That is a good shot but for a game but in real Since May 2017, one Canadian soldier has held the distinction of the longest confirmed kill in military history. The 3,450-meter shot - 3,870 yards - shattered the 2009 record by British sniper Craig Harrison by nearly 1,000 meters.
That is not directly comparable. Besides that you are comparing modern rifle to ww2. The game has exaggerated bullet drop and wind effect to account for the shorter distances. Otherwise the maps would have to be so large they would no longer be fun. In real life a 600 meter shot is barely long enough to have any effect. In a real life, modern scenario the sniper would have a partner taking readings and a high zoom scope. Then adjust accordingly to put the crosshairs on target

Next time can you tell them to up the difficulty for Authentic??.. Starting with random enemy spawns and item locations so people dont just memorise the map.. all objectives being compulsary, and no bullet drop guide when ads 😊😊
500 meters on that map is good. There is no indication at all that there is an enemy on that far away tower. It's only an assumption after climbing the abbey and finding the sniper rifle that there would be something to shoot far away. I didn't even notice it on my first play through.

Thank you. I have tried that before (if you mean the area where an enemy sniper hangs about) and yet when I shoot the enemy at the far away tower, I get hit markers, but no kills. Is there a video showing if this is possible?
I think for the enemy to spawn up there, you need to trigger it by going to the top of the abbey. I'm not 100% sure as I always go up there to grab the sniper rifle first.

The rifle I use is the one found next to the window at the highest floor of the Abbey. It's labelled as "Powerful M.1903". Since I play this on Authentic Difficulty, it has a 10 x Authentic Zoom. When I found the sniper rifle in top floor of the Abbey, I figured it was there for a reason. Then I came across the target all the way in that tower. Later on, I found out it's possible to shoot them from even further than the Abbey.
I was going to ask if it's possible using iron sights until I saw your comment. Iron sights would make this shot near impossible- i've done the long shot on Authentic Difficulty but am quite curious if anyone has done it using Iron Sights!
@@jasonhawcroft9953 Technically speaking all you should have to do is aim the iron sights at the same spot as you would normally. The question of possibility is whether or not the game is gonna even let the enemy render to hit, unless you had a scope on them in the first place. Using only iron sights at that range could be a game mechanic limit. But hey, there is infinite tries. So someone should be able figure that out.
IV got the shot but can be longer if you go to the beach house the shot becomes 2000 something but Everytime I get my aim perfect the rectal jumps while the scope is adjusted out to 1500
May I ask what rifle and sight did you used for this shot? Myself I’m using a Moisin-Nagant M91/30 customised with - M84 sight, Extended Marksman barrel; MK II-S Suppressor; Standard Mag: Leather Pad stock; Thin Grip Tape foregrip: and Short Travel Trigger. My loadout can only shoot one eighth of the distance your kit does. Also, for me the sight only goes up to 500 metres. Not 1500. I certainly cannot shoot anything way off the map where that chap is.
I'm using the Sniper Rifle found next to the window at the very top of the Abbey. It's a M.1903 rifle, and even though it says the scope is 10x Authentic zoom, I feel it is slightly higher. When I try using my own M.1903 with the A2 Optical which is also a 10x Authentic zoom, it doesn't appear to have the same zoom effect. And no other rifle in the game has a 10x Authentic zoom. It feels quite impossible to make the long range kill with your own loadout. I had to rely on the rifle I found next to the window.

I only hope the RSI I have developed in my left thumb through pressing and holding R3 gets better. :-) Regarding the M.1903, my game shows the max zoom as 16x. That might explain why you feel it is slightly higher mag. I must have unlocked this scope along the way because I’m sure it wasn’t available to me earlier on.
Thanks for watching the videos. I appreciate it. I think the M.1903 has max zoom at 16x if the game difficulty is not Authentic. On Authentic mode it is 10x. That's if I remember it correctly. Been using it for so long, I don't really look at the stats anymore. I too am hoping for more to come in the Sniper Elite series. I was wanting more content for Sniper Elite 5, but now I don't know what the plan is.
I haven unlocked all the ammo tyoes yet just started out, however do you unlock, a round for suppressed weaponns that aren't subsonic but still work well with the suppresor with out loosing volocity?
I think nearly all suppressors will reduce bullet velocity, but you can try using a Match round or a Soft Point round that has increased power to make up for it. But with the M.1903 rifle, it has the Moore suppressor which weirdly increases power when attached. I'm not sure how that works, but that's what I prefer to use.
Do you mean the crosshair when looking over the shoulder or looking through the sniper scope? Either way I don't think I've seen a setting to hide in the the options.
For this epic long shot, it's hard to tell if the indicator was aligned exactly. What I tend to do here is to aim until I see the indicator move slightly to indicate it will hit the target. It sort of has a magnetic effect when it knows it should hit the target.

