and what's not blah blah. This is not Avengers movie for that audience to know Captain America is not possible and it's just fiction. However violence is very real. Men and women are equally subject to violence though they may be different types. How can the makers take such a cop out. Haven't watched the movie, not planning to I do worry though about how slowly a generation of population is being desensitized to violence against each other because of such content who top list actors are endorsing by acting in it.
The movie is such a blast! A son's descent into madness when his father is attacked by backstabbing family members. The interval action sequence is just as intense as the character of Ranvijay. The drama is powerful, where a son loves his father more than his father did. Talking about messaging in movies, when watching a "A" rated film the audience can make up their own mind.
For me what a movie essentially should be able to do is... transport us to another world for it's duration and make us forget our stressful life... and animal did that for me in the 3 and half hours I sat in the theatre... It was soo engaging... Agreed that some parts were really uncomfortable to watch but I could argue maybe that's what the makers we're going for... Giving viewers a new experience that they won't forget for a long long time using these kind of elements...
The crticsim of the movie is apt considering the kind of audience we have ! Whatever Manoj sir said is perfectly true for a developed nations as they will view & treat such kind of characters like kabir singh /Animal just like a movie itself unlike here in India where the easiest dopamine release for majority of misogynistic men of this country is violence & disrespect on woman ! Yes you can show complex characters, shades of grey but give us the character arc , their childhood, upbringing , family values , etc to show why these people are the way like this ! But no , majority of these kind of movies glorifies misogyny, herogiri , khoon - kharaaba, gunda gardi ! In a country like ours where bhaukaali behaviour is applauded rather than being a decent , sober & civilized society ,these kind of movies will surely do more harm than good in the long run ! Matlab say for instance in JOKER , people knew that the character JOAQUIN PHEONIX played, was mental , audience empathised with his character, understood his mental struggles , without taking inspiration from the violence he did in the movie because the audience was made aware why he is behaving the way he in the movie goes back to his mental problems , he skipped his medications ! Now that was an character arc ! That movie too was global box office hit ! But here everything is justified in the name of HEROGIRI ! Matlab box office success ke liye itna kya desperate hona that you start showing such toxic , larger than life, man- child characters as alpha man , and if you are showing , atleast let the audience know in some way that he or she has some problems, or they have skipped therapy or medications on time for their mental health problems & causing menace to society !😂
I know the movie isn't perfect BUT as a cinema fan! Boy.. This film did a number in everyone's head. I agreed with the technical aspect of your analysis Jammy but you gotta admit.. It was entertaining as hell. Also was surprised as you didn't cover the musical aspect of this film.. Like all the amazing and new music we got this season. Basically i found this movie to be breath of fresh air.. ❤

I felt initially that Tripti Dimri and her sequence was not required and unnecessary, but after thinking a little, I feel addressing that she is pregnant because Ranbir did not wear a condom, she will be pregnant with his son in ‘Animal Park’ which might become another Father-Son relation that can be explored? Your thoughts?
It might be possible that aziz uses that child to get control over ranvijay as his father is going to die, kids and wife left him and he will be in a dire need for love and warmth that Zoya and her child can provide
Even though the movie had it ups and downs. I enjoyed it because it still stayed up to it's name. My favorite moment was the hotel scene when Ranbir changes into an animal and chased babloo prithviraj across the corridor. That was truly an animal moment. Bravo Vanga 🔥
Yes and then Champak Chacha comes and says "Dekho beta hinsa bahut galat hai" & Ranbir immediately says" Sorry chachaji, aap ne to meri aankhen khol di" aur uske baad dono ne jam k sax kiya

