I've got an older alumacraft with 70h.p. nissan and run 24v trolling motor with just two batteries. I run two 27 series batteries , running livewell (on a timer of course) the whole trip and as long as my batteries are in good shape, I fish all day , or all night and never ever have a problem with just two. The back battery remains your 12v , and that system works perfectly. On your size boat, when you get into wind, you would certainly appreciate that extra power. And the thing is your trolling motor is pulling off both batteries, not just one, yet, you will never have an issue with starting up your motor. Been running this way for 25 years with just the two. While I'm not jealous of your trolling motor, which is the main thing used all day long,, I have deep respect for your care , that you take on your boat. Beautiful boat, and you have fixed it up very very nice. Best wishes and very nice boat tour!
You can make pulls for your seats out of paracord easily. Just remove the screw under the seat to loop the cord around and screw it back in. I did that on my tracker.
To make easy seat pulls I used 1inch nylon strap, fold over to a loop, then just used the screw/grommet on the edge of the seat when it is up. Works great.
my 2000 pt 175 had that same issue, heavy more lean on the console side but i had the 24 volt had 3 batters back there, but you wouldn't think that one battery would trow it off that much it had a 75hp on it, the boat seemed maybe 100-150 off you could see it was off on the water line on the back, "Nice boat"
I think they try n put the gas tank on the right side to help settle with the livewell? If the livewells not centered. I agree it should be in the middle though
Definitely can tell you take really great care of not only your boat but fishing gear to. You’d think the fuel tank would be placed either forward of the motor or to the left of the console. Between body weight and a full tank of fuel your roughly at 417lbs. Almost like driving a car with a flat tire. As always great video, keep them coming.
I put 3 battery's in mine plus the Power pole pump and it corrected the lean from one side. But I still think they should center the gas tank and be able to but battery's on the side.
for the water spots, i grab a 32 oz spray bottle, and 3/4 full of water, fill the rest with white vinegar and a squirt of blue dawn dish soap. For regular maintenance cleaning this works great! if you have lots of water deposits, add more vinegar. The acids in the vinegar dissolve the water spots and are not harmful to the paint. Best of all this is cheap as hell to make.
Hey TJ: Not that I'm ever going to buy a bass boat, but I sure learn a lot from you. thanks for sharing. One thing that struck me watching this particular video is the vulnerability to theft, with so many unlocked compartments jammed full of goodies. I don't know how boat owners can sleep without worry in a hotel while on an extended road trip that way.
My neighbor has a 2017 $125K ranger. It is sweet. No one wears shoes in his boat. NO ONE! He hands you a little reusable grocery bag when you get to his boat for you to put your shoes in. :)
youre just like me! I feel you on the shoes....planning to buy this exact boat, or an 18ft if I get lucky on the price....already thought about going with a barefoot policy since I hear carpeting a boat aint cheap! lol New sub....glad Im here! Can you do a "buying a used tracker/boat" video? Going to purchase my first boat, kinda have an idea what to ask from using forums....itd be cool to have a video running through important stuff, i.e. test drive, motor, livewell, electrical testing and all that other important stuff
I noticed the area around your anchor lugs are black, is that some kind of protective coating you added to prevent rope rub or is it factory? I love the fact that you're particular about your boat! Awesome video
TackleJunky81 Awesome idea! The efforts you put into keeping that boat in stellar condition in my opinion is why you still have it. That thing looks new and I love the added personal touch to make it functional for your style. Again awesome video
Also have you ever pulled a tube behind the boat? Is it possible? Debating on bass boat or something I can pull the little ones with but really want the bass boat.
I have the same boat but the weight on mine was fixed when I added the fourth battery (That's right I now have four batteries next to the gas tank and it's tight). I just installed the 112 Minn Kota fortrex 36v so I had to install two more batteries.
whats your thoughts on fishing in the rain i'm in indiana you know it rains a lot i got a used 08 pro 170 great shape garage kept as i do wood deck concerns me although i'm 63 it will probably out live me
I haven't fished in the rain a ton, but I've been caught in many down pours on the way home from the lake and as of a year or so ago my deck was solid. I sold this boat last year, but I'd assume it's still holding up just fine.
What do you use to clean the silver aluminum part on your boat. I’ve seen some boats where at part looks really dirty and black.. some have had rust on it. It looked really bad Can u advise what is the best thing to use on that part. I saw u use hot sauce but does it keep it from Rusting or turning black ..
I'll hit it with an aluminum brightener end of each season, but if you don't polish it it will get that black look to it. I have never polished mine...I just wash it like I said each year.
Can you give which trailer jack and winch you went with on your boat. I have the 2017 and thinking of swapping mine out. Did they mount with existing holes.
Hey TJ, I’ve been looking for a video you made about the prop and what pitch it was for your old tracker. Is there anyway you would be able to let me know the video title? Thanks
TackleJunky81 I really been lookin at lowrance hook or elite ti. But Garmin is making it a tough decision. I wouldn’t be going with live scope for budget reasons. Which way would you go now?
Eh, depends how much wind. If you can I'd step it up to a 24 volt. I no longer have this boat and on my new one I went 24 volt and I'm much happier with it.
@@TackleJunky81 I appreciate it buddy ain’t in no rush the 175 was all that would fit in the garage at this point . I think it will get the job done for now. Something about buying a boat leaving it outside just didn’t want to do that. Thanks bud!