I've been trying to make this shot but I'm not sure I have a rifle powerful enough? The little white aiming off lines are off the screen. Is there a specific loadout or settings requirement?
The sniper rifle I used is the one found next to the window at the top of the abbey. What I first did was to clear the path from the abbey to the sniping location of all enemies, and then went back to the abbey to grab the sniper rifle. There is also another location on the map to get a 1937 meter kill, which I made a video of. It might be easier to make the shot from there instead. That's strange. I think he needs to spawn after you trigger something. Possibly need to go to the top of the abbey where the sniper rifle is. Otherwise I'm not sure what is causing the problem.
A lot of practice and a lot of trial and error. The other video in the description may help. I explained I relied on the white markers on the top and right of the crosshair to get the shot.
There are 3 ladders you need to climb to reach it. First is in the area just outside the meeting room where an officer walks around. Second is in a smaller room where you can see and overhear what is happening in the meeting room. Third ladder is in an attic where it looks like someone resides. Once you climb that, you will be in the highest point in the Abby and the Sniper Rifle is near the window. I hope that helps.

The mission 1 long shot is a difficult shot in it's own right. Well done for achieving that. The extreme long shot in mission 3 is really difficult. I will line up the shot, and take note of where scope lines are in relation to the background, say a tree or building. If I miss the shot, I will line up the shot in the exact same position, and then adjust slightly based on how I miss. Not sure if this will help you, but that's what I do to make the shot.
How do you get him to show up? I sat there for about 5 min and he never stepped up to the edge. They didn't get rid of him in the last update did they?
I don't think there has been any change to the enemy up there in the last update. He is very hard to see from that distance to be honest. All I see is basically a pixel when he moves left and right. I would recommend if you can spot him while you are at the highest point in the abbey (where you get the powerful M.1903 rifle from) to make sure he has spawned on the map. If he isn't there, all I can think of is to quit the mission and start again (I know sometimes restarting a level can cause some enemies to not respawn correctly). Good luck.
I believe you have to go to the Abbey for him to spawn. Not sure if you have to go all the way to the top of the Abbey, but I went up there to grab the Powerful M.1903 which I used to take him out.
I have been an everyday player of the Sniper Elite Series, I played V2(the original not remastered)everyday until SE3 played that everyday until SE4 came out and continued to play SE4 for the next 5 or 6 years until SE5 finally dropped. I gotta say, Rebellion Devs should be ashamed of themselves. SE5 Campaign was ok but nothing compared to the Hype they made it out to be and Online Multiplayer is a complete Joke. No Cross Mode has only 3 Maps when there is 6 total maps overall. I lost complete faith in Rebellion when they done this, especially when they took So Many people's Pre-Order Money just to release it for Free on Game Pass. Did they tell all of us they had plans on releasing it on Game Pass? No they said nothing and remained quiet. Sniper Elite 4 was Rebellions last Legendary Game... Trying to make SE5 like an off brand CoD game and now they will pay for it, which SE5 has almost lost all it's player base already. Just makes me so aggravated only because I love Sniper Elite so much and hated to see it end, and it is, Rebellion sealed their fate when they pulled what they did on Game Pass
Amen! I pre-ordered 5 and sold it after I beat it. I still play 4 regularly but never played the others, I am thinking of picking up 3. The maps in 5 felt empty and boring, there is no Authentic Plus, the AI seemed worse, it didn't feel as polished, less wind and worse sniping, no target range, I could go on and on. Each map in 4 feels like a work of art, each map in 5 felt like a boring field, or some compound they wanted me to go Call of Duty on.
That's great! I was like that when I first started. And then I found out about the long shots in each mission, and that was exciting figuring them out.
I'm not sure what you mean, but according to the pop up display on the bottom right of the screen, the Powerful M.1903 sniper rifle I pick up has a 10x Authentic Zoom.

At that distance, I'm looking at the change in the pixels on the screen. After a while you can work out where the enemy stops and pauses for a bit. That's when I take the shot.
I don't think the game really teaches how to do it, but it kind of shows you. If you play on a difficulty lower than Authentic, when you hold your breath to snipe it shows how the bullet lines up with the top and right white markers on the scope to account for wind and bullet drop. That's probably the way I learned how to do long shots. I hope that helps.

The sniper rifle I used has the highest zoom in Authentic difficulty. It's near impossible to use a different scope in Authentic difficulty and make the shot. If you complete this on a lower difficulty, I think they allow you to zoom in like 20 times. So I can see how this sniper rifle does appear to have a short range scope.
You can do it on any difficulty you choose. But to get the Authentic Long Shot Gold Medal it has to be in Authentic Difficulty. But the long shot only has to be over 675 meters.