A very balanced take on the film indeed. The second half slump was definitely frustrating given the high at which the first half ended. Had they stuck to Bobby Deol's character and his family's story in the second half, the movie would have been so much better. Even trying something on the lines of what was depicted in a movie like Black panther (where the cousin (Killmonger) returns to take revenge on the protagonist), it could have been a knockout movie through and through. A mixed bag indeed!!
As someone tweeted, ANIMAL was like peak RGV and present RGV directed it together. The first half was so so good and the second half was equally bad. It’s remarkable how contrasting both halves were. Like vanga had written the first half before the Kabir Singh debacle, then the interview with Anupama Chopra happened and he went home with a full bottle of whiskey and then wrote the second half😂 The father bond was never properly explored. Not at all. Almost as if taking the audience for granted. The film still has very brilliant moments though. So it was a very frustrating watch, looking at all the great potential being tossed out of the window for some cheap shots against critics.
2nd half was also good, the climax, the last father son dialogue (Epitome of Ranbir acting) The credit scene (Ranbir's Doppelganger's psychotic behaviour) Ranbir Rashmika scene after Ranbir cheating, Tripti scenes, Bobby Deol scenes. 2nd half was equally good.
The last scene after the "50timew changing pad" argument when Ranvijay 's son says he's his hero, or something like that. And the last scene when his boy runs towards him. It was chilling seeing this devotion in his son for him, cuz Ranvijay is becoming the kind of father like Balbir. Don't know how it was in US, but after they come to India, Vijay has been an absent father. Ranvijay is so focused on avenging his father that he's not even looking at his kids. So many unnecessary scenes and not one warm moment with Vijay and his son. And still the blind devotion of the kid...
I never understood why inspite of coming from a trauma childhood he was not shown spending enough time with his kids and breaking the chain right there.
You know what hurts the most? " The fact that Ranbir will disappear from public eye until his next release probably for 3-4 years🥲" He's the kind of star we should cherish every time he comes on the big screen. The Guts to say yes to a script like this and commit for a 2nd part.
It was reported that he'll be shooting in 2024 for Ramayan and that yt will release in 2025. Let's hope. Bramhastra 2 and 3 are going to release in 2026 and 2027, atleast those are the dates committed
The first half was terffic 🔥🔥 Even with its toxicity, misogyny.... It delivered well. One thing that separate animal from kabir singh is that kabir singh all the misogyny and toxic trait's of the character where established in the movie so naturally and there isn't anything forced in like animal does it in its second half... But when we look into movie's of Quintin Tarantino or martin scorces.. Or movies like rough night, sex and the city, mean girl or even the indian series like four more shots is ok.. Animal is also an ok ok movie... With flaws the idea of story telling differs from time to time..... ‼️‼️ As one said " every film is a propaganda "
The scene that threw me off most was the climax where he is kind enough to give a chance to his cousin to end the animosity but refuses to even call an ambulance to send the wife to a goddamn hospital as twin deliveries can lead to a lot of complications. None of Abrar's wives are connected to the attacks/animosity between the families.
They called ambulance when they revealed where he is . They knew they will tell because she is pregnant. He gave him chance if would not run behind his father
@@KrishanKumar-ec1ch it was clearly shown Ranvijay had no intention of calling the ambulance as he says that the 2 elder wives have given birth before and they can handle the delivery. It was his cousins who stood guard that sneakily called the ambulance and made sure to take them to hospital after Ranvijay left. He was able to give a chance to survive to his sworn enemy but not his wives and unborn children who are innocent. His journey towards the transformation of turning into an animal was superbly shown, however I felt being a violent hypocrite is not the only the only sign of being an animal.

