Spot lock isn't the only thing with the newer trolling motors. The ghost and force are also brushless motors so battery life and power are much better then a brushed motor like the ultrex and the fortrex.
I just wanted to thank you for your videos on the XF189. They were instrumental in my research on the boat. I live in California and could not buy it here do to Crestliner supply chain issues. I drove it Missouri to get after I bought it sight unseen over the phone. I actually switched from an old “18” foot (17’6”) Javelin renegade. Could not be happier. Great boat other then speed and ride. It fishes great. Front deck and rod locker were main reasons for buying. Deck is probably triple what I’m used to fishing from. I have some mobility issues due to a knee replacement that isn’t perfect but made my day so much easier. I have a 150 pro xs. Turning a 21p tempest. I run heavy with an Ultrex, mega live & 360 with helix 12&9 on bow and 2 12’ talons on rear. I’m hitting 52 mph with 2 people but I’m still playing with my jack plate. 5800ish RPM. Thanks again.
Almost identical to my old white 2018 Lowe stinger 188, was a great boat for shallow lakes, Very stable and just a huge deck front and back, you gonna love the space, 👌👌🔥🔥🔥
I really like your rig! It goes to show that manufacturers make all these sizes and configurations for good reason. We all have unique needs based on where we fish, etc. I just picked up a similar Lund, and it is really perfect for the way I fish. Congrats on a sweet boat.
@@alexkorn6036 All good brother and I appreciate the input. When I fished with Flukemaster I just remember his ultrex being much louder...maybe it wouldn't spook the fish. No doubt it's an awesome trolling motor, I just didn't feel I would personally benefit much from it. Hope all is well man! 👊
Glad to see you finally get a 24v trolling motor which you'll never regret. As far as outboard, I totally agree with keeping it meeting the horsepower requirements of your closest or favorite lake. 95% of the time when the boat is under power it's 24v gonna be pushing it. Nice boat
@@1Probound Oh sweet! I asked Crestliner and Lewis and they both said a transom saver isn't needed. Have you seen or heard of any issues with guys not using one? So far the Wedge appears to be working, but on my last boat I did like the one that I could attach to the trailer.
The trim shafts are plenty strong enough to support the engine with no damage to the transom. Possible exception might be if you travel a lot of rough roads. Transom saver is a good insurance policy.
