This episode definitely had some funny moments, like when Rarity imitated Pinkie Pie, when Maud quote unquote "broke" Rarity into telling her about Pinkie's cannon, and when Maud pulled the same tactic on that stallion.XD
Should have also added the fact that Pinkie Pie knows how to haggle ponies, since she's done it in the episode "Putting Your Hoof Down", but fails to implement that when trading the party cannon for the rock pouch in the beginning. I love the episode anyways!
3:48-3:58 She could also probably stitch a pouch similar to the one Pinkie wants and could do so free of charge. Rarity's entire inclusion in this episode creates a plot hole that could easily be resolved if you just wrote her out.
I don't find that a plot hole. Rarity may have the skill to make a similar pouch, sure, but not the time. They're out and about in another town and she's got her own agenda. But putting that aside, as she can always look for her new store location another day, was she just supposed to bail on Pinkie and Maud, take a train back home, spend however long it takes to make another pouch, then take another train back and somehow find the two of them? All without Maud wondering where she went for 2 or 3+ hours? That seems a bit excessive.

All she'd have to do is excuse herself for an hour, agree to meet them at the next location, and grab the materials she needed and whip them together, 20-30min job tops.

As someone who has been to NYC multiple times and has gone up the Statue of Liberty, I can confirm no pedestrian pays attention to other pedestrians not in their party unless they're really REALLY weird. No one cares how loud you are on the streets, and the Statue is INCREDIBLY crowded. Especially the fucking ferries to get to and from there.

I'm a bit sad my favourite moment wasn't highlighted: Maud pulling an epic Sans maneuver to keep the scam artist pony from leaving with the party cannon.

As odd as it is that Rarity is a seamstress who could easily solve this episode's conflict, I think this episode could have been drastically better if Pinkie tried to sew a rock pouch for Maud instead and Pinkie rejected an offer Rarity made seeing her desperate to drum up a gift since it'd be more hollow if not from her own sister. Would have made the moral a lot stronger, too.

You know, this episode could have been a take on Gift of the Magi, where not only does Pinkie trade her party cannon to get Maud a gift, but Maud also trades her rock to get Pinkie a gift. Like, maybe there is an instance where Maud isn't able to buy Pinkie some new confetti because the store she needs to buy it from is closed and instead sees some pony else with some who agrees to take Maud's rock in exchange. I can't believe I didn't think of that possibility when this episode first aired, but it would be interesting.

It's a twoderful game!