I am not a critic. Just a simple viewer. I recognized from his "Kabir Singh" era that whatever Reddy Vanga is serving or will serve is not for me. I'm not his target audience. I don't know who he sees as his target audience. But I suspect a large portion of it comes from the most sadly deplorable parts of humanity. The success of this movie proves that. Peace. ✌️
I feel only two critics got the movie right..One is badradwaj rangan and other is RGV😂 "The film startles you many times and that could also be because of the so called slow pace and the long length criticised by many. But for me that’s what worked because the slow pace is what which determines the unexpectedness" - RGV
Ranbir was brilliant but Im not fully sold on the idea of the assassination attempt completely turning him into a psycho. There wasn’t enough of a punch to justify that mass murder. Also, the hallway action scene is presented brilliantly but could have been executed better. The villains henchmen were too weak
He was already a psycho to begin with and it was established in the school scene. That assassination attempt gave him the opportunity to unleash his inner animal
@@hijack69he was not a psycho. He became animal due to his obsession with his father but not a psycho. He is a good man ,good for all like mainstream commercial movie killing bad guys and there is a strong reason behind it

I believe the story of Swastik steels has been kept under wraps to explore more in ANIMALPARK. Also, Tripti's characters are build-up for ANIMALPARK. Sandeep doesn't want to shift the core focus from the father-son duo in this film.
I was getting hyper to see why Bobby deol hasn't entered the film yet the entry shot of Lord Bobby the song the way he acted all was epic but the most unsatisfied part was he was completely wasted 😢
I think that in a country like India where movies play a huge part in people's life this normalisation of toxic behaviour towards wives should not be done. It provides validation for others to do so. Crimes against women are rising and we are so insensitive that we are normalising these things on big screen in 21st century. Imagine a man who beats his wife comes to theatre watches a movie like this and feels he has done nothing wrong, he is the alpha male. It's high time we take responsibility as audience and actors take responsibility for what they're representing and directors for what they're showing.
Sharing my piece of mind on movie Animal. I saw this movie alone so got a lot of time to analysis it as no one to talk or crack jokes with. It’s just my POV might be not liked by others. Movie was shit. Entire story line was bogus. Violence was there. But if anyone have seen movie like SAW or Wrong turn then this is a ok types. Yes Ranbir Kapoor’s acting was awesome. He gave his heart n soul to this movie. Rashmika was so so. Anil Kapoor have zero dialogues. I have a problem with potray of characters. Husband like Ranvijay sucks. He as a human being was physic and abusive which needs serious medical attention. Father’s character was so illogical. We all had busy fathers. But he was not busy his character was aloof as if he doesn’t care what the fuck his son is doing or saying. N most problematic character was wife. Frankly speaking I felt like she was only concerned about S** . She doesn’t care her husband is going insane day by day or was insane since starting. He met her said few words n she was ready to go with him “ALFA MAN”. Her husband became gangster she was ok with it. Her husband cheated on her she was ok again. Yes she can forgive him it’s personal choice but her self respect was issue. That scene of roaming naked n father came n said don’t do this n his brother were firing guns n wife was mute. Another scene Ranbir fires gun in bed room father came n said only two dialogues n simply left n wife was kissing n having sex in next scene. I mean please who does that. N the confrontation between husband n wife she was more concerned that how many times he did sex with her with condom without condom did he kissed her. She was not concerned that he cheated on her their entire conversation was on sex n they next scene they are doing it. Is this a woman of any self respect??
The writing was so sloppy, I really did not give a damn about the final battle scene. Sure it was Bobby and Ranbir, but there was nothing for the audience to actually root for the protagonist anymore. We wanted more on Swastik, the family feud, the Bobby Deol backstory, and even the conspiracy against Balbir Singh. Instead we got a weird extra marital affair BS no one cared for.
IMO, Animal worked wonders for most of the audience, some might feel some scenes are disturbing slightly but most of them think that's the vision of Vanga & what he can achieve. This movie will continue doing big, Animal Park too will become a blast ! 🔥 RK as Aziz Haq will be a treat to watch. It will be damn interesting to see how RanVijay continues Swastik Company.
@@TriedRefusedProductionsit must dive deep within the backstory of Family else Animal park will literally just become a forced sequel so It must focus towards the family's story.
The only I think I learned is that this movie was a misogynistic galore. Technicality is great. Editing is great. Acting is great. But plot and writing screams Vanga wanted to do a movie as a fuck to the criticism of Kabir Singh. For all the feminists who had problems with Kabir Singh. So he made a even more misogynistic movie. If people like and watch this movie, it’s their freedom. But we cannot forget that this movie is everything what misogynistic men want in their life. Abuse their wife, cheat on them, and seeking validation for their daddy issues.
Watching the channel grow from 'Matlab Kuch Vi', where jammy used to criticize misogyny that occurred in Hindi movies, to him defending VANGA for the same is such a disappointing regression. Used to watch this channel for the honest reviews and to know about movies which were good but not known, but now it's just mainstream blockbusters where he only gives positive reviews.
A writer can write what he wants, why should he suppress his creativity and freedom of expression? It’s your personal responsibility to distinguish between fictional and reality. So it’s for you to think from your brains, stop blaming movies for your bad decision making
Younger people are impressionable and they absorb their surroundings. They dont just learn from their homes, their learn from their external environments and society as well. So when a good chunk of society Is selling the idea that being a vile, aggressive, toxic pig is cool and glamorous and packaged in a shiny and attractive wrapper, they will buy it. It's a cheap cop out excuse to say what you said when we are suffering from an entire generation of young people continuously becoming more detached and violent under these influence. These aren't isolated cases, it's like a pandemic. Hiding behind these excuses is cowardice.
Regarding the screen time, things felt unnecessary and forced in the second half because of the decision to craft an excellent interval block. The choice to make the perfect interval block leaves less substance with more time in the second half, and hence the movie slows down drastically. It's common to see movies of two halves nowadays where one half suffers because they had to make another more crisp and engaging. But never say never; Vanga might have plans to use certain aspects of the second half in further parts.
I don’t kno if anyone noticed but The movie is full of symbolism…the integration of swastik…Ranbir’s explanation about difference between swastik and nazi sign… Made in India…Atamanirbhar Bharat…the whole tabar gang and Arjan vally song…Abrar being a Muslim character (thy mention tht his grandfather father changed his religion) having 3 wives and molesting his wife aftr a barbaric killing…
Tbh this character of Ranvijay was not meant to be characters to be that much applauded for. I mean in the trailer, he did say that “When i come for seeking evil, I didn’t find it, then I looked within, there is no one more evil than me”, so just considering that line you can’t expect most good morale behavior coming from Ranvijay which makes sense.