I would say take your time before engaging enemies. Look around and see what are the possible outcomes of your actions. Be aware of who is around you when you do shoot. Are they within hearing range of you? I try to limit the noise I make when I play. It's easier that way. Though probably the best way to get better is to just play and learn from your mistakes. If something didn't work the first time, try a different approach. I hope that helps.
@@DazAction Possible, yes. Easy, no. You have to use the rifle you find in the tower though. I spent ages trying with my own M.1903 with maxed out muzzle velocity and match ammo. No luck. The bullet drop marker is off the bottom of the visible portion of the scope, so aiming accurately is impossible. The rifle you find seems to be tricked out to have extra muzzle velocity that's impossible on any of your own rifles.
That's very strange as he is always there when I play that mission. Try reloading the mission from the main menu as sometimes I've found enemies may not spawn if you restart the mission from the pause menu. Besides that, I'm not sure. Good luck.
If you are having trouble getting the shot from this location, try the alternate location in this video for the same distance. Remember what I did first was to take out all the enemies between the abbey and the location of the shot before I grab the sniper rifle from the top of the abbey. If you got the time, Authentic difficulty isn't too bad. I had to practice a few times of lining up the shot precisely for it to work. But even if you got the kill on Hard, that's good as well.

The crazy thing for me is how the game engine can render such a far away enemy to be still a bit visible and be killed. Nice gameplay!
Imagine getting shot by an unsilenced weapon, but it's so far away that you can't hear the gun go off...
If it killed you in the first bullet (headshot) you wouldn't hear it go off anyway.
I think at that distance and in such an open area, the sound would just be drowned out by the wind.

You can go back up onto the path above it and get that shot a little further back, you have to go prone or crouch to do it.

What was your setup? Gun? Scope? Ammo? Every time I zoom in (16x) the adjusted aim point is WAY below what I can see in my scope.

The shot is even longer if you go up the stairs to the city wall.
There is distance limit for the bullet to kill. Even if shot further than 1937m, the bullet will only get a hit marker, but not kill.

How to get the 1500x range scope? I only find 800 max in my game
The sniper rifle at the top of the abbey has that scope, but you only get 3 rounds with it.

am not rlly that gud at sniper elite 5 so i dont rlly know the mechanics but the bullet drop indicator was not alined?
For this epic long shot, it's hard to tell if the indicator was aligned exactly.
What I tend to do here is to aim until I see the indicator move slightly to indicate it will hit the target. It sort of has a magnetic effect when it knows it should hit the target.
I don't believe this shot is repeatable. After I shot him, he never seems to be there again. Can anyone else confirm this?
Do you mean never again if you restart the mission? I've killed him multiple times on different play throughs.

Have you visited the Abby each time? I always go up there to get the sniper rifle to shoot the enemy. I think you need to otherwise he won't spawn.

This sniper rifle is the M.1903 found on the top floor of the Abbey of the same mission. It has a higher zoom than what you can normally start with, so makes it easily to see the target.

I've been trying to make this shot but I'm not sure I have a rifle powerful enough? The little white aiming off lines are off the screen. Is there a specific loadout or settings requirement?
The sniper rifle I used is the one found next to the window at the top of the abbey.
What I first did was to clear the path from the abbey to the sniping location of all enemies, and then went back to the abbey to grab the sniper rifle.
There is also another location on the map to get a 1937 meter kill, which I made a video of. It might be easier to make the shot from there instead.

That's strange. I think he needs to spawn after you trigger something. Possibly need to go to the top of the abbey where the sniper rifle is. Otherwise I'm not sure what is causing the problem.
Man how do you do the shit without relying on the assistive red crosshairs slow down ?
A lot of practice and a lot of trial and error.
The other video in the description may help. I explained I relied on the white markers on the top and right of the crosshair to get the shot.

I went searching around they abbey for that sniper rifle and could not find it. Where is it?
There are 3 ladders you need to climb to reach it. First is in the area just outside the meeting room where an officer walks around. Second is in a smaller room where you can see and overhear what is happening in the meeting room. Third ladder is in an attic where it looks like someone resides. Once you climb that, you will be in the highest point in the Abby and the Sniper Rifle is near the window.

I don't know how you make it look so easy. I've been trying that shot for days to get the long shot authentic metal and I cannot do it...

@@DazAction Ya I see that and I "get it". I'm just not good enough lol My longest on Authentic so far is 700 meters on mission 1, the guy in the window.
The mission 1 long shot is a difficult shot in it's own right. Well done for achieving that.
The extreme long shot in mission 3 is really difficult. I will line up the shot, and take note of where scope lines are in relation to the background, say a tree or building. If I miss the shot, I will line up the shot in the exact same position, and then adjust slightly based on how I miss. Not sure if this will help you, but that's what I do to make the shot.

