Got to see Ariel play this summer. It was a part of a free concert series, so there were kids running around, some people who were just getting out of the house, and he had some issues with his main amp. All the being said, I felt like I was receiving a private show, and he just absolutely killed. You have to give credit to the artists that are carrying their own gear, work their own merch table, riding in a van from town to town, the real hard work that goes into having a career in music. Lots of respect for the man.
He is absolutely incredible. WTF is wrong when this guy is not the highest selling artist today? Trying not to be the old guy shitting on modern pop.. But wtf. He's not holding onto 40 yr old sounds and conventions. Its fresh!
Great song and performance at the end there Ariel. I've been playing for 35 years, many of those professionally when I was younger and I don't often enjoy a singer/songwriter these days, but that was mint. Good luck for the future my friend. 😉
The Captain has become so good at this. Asking the right questions, switching between gear geeking and proper music discussions and, more than anything, letting the guest speak. And Ariel.... what more is there to say?
Just wanna say I love the new improved frame rate. People in film and media often disagree with shooting video in anything but 24fps, but I always find for interviews, instructional videos, etc it's always better to have 50-60fps.
Thanks for this, Cap & crew. I'm driving out to Austin in December to catch Ariel for the first time & every vid like this adds to my excitement. No doubt by the day of the show I'll be in full fanboy mode. Cheers!
33:00 "Hearts, hearts were meant to break. That's just what they do when they don't always get their way." That might be one of the best lyrics I've heard in a very long time.
Great meeting guys, and a guitar sound to die for! That song! . . . and the line "Time's a friend you can't replace . . ." magic! Thanks Ariel, love your music.
I've always enjoyed Ariel and Pete's jams when demoing guitars. I've been watching Anderton's channel so long I don't really hear the accents anymore, and always thought Ariel was another English dude who happens to play really great guitar. I had no idea he was from Winnipeg, just found that out this evening. Too bad I can't make it to his show in Saskatoon Nov 7th.
I get what you’re saying but I think even Ariel himself would say that that title probably belongs to Blake Mills! With Derek Trucks being this generation’s Duane Allman.
Got to see him live and get an LP signed when he came to LA earlier in the year. Incredible artist, and a genuine, classy dude! P.S., big agree on the shout out to Yebba's Dawn. It is unbelievable. Check it out if you haven't already, kids!
Probably does sound different but not in the tonewood vs other tonewood kind of way but more of a wood vs metal kind of way (the way it changes the magnetic fields of the pickups for example). If those plastic vs aluminium pickguard videos are anything to go by, it should lead to more bass and less high end, apparently because of Eddy currents
baritone?capo dastro as a muffler?just found out theres a finger toppy half slide! if one demoed, it certainly could be Ariel! Capt Ahoy!keeping the ship on course!😎😎
is Ariel not touring with the brothers Landreth? I have tickets to see them here on the 24th and I was hoping to see Ariel playing with them? I'll be bummed if he's not!
He’s not been with them for about 2 years, unfortunately. The Bros Landreth went on hiatus after an endless tour in 2019, then Covid hit, and all tours stopped anyway, Ariel had already moved to Ireland, and he launched a solo recording and (latterly) touring career. I believe he’s based back in N America these days - I forget where!
Interesting, that Dajngo Reinhard lick absolutely ewokes Tony Iommi vibes in me. (NIB solo, Sympthom of the univers breakdown, etc) I dont know much about Django, but the rumors, that Tony used to listen to lot of Django, when rehabing from his accident seems more then true.

MISSED YOU GUYS!

Definitely one of the best players out there today. His tone and feel is fantastic!
Incredible episode! Was awesome to meet Ariel last week ❤🎛 Ariel makes that Fuzz sound HUGE 🔥
Incredible Ariel Posen, he was amazing at the Flowerpot in Derby last week
The intro jam is so beautiful, and the harmonic note slide followed by the chordal riff is one the most beautiful thing in while.
I saw Ariel perform in Nijmegen, the Netherlands this week. Great performance! One of my favourite players of all time😁
Just wanna say I love the new improved frame rate. People in film and media often disagree with shooting video in anything but 24fps, but I always find for interviews, instructional videos, etc it's always better to have 50-60fps.
I was not ready for his voice. Great tone and amazing intonation. I'd never heard of him before this episode but I'll definitely investigate further.
If I may, you should definitely check his verson of John Martyn's Angeline.
God damn I didn't realised how much I'd missed watching Areil play. He's sooo good. Sounds incredible 🤘
This has made my Friday. Thanks for putting this up so quickly after filming. Hurrah!!!
I was so lucky to have been at the show! It was absolutely incredible!!!! Thank you so much Ariel for being awesome!
Thanks for this, Cap & crew. I'm driving out to Austin in December to catch Ariel for the first time & every vid like this adds to my excitement. No doubt by the day of the show I'll be in full fanboy mode. Cheers!
Going to see him in cologne next Tuesday. Can’t wait 😁😁😁
I was lucky enough to watch Ariel in London last week and he was incredible! Such a unique player and great to see him back on here again.
Awesome performance at the end. That downtown ep is my vibe right now.

