Love the layout. I hated to see the trains crash. I hope that no trains were broken during the filming. At least the trains were on the floor and not falling off a train table above the floor.
This was a very good movie as I recall, if it's the one I'm thinking of, not sure now. No recollection of this train scene, though it does seems vaguely familiar to me. Looks as though this may've been an early partnership between a movie studio & a commercial product., in this case Lionel. Wonder if the film was released during the Yuletide holidays, using this scene as a none-too-subtle reminder about buying Lionel trains for Xmas. Wouldn't be surprised!
The BEST part was cut off..!! That’s when Peck starts the ‘famous’ argument about who was using “One Beep” and Roger Pigeon countered with “I was going ‘beep-beep- beep” !! Or something like that …it’s really comical😋🤪🎉
It’s obvious Lionel sent one of their factory designers to the movie studio to set up and wire all of the switches, accessories and transformers. No ordinary movie set designer could do this. Nice advertising for the company..
Awesome Railroad Layout
Nice Lionel train layout with the great actress - Jeanne Crain and great actor - Cary Grant.

Love that ending, ala Gomez Adams.
My last 2 braincells with my model trains of random thoughts at 2:48AM when Im trying to sleep:
Lionel O Gauge post war trains circa 1951.

That was cool
Interesting track plan. It would be nice to replicate if you have the space, but be more careful about crashing them.
That is the second man I have heard say a train going beep beep
Please find all of this! Please
Probably the best example of PSR out there.
Holy crap it launched that locomotive

Is it so hard to believe that a railfan could come up with a layout like that?