See as someone like me who belongs from the field of literature and cultural studies, there are two ways to judge an art, the first is Art for Art's sake and the other is Art for man's sake, and yes not just movies or any art is a mirrror of society, art can also effect culture but that also doesnt apply everywhere, at the end if a movie is bad or good can be judged only on the basis of art, the representation is other thing which would be analysed and free to be crticised by all schools of crticism and theories, every art is a subject to different crticism, also there is not a universal way to judge a movie, taking art for art sake is a way you can describe if a movie is good or not as oscar wilde has said but it doesnt mean if any movie is good then it is also good for society, also representation is an important aspect as how something has been represented but that still is for latter, the first crticism says that judge without falling in any ideology.
Let's accept one thing Amir Khan movies are successful because of content but doesn't have box office pull like srk jawan and pathan both are below average but collected extraordinary numbers and now ranbir kapoor has started to give competition to the Khan's in this entire competition I feel ranveer singh is totally confused and shock
I think BGM is great. Action is good. Last father-son scene is so good reminds me of last scene of kabir singh But that Zoya scene feels so awkward and the reasoning is so flat. This same feelings I got when I watched Leo flashback. Establishment of Bobby deol is so epic. Spine chillin and the his ending I was like wtf. Kabir Singh is far greater as story.
I think despite being the most violent character Ranbir in animal is still less toxic and problematic than Kabir Singh. RK here has a purpose for his violent acts (revenge) and he is mostly softer with his friends, his affection with his father, and he is alslo aware about his flaws, after cheating his wife when she slaps him so many times he is aware that he fucked up. On the other side Kabir Singh was an unapologetically toxic man throughout the film. insulting and abusing his loved ones for no big reason. What do u think guys ? 🤔
For me, he was more tolerable than Kabir until he cheated on Gitanjali. Nothing made that behaviour okay and regardless of how vocal they made her in the film, she almost ends up staying, just like Preeti did with Kabir. That’s one of the issues with the messed up writing of both films. From his poor mother who always took his bs to his wife, showing all women characters as somehow forgiving.
I want Vanga to make a movie where the lead actor is a female. It should be about her trauma, toxicity, emotional absurdity in a justifiable way. I want violent female portrayals.
its important to point out Jammy's Animal obsession. He has made 7-8 videos on one film. lets count them 1. Pre teaser review. 2. Teaser review 3. Trailer review 4. Fan Theories 5. Pre release event 6. Can animal change game for Ranbir 7. Movie review 8. Spoiler talk I wonder which other film was given such a treatment. It's enough to say that he succeeded in creating a hype for the movie at least among his subscribers, which BTW is not the job description of a movie critic. Now such massive investment on his part makes me question his judgement and whether we can really see him as an unbiased critic for at least this movie.
Exactly. The glazing is crazy! If the movie had any other actor not named rk, srk and hrithik he'd make two videos and the second one will be a 2 hour long matlab kuch bhi video.