How do you get him to show up? I sat there for about 5 min and he never stepped up to the edge. They didn't get rid of him in the last update did they?
I don't think there has been any change to the enemy up there in the last update. He is very hard to see from that distance to be honest. All I see is basically a pixel when he moves left and right.
I would recommend if you can spot him while you are at the highest point in the abbey (where you get the powerful M.1903 rifle from) to make sure he has spawned on the map. If he isn't there, all I can think of is to quit the mission and start again (I know sometimes restarting a level can cause some enemies to not respawn correctly).

When aiming down the sight, it's the Q and E keys on PC. I'm not sure about console. I'm sure the control settings will have it there.

I believe you have to go to the Abbey for him to spawn. Not sure if you have to go all the way to the top of the Abbey, but I went up there to grab the Powerful M.1903 which I used to take him out.

I have been an everyday player of the Sniper Elite Series, I played V2(the original not remastered)everyday until SE3 played that everyday until SE4 came out and continued to play SE4 for the next 5 or 6 years until SE5 finally dropped. I gotta say, Rebellion Devs should be ashamed of themselves. SE5 Campaign was ok but nothing compared to the Hype they made it out to be and Online Multiplayer is a complete Joke. No Cross Mode has only 3 Maps when there is 6 total maps overall. I lost complete faith in Rebellion when they done this, especially when they took So Many people's Pre-Order Money just to release it for Free on Game Pass. Did they tell all of us they had plans on releasing it on Game Pass? No they said nothing and remained quiet. Sniper Elite 4 was Rebellions last Legendary Game... Trying to make SE5 like an off brand CoD game and now they will pay for it, which SE5 has almost lost all it's player base already. Just makes me so aggravated only because I love Sniper Elite so much and hated to see it end, and it is, Rebellion sealed their fate when they pulled what they did on Game Pass
Amen! I pre-ordered 5 and sold it after I beat it. I still play 4 regularly but never played the others, I am thinking of picking up 3. The maps in 5 felt empty and boring, there is no Authentic Plus, the AI seemed worse, it didn't feel as polished, less wind and worse sniping, no target range, I could go on and on. Each map in 4 feels like a work of art, each map in 5 felt like a boring field, or some compound they wanted me to go Call of Duty on.
I did 250m yesterday and was like woohoo! LOL
That's great! I was like that when I first started. And then I found out about the long shots in each mission, and that was exciting figuring them out.

I'm not sure what you mean, but according to the pop up display on the bottom right of the screen, the Powerful M.1903 sniper rifle I pick up has a 10x Authentic Zoom.

How do you see the target?
At that distance, I'm looking at the change in the pixels on the screen. After a while you can work out where the enemy stops and pauses for a bit. That's when I take the shot.

I don't think the game really teaches how to do it, but it kind of shows you.
If you play on a difficulty lower than Authentic, when you hold your breath to snipe it shows how the bullet lines up with the top and right white markers on the scope to account for wind and bullet drop. That's probably the way I learned how to do long shots.

Why would you use a short range scope for this that makes no sense
The sniper rifle I used has the highest zoom in Authentic difficulty. It's near impossible to use a different scope in Authentic difficulty and make the shot.
If you complete this on a lower difficulty, I think they allow you to zoom in like 20 times. So I can see how this sniper rifle does appear to have a short range scope.

This sniper rifle has a 10x Authentic Zoom.

You can do it on any difficulty you choose.
But to get the Authentic Long Shot Gold Medal it has to be in Authentic Difficulty. But the long shot only has to be over 675 meters.

I would say take your time before engaging enemies. Look around and see what are the possible outcomes of your actions. Be aware of who is around you when you do shoot. Are they within hearing range of you? I try to limit the noise I make when I play. It's easier that way.
Though probably the best way to get better is to just play and learn from your mistakes. If something didn't work the first time, try a different approach.

You have to use the rifle you find in the tower though. I spent ages trying with my own M.1903 with maxed out muzzle velocity and match ammo. No luck. The bullet drop marker is off the bottom of the visible portion of the scope, so aiming accurately is impossible.
The rifle you find seems to be tricked out to have extra muzzle velocity that's impossible on any of your own rifles.

That's very strange as he is always there when I play that mission. Try reloading the mission from the main menu as sometimes I've found enemies may not spawn if you restart the mission from the pause menu. Besides that, I'm not sure. Good luck.

If you are having trouble getting the shot from this location, try the alternate location in this video for the same distance. Remember what I did first was to take out all the enemies between the abbey and the location of the shot before I grab the sniper rifle from the top of the abbey. Makes it easier to than having to deal with the enemies while trying to carry that rifle at the same time. Here is the video:

If you got the time, Authentic difficulty isn't too bad. I had to practice a few times of lining up the shot precisely for it to work.
But even if you got the kill on Hard, that's good as well.
1937 meters? in the second world war, there was no rifle that was lethal at that distance 🤪