About time, always a blast to see Ariel with you,he’s very funny, chill and very very talented, one of my favs for sure
Ariel is a monster! And I mean that in the most complimentary way. Such a creative approach, a completely unique sound and feel, and truly inspiring.
One of the most tasteful and good guy guitarists ever! Lovely to see Ariel again.
I saw Ariel at Berklee in Boston. Amazing show!
Great to see Ariel back on the channel guys
welcome back Ariel missed you since the guitar paradiso days...abosultely immense guitar player in my book : )
Such a good singer!
Ariel is such a unique player. I wish he would feature his playing more in his records
Ariel, truly a great! Thanks for the upload.
That guitar he’s playing is one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve seen. Sounds great as always and a nice video.
Ariel is just so dang cool
I've missed him!!! Great episode 🙂
Hooray for Ariel !
I was at the Bristol gig on Monday. Great show!
The clock on his pedal board was five hours slow though! Must have been left on Montreal time.
Any time Ariel is on it makes my day!
That Django riff reminds me of something I heard Ariel and Andy Wood do at NAMM. Jamming together. Just soooo good.
I went and seen Ariel in Toronto with my buddy Matt, Ariel was great but the guy who opened for him was a legend ( Ivan Gabriel )..
Awesome!!! Great interview with a great musician!!! :)
He even sings oh my gosh, he is a boss. He plays marvelous, and he can sing cery well.
Always great to see a Winnipegger on the big stage
Guildford was special, man. Stratospheric.
I want that clip of The Captain playing the lick. I was expecting it to pop up right at the end. 😂

Beautiful!
Made me miss the good ol' days when Ariel was hosting on Anderton's and Mick was here too.
So good.
Love this
Saw the Guildford show, it was electric
I've not listened to Bros Landreth - any suggestions where to start?
Funny that he mentions Lizzy McAlpine. She seems to be the favorite of a bunch of artists and producers right now.
I like that blue guitar he is playing
Loooong have I waited
Truly amazing player. Ry Cooder for a new generation of players.
I get what you’re saying but I think even Ariel himself would say that that title probably belongs to Blake Mills! With Derek Trucks being this generation’s Duane Allman.

I hope you guys filmed a jam from the Canadian Danish Duo while he was there...
The best songwriter in the world!
I know the truth.
Ariel is so great slide guitarist in this world.
I don't know how he got the skill.
He is so amaging.
World should know about him‼️
he is amazing
Love him. Sad when he moved on from the Anderton's team.
Best guitar player in the world
Wooo!!!

See you in 5 hours in Rotterdam!
That pizza lick sounds very godfathery in the beginning
I’m waiting for the captain’s
All time top 20 guitars that he likes!
Captain, what are you playing? Guitar?
baritone?capo dastro as a muffler?just found out theres a finger toppy half slide! if one demoed, it certainly could be Ariel! Capt Ahoy!keeping the ship on course!😎😎
soo cool to slow down Django R. style...
Something… Amazing.

Are you guys using a new camera?
I'm more interested in that tele Pete is playing!
Ariel doesn't play in Bros Landreth anymore?
I can't help but wish you had asked Ariel what string gauges he's using to keep his 25.5" scale guitar from feeling too floppy when tuned down to B.
I think it's 17-60 or somewhere in that neighborhood.
17-20-30-40-52-64
With a wound g string keep in mind that the action is a bit higher for efficient slide playing 👍🏻
17s. Watch his video with string joy
The Pizza lick reminds me of - 'Nicole - Papa.'
What tuning is he playing in?
Finally, a pizza lick tutorial!!!!! 🤘🏽 🍕
Yay, he did the thing! 🍕👅
Is it me, or is then ratio Canada:USA in overseas musicians/youtubers etc growing?
Bro, why are you hiding the grey hair?
Interesting, that Dajngo Reinhard lick absolutely ewokes Tony Iommi vibes in me. (NIB solo, Sympthom of the univers breakdown, etc)

the frame rate on this what the
LIZZY MCALPINE SHOUT OUT
Such ridiculous good tone.
Ariel Pozzo?**
I call it “ananas i egen juice”.
Got to see this guy in my mom's bedroom, he FUCKS! You can really binge Posen music for weeks
30:10
Wtf captain? They’re made of steel, not aluminium.