I don't know if I am the only one who felt through many scenes. Ranbir's looks appeared to be the ones resonating with Sanju, and all I could see were back-to-back Sanju frames in mind. It could have more dynamic looks. I know it's tricky as they have explored a wide variety of looks Sanju but still. Also, as Jammy discusses the points, I also agree on the use case of Tripti Dimri's character. She could have been better utilized or either removed. Also, another practical reaction as soon as the movie ended I had was this father-son duo needs therapy, heating, and discussions more than bloodshed and all the madness. But again that's what movies are for in their genres. 🤣
for me ...i want a extra scene in movie .... where rashmika goes with a gun and shoot tripti ...as he is in love with ranvj ..like he is obsessed with father...rashmika shooting tripti could be the best moment of the movie ❤
Agree with review. There was no need to get into rashmika and another girl story. There was lot of story with villains which is not explored. Shorter runtime and focus on main story would put it in sarkar territory.
Showcasing abusive characters and toxicity in films is not a wrong thing because such characters exist in our society but justifying there action as an heroic is the bad thing.

Agree with most of your plot fails…was especially annoyed by Zoya’s prolonged appearance and Bobby’s limited role. I hope it is connected to what Animal Park will explore, bringing Bobby back in extended flashback mode. Other than that, I am a female viewer and I am not at all pissed off at Vanga’s view on his female characters! The common thread between Preeti/Geetanjali is that they start out young and submissive, eventually becoming way stronger than the men they are with. The lead men start out alpha and regressive, then crumble under their own hubris! Is this a simplistic view of men and women in a relationship….definitely. But is it possible….absolutely. I especially like the focus on sexual chemistry in Vanga films and how that reflects in the conversation between the pair. That is a less explored reality in Indian cinema (especially Hindi movies) and kudos to Vanga for unabashedly portraying that reality. As a female viewer, do I want more female perspective movies…for sure…but why do fabulous movies like AIYYA not do well AS YET? The time will come, but for now, I’m content enjoying whatever little nuance to relationships, movies like Animal bring!

Dude watch this movie with a theater full of cheap local boys with hooting and cheering and vile comments during the "woman" "sex" "period takes" and other misogyny happening on screen. You will understand the critics. I was the most excited in my group to watch Animal in a theater. Regret the experience. Your skin will crawl knowing the sort of community you live in. The main gripe for me, I went into the theaters looking for an A rated action film [btw the blood-shed violence in this movie is NOTHING compared to other actual violence Ive seen in other films] that mainly focused on a beautiful father-son relationship. Totally derailing and off target this was. Such huge potential wasted in giving "critics an answer." These fools take the "contradictions in Character" as planned but this is Just Vanga putting just the right amount of "progressive attitudes" that confuses them😂
The film wasn’t as great as I hope. The main thing for me was that the father son relationship was hardly really explored. It was present only at the start and finish of the movie. Ranbir plays the most vile protagonist ever and you don’t feel any empathy for him.

