One thing to note is that while you cannot swap difficulties to get credit for completing a mission on authentic, this is very much possible for the authentic long shot achievements. Simply start the level on easy, get yourselves in position, change difficulty to authentic and take the shot (or 10 or 100 ... this one isn't too difficult but some of those are seriously difficult where you have obstructed targets from 800+m away). Personally I think it's valid as you do end up doing the actual deed on authentic ... other than when it was possible to play right up to the extraction point on easy and then change to authentic in order to get credit for an authentic level completion ... got patched out very quickly.
thanks for this. I didn't kill all the guards in the exact place you did, but I stealthily killed them all thanks to this video telling me when they would be where. I have never done so many stealth melee kills on authentic before.

Same spot I got mine from, but got lucky with shot, was a little off, was using the rifle with the builds in silencer and bounced the bullet off the ground in front of him and shot his leg off. Edit: it was the D.L. Carbine
and... DONE! That's all of the long shots. Then I tried to do the piano kill but the game glitched and the bad Austrian man and his mates wouldn't get out of the car. I ended up forcing them to by throwing bottles near them but then he just went and stayed in his panic room. Has happened twice so far. Weird.

It’s kind of cheating and I don’t think it’s necessary but this was possible in SE4 as well.
You could (prob still can) change difficulty during the kill cam - but that is not kosher!
Its definitely doable on authentic from start to finish, just a lot of focus needs to be put on stealth, and for the long shots, just practice

A2 Optical scope, and also the Moore-1 Suppressor.