Thank god the music was actually unnecessary while axing ppl it was so immature
There wasn’t even that much violence, what are you talking about? There are literally only 3 fight sequences in the film
Good point 👍
Which Tarantino movie have you watched. There is always violence without conviction in his movies.
Vanga having a simple conversation with a therapist would have solved everything!!

Don't know why I read vagina. I am loosing my mind watching his movies.
Yep
Not everything has to go according to your views if you didn't like the movie its alright don't go around preaching
Exactly vanga sir needs a good counselling session.
You are bang on about the focus being all over the place

You are right. There is no villain and no hero in this movie. Both are animals. We are just watching the story from the angle of Ranvijay that's all.

Exact Mirror Image of each other....

Even if someone is not a feminist, one can agree without an iota of doubt that the movie is deeply problematic.
Nothing problematic in the film
As his father will die soon, they could explore his relation with his son in the sequel

If you don't speak them? How do you know it's authentic?
Animal would have been such a Great film if it would ended after 1st half.
I think Vanga left it vague tho in terms of his family leaving him.

Perfect description.
Agreed. The key is the difference between showing violent people and glorifying violent people
3 things that would have elevated the screenplay and made the movie work for me personally

What's your rating to this movie.
@@RajuAhmed-sy7ysSikh affair was fun . Abrar was toxic , abusive towards his wife. His being muslim is needed for having multiple wives
Ranbir's acting was amazing !!
In 2nd half -
Minimiza zoya's role
Maximize Bobby's role ,
10-15 min. Can be deducted.
Overall loved it🎉
Vanga just shortchanged Bobby's character in this movie.
Haven't watched the movie, not planning to
I do worry though about how slowly a generation of population is being desensitized to violence against each other because of such content who top list actors are endorsing by acting in it.

Like vanga had written the first half before the Kabir Singh debacle, then the interview with Anupama Chopra happened and he went home with a full bottle of whiskey and then wrote the second half😂
The father bond was never properly explored. Not at all. Almost as if taking the audience for granted.
The film still has very brilliant moments though. So it was a very frustrating watch, looking at all the great potential being tossed out of the window for some cheap shots against critics.

I guess the father son relationship was already explored enough what else do you need ? And for a single moment I didn't find it frustrating at all
The last scene after the "50timew changing pad" argument when Ranvijay 's son says he's his hero, or something like that.

Even with its toxicity, misogyny.... ‼️‼️
As one said " every film is a propaganda "
What about vice versa glorifying toxic feminism
I’m happy that you noticed that “you are in it for money”thing
His eyes said it everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The writing was so sloppy, I really did not give a damn about the final battle scene. Sure it was Bobby and Ranbir, but there was nothing for the audience to actually root for the protagonist anymore. We wanted more on Swastik, the family feud, the Bobby Deol backstory, and even the conspiracy against Balbir Singh. Instead we got a weird extra marital affair BS no one cared for.
IMO, Animal worked wonders for most of the audience, some might feel some scenes are disturbing slightly but most of them think that's the vision of Vanga & what he can achieve.

When the magic wears off, everyone will realise Animal lacks a good script. Period.

Even the girl isn't meek as Preeti. She does hv voice and do slap backs the maniac Ranbir
Her accepting him after cheating is the theme that it's bad
For me, he was more tolerable than Kabir until he cheated on Gitanjali. Nothing made that behaviour okay and regardless of how vocal they made her in the film, she almost ends up staying, just like Preeti did with Kabir. That’s one of the issues with the messed up writing of both films. From his poor mother who always took his bs to his wife, showing all women characters as somehow forgiving.
